rereading your own fics/wips is a very slippery slope into finding out you actually have to finish your fics if you want them finished
“If a society puts half its children into short skirts and warns them not to move in ways that reveal their panties, while putting the other half into jeans and overalls and encouraging them to climb trees, play ball, and participate in other vigorous outdoor games; if later, during adolescence, the children who have been wearing trousers are urged to “eat like growing boys,” while the children in skirts are warned to watch their weight and not get fat; if the half in jeans runs around in sneakers or boots, while the half in skirts totters about on spike heels, then these two groups of people will be biologically as well as socially different. Their muscles will be different, as will their reflexes, posture, arms, legs and feet, hand-eye coordination, and so on. Similarly, people who spend eight hours a day in an office working at a typewriter or a visual display terminal will be biologically different from those who work on construction jobs. There is no way to sort the biological and social components that produce these differences. We cannot sort nature from nurture when we confront group differences in societies in which people from different races, classes, and sexes do not have equal access to resources and power, and therefore live in different environments. Sex-typed generalizations, such as that men are heavier, taller, or stronger than women, obscure the diversity among women and among men and the extensive overlaps between them… Most women and men fall within the same range of heights, weights, and strengths, three variables that depend a great deal on how we have grown up and live. We all know that first-generation Americans, on average, are taller than their immigrant parents and that men who do physical labor, on average, are stronger than male college professors. But we forget to look for the obvious reasons for differences when confronted with assertions like ‘Men are stronger than women.’ We should be asking: ‘Which men?’ and ‘What do they do?’ There may be biologically based average differences between women and men, but these are interwoven with a host of social differences from which we cannot disentangle them.”

I'M SORRY WHAT
DEAR MR CAPITALISM,
I regret to inform you I will NOT be paying almost £200 on merch when I own a perfectly good printer and laminator and access to Ebay, so you will have to go and shove your over-priced shite somewhere else.
Thank you for the false hope,

ziyal survives the war -> is unofficially adopted by both garak and kira separately (Very Separately.) -> asks to spend time on cardassia during the reconstruction -> kira comes along because it’s a disaster out there and she’s not letting ziyal go by herself -> comedy of errors where kira keeps getting mistaken for garak’s quite young wife (but what a lovely daughter you have together! she looks so much like you! divorced, you say? what a shame…) -> kira’s head explodes. the end
Describing the Star Trek shows (disclaimer - I love Star Trek, don't come at me)
Enterprise - A group of idiots with no business being in space go into space while being babysat by a Vulcan who has Had. Enough.
Discovery- A group of idiots get high on shrooms then go time travelling
Short Treks- An Idiot Anthology
Strange New Worlds - A very handsome idiot takes a group of younger idiots on an interstellar roadtrip, while teaching them to cook. Singing is involved.
TOS - A vulcan and a doctor accompany a man known as a galactic fuckboy around the galaxy. Galactic fuckboy isn't really a fuckboy but more of a philosopher who's totally in love with the vulcan.
TAS - Galactic not-a-fuckboy and friends in 2D.
TNG - A group of educated idiots accompany a gentleman scholar around the galaxy. He's more of a fuckboy than the last captain but we keep forgetting this because his first officer is That Slut.
DS9 - A group of fucked-up idiots move to a space station with their space dad and add trauma and war crimes to their pre-existing traumas. And the universe hates on an Irish guy.
Voyager - A group of clueless idiots get lost while looking for angry idiots who got lost first. They then adopt a hitchhiker who seems intent on poisoning them.
Lower Decks - An idiot captain refuses to acknowledge that her ship is full of idiots, but she sure does treat them like they are
Prodigy - A group of kids want to boldly go and join Starfleet. Unfortunately they're borderline competent, jeopardising their chances.
Picard - An elderly idiot finds out retirement sucks and takes a group of unwitting victims along on merry adventures that will mentally and physically scar them all for life.
