Tigerscape... All shots need not be a close-up. If you have a limitation with lens and cannot zoom in, so be it. Compose with what you have. This was at 200mm. Composition is what matters and not the focal length. -- Sudhir Shivaram Photography - Helping you become a better photographer.
TipsForBeginners Tiger crossing the road is one of the most sought after images for many photographers. But it has it's own challenges. Though we were the second jeep in the front, at the appropriate time the other photographers in the front jeep stood up to shoot. Of course, they could have shot sitting as they would have got a low angle. So, all we got was a small window when it had crossed the road. So be it. In wildlife photography, there is no end to greed about what kind of angle, photography we want. But we need to draw a line and sometimes just let go of that shot and be happy with what we have ;) I will be sharing more images from our Bandhavgarh photography learning tour and share the tips and tricks which can be useful for beginners. -- Sudhir Shivaram Photography - Helping you become a better photographer.
Get off my back!!! Dad yelling at his naughty cub! Shot during the Bandhavgarh photography learning tour...

Ranthambhore - From today morning safari...it's been great for the group so far with just 2 safaris...6 more to go...
Sleeping Elephant :) Have you ever seen an Elephant sleeping like this? It took quite a long nap during our afternoon safari and later in the evening it got up and left. I like these kind of habitat images which conveys a story. Composition is the key in these kind of images where you need to be careful on what you include and how much you include. I tried balancing between the water, land and the forest behind...one of my all time favourite images... -- Sudhir Shivaram Photography - Helping you become a better photographer. PhotographyTipsForBeginners Complimentary background - When you compose your image, always try to get a complimentary background which enhances the main subject. It should not be distracting to the eyes and also avoid uniform tonality background. A variation of colours in background will be good. Though I do not like nature subjects on man made objects, this I could not resist. Good Morning...Bar Headed Geese | Chambal It was easy to capture them as they were coming into landing. 800mm at f8 gave me enough depth of field to get all of them in sharp focus. A challenge we face when flock of birds fly is to get all of them in focus as all of them may not be in the depth of field area. Camera to subject distance matters along with aperture and lens focal length. Keep these 3 points in mind next time you try to take a flock of birds in flight. -- Sudhir Shivaram Photography - Helping you become a better photographer.
