They will come after us not because we have guns, it’s because of the message that transforms minds.”

Intimacy.
…so much deeper than just sex…🕉
People are starting to become triggered and spread Black hate because it's Black History Month. I hate to see it but instead of reading people for filth (like I realllllllllllllyyyyy want to do), I'll match that energy with a lot of black love and excellence.
Harriet Tubman (Abolitionist/Political activist)
Malcolm X (Minister/Human rights activist), Jane Bolin (First Black woman Yale graduate and first Black woman judge in the country), Shirley Chisholm (Politician, educator and author/former New York State representative)
George Washington Carver (Agricultural scientist)
Jesse Owens (Track and field gold medalist), Robert Abbott (Founder of the Bud Billiken Parade and The Chicago Defender - The most influential black newspaper in the country), Ruby Bridges (Civil rights activist)
Alvin Ailey (Dancer, director, choreographer, and activist)
In our lineage, there are...
Protectors.
Fighters.
Political powerhouses.
Scientific innovators.
Exemplary athletes.
Educators.
Educated.
Artists.
All of which, who wore one hat or many at the same time.
They were Black excellence. Their histories are Black excellence and we are Black excellence because they paved the way for us to be all of these things and more (much much more. One post can't fit all of what our history has to offer).
I say all this because hate does not change our history. It does not change the pain our ancestors (and those that are still with us) grew from. It does not change what they accomplished through it and what avenues they opened up for us. It does not change the paths that have been paved. We'll continue to break through barriers if we have to and we will do it in the most unapologetically Black ways.
It'll never break us.
