I’ve spent my whole entire school life thinking I was dumb because I couldn’t understand math no matter how hard I tired. My parents paid for years of out of school tutoring to help me and I still understand almost nothing. I can’t do mathematical equations above a year 6/7 level (11/12 years old. Maybe younger. I’m not completely sure) I was always told I was dumb or lazy when in reality I couldn’t understand numbers. I literally cannot understand them. I’m eighteen this year. I can’t believe the fact that I clearly have dyscalculia was never picked up on by teachers or tutors. Fix the fucking school system. Just because children don’t learn the way you expect and want them to doesn’t mean they’re stupid or naughty or lazy.
