I believed you
Here’s a short story on how I ruined my life again.
Background: I’ve been with my current boyfriend for over a year now and we decided to move in together with my brother- 2 hours away from where we lived before. I was out with my brother one day and he introduced me to his friend.
Prologue: It was like a slow but steady avalanche. It didn’t happen all at once, but consecutively over time. Disastrous all the same. Maybe even worse, because subconscious me saw it coming, but yet did nothing to prevent it. I have no one to blame, but myself.
I walked into your vape store, not knowing what would happen next, and examined you carefully. You were tall, stocky, strong, short blonde hair and beautiful blue-green eyes. -They reminded me of the reflection of the sky upon the ocean.- You smiled and said hi to my brother. My brother introduced us. We talked and made jokes...
You sold me a vape, I had no intention on buying a vape or anything else from the store for that matter. But you were persuasive.. a great salesman..
(I didn’t know at the time that you were also a great salesman of lies.)
I walked out of the store with a smile upon face.
We waited for you outside in the car, cause you were going to follow us home after your shift to go swimming. And so you did.
My boyfriend was happy that I had made a new friend.
Then we started to hangout and talk more. We were dangerously flirtatious with each other. You had me and everyone else around us convinced you liked me. You even told others you did. The sad thing is, I think you even had even convinced yourself for a short bit.
You were sweet, you asked me about my relationship with my boyfriend. I’d tell you about our problems, you would tell me I deserve better. You even seemed to get angry when he would do something to hurt me. You were caring.
Then a bit later on in our friendship, we were swimming and I asked you if you had romantic feelings for me beyond just the pure physical attraction that was obvious. You told me yes. I believed you, but I didn’t act on it right away. But then later on I told you the feelings were mutual. But you were considerate over the fact that I was still in a relationship. You never acted on it.
We continued to be friends.
Then your birthday came. You decided you were going to throw a birthday party. You invited my brother and I. You told us there was going to be alcohol.
We came early. You sent my brother to go out and get pizza.
