Hey all!

SO I’m not dead AND I have been working one a thing or two since Animate CC sucked all will to live out of me.

I have a WIP gif for ya’ll to enjoy, but uh...the nature of the gif...is uh, hmmm. It’s Hancock again, of course :/ Someday I’ll move on! (I won’t tho). Aaaand it’s m/m and it’s explicit!!! So WATCH OUT FOR THE DICKS. Seriously, it’s just right there, BAM.

So, it’s still a WIP. I’m thinking I’ll add a vault dweller version and maybe a BOS version (since they’re both just jumpsuits.)

ALSO!!! I was thinking of making a PICARTO to stream. Lemme know if there’s interest...(Also TELL ME YOUR FAV picarto/twitch creative streams to watch)

Animate CC why r u like this??

So for some reason I can’t get pen pressure sensitivity to work on Animate CC. Already tried to reinstall drivers (I have a yiynova msp 19u) and that actually MADE IT WORSE!

SOOOOO...I’m going to look into other animation software, and in the meantime I’ll probably keep using photoshop for some stuff. (The pen works fine in Photoshop, but does not work in Illustrator either...so, figure that out if you can).

If anyone has any ideas for wtf I can try to fix this pls let me know! <3 Or about what other animation software to use! Thanks!!

Hey all!

Just a quick update. I’ve been using Photoshop to do my rotoscoping, which is ok for basics, but is definitely not robust. So I am switching to Adobe Animator (previously Flash). It’ll take some time to learn, but once I do hopefully it’ll be much faster to animation in the future.

Just wanted to let ya’ll know this blog is NOT dead, but it might take some time. In the meantime I’ll post some exercises I do to practice from THIS list.

And have been using THIS youtube tutorial to learn the basics of Animate CC the program (not really animation basics).

Oh, and if you have any ideas for rotoscoping I can do in the future, throw ‘em out there! No promises I can do them, but I’d love to hear! I’ve been thinking of doing something for Critical Role next...

Welp...here’s some progress on Rey for now. I’m not actually sure I’m going to continue on it...I have some other projects I want to work on :P Further thoughts on it below:

I made some mistakes in terms of layer stuff and I’m just not going to go back and fix it. I couuuld, but it would be a bunch of silly fiddly work. Plus, if you’ve seen the movie, you’ve seen the character do plenty of stuff like this which I think makes it less of a good candidate for animating. I think it’s much more interesting and useful, if that makes sense, to do animations of things people haven’t seen characters do.

Ok yeesh! I’m finally back to work! I know I said I’d be back after winter vacation in January, but then I got whatever awful thing is going around this year for like 2 1/2 weeks, then the boyfriend got sick, then I got sick AGAIN! :/ But we’re both fine now! Finally!

Here’s the first step of the process for those curious! I couldn’t find a bigger version, so I’m doing the basic lines first, then I’ll blow it up before I start adding the character details.

I’m planning on using this gif for a new rotoscope. (I won’t tell you who the character is yet! So it’ll be a surprise!)

Animation gifs seem a little fast paced -- it helps to keep it at 12 fps, or, if you want to go 24 fps, simply duplicate each frame (shoot it on twos) to help it feel less frenetic. Just a little critique for u about your rotoscope animations :)!

Thanks! I’ve actually been looking for some advice on this. (Although I could swear tumblr plays the gifs a smidge faster than photoshop or maybe photoshop is being a little laggy :P)

The problem is since I’m rotoscoping, the gifs or clips I find are 24 fps, so I just go over those. If I double the frames the action just seems weirdly slow. And of course if I cut out half the frames the movement seems really choppy in a different way. So I’m not totally sure what to do. I’ll post some examples of what I mean if anyone is interested!

THE HAT IS...there. :P I still need to go back in and make it less...seizure-y. But I think it’ll be a lot easier to make it smoother with the guides I’ve got in place now! WOOOH! Then I’ll add like...Face and shirt stuff I guess!

Also, I’ll be out of town for the holidays (starting tomorrow! Dec the 7th) so expect pretty much NOTHING from now until January.

So here’s the result of the anon request for Hancock intimidating a robot OC :D I have absolutely no explanation for what’s going on! And I’ve just realized his coat has no buttons....well...maybe the robot took them! And that’s why he’s mad!

In other news! I am THREE FRAMES away from finishing adding the hat to my previous animation! Hurray!!!

Awesome thank you so much! By the way no problem I understand you don't make any promises that you'll draw it or that it will look finished, I actually don't mind if it's just a sketchy drawing. So would a request of my small robot character getting scared or intimidated by hancock from fallout 4 be alright? I can provide a picture reference of my character. If you're ok with this, I'll submit the picture and a few extra details.

Yeah, no harm in asking! (Although I wouldn’t ask if someone does offer commissions fyi, though you sound like you’d probably know that :P So for all you others out there!)

Go ahead and send me whatever you’ve got! Also do you mean synth (like Nick or a gen 1 or 2) or do you mean robot (like codsworth? or the asaultrons) or a different type of robot? Also, do you mean scared/intimidated by Hancock, just cause they’re not used to him/ghouls? Or do you mean Hancock actively being intimidating towards them for whatever reason?

Anyway! Like I said, send me what you’ve got in terms of reference, and if you have a gif that illustrates what you mean by intimidate/scare I might do a short rotoscope of it?
