Don't Leave Me
Demon Slayer characters x severely injured reader (angst!)
Giyuu
He doesn’t register the injury at first.
It’s only when he hears your strangled gasp — the one that sounds nothing like you — that his body locks up.
You collapse to the ground, and he’s still frozen. Not because he’s calm — because his mind refuses to believe this is real.
Once it hits, he’s all instinct. The enemy doesn’t last five seconds. His attacks are brutal, fast, and silent. There’s no mercy in his blade.
He drops to his knees beside you with shaking hands. He doesn’t speak at first — because he knows once he opens his mouth, he might fall apart.
“Don’t move.” That’s all he can manage. His voice is a broken whisper. “Just… don’t.”
His hands are covered in blood — yours and the demon’s — and he doesn’t know where to apply pressure first. He doesn’t know how to help you.
When you try to smile and joke, he flinches. He hates it. Hates how kind you are, even now. It’s killing him.
“I should’ve been faster.” He says it like a confession.
Not to you — to himself. He can’t stop replaying what he could’ve done.
When the others arrive, he won’t leave your side. Won’t let them move you until he’s sure you’re still breathing. He needs to feel your pulse.
That night, he doesn’t speak. Just sits at your bedside, sword resting against the wall, his head bowed in silence.
“If you die, I’ll never let anyone close again”
