Moral/business dilemma ?
For global synergy class we had an interesting exercise as part of what we call the bonus (it deals with business environment). During this exercise we are asked to divide a bonus of 1000000$ on 5 group members. We are provided by information about these people, like how much they took part in the project and few other background pieces. I personally found it hard to divide this money as I wanted to encourage the new recruit who did 35% of the work without former experience but this would take away from the groups share. I also felt the need to help the team member who only did 20% of the work, however, I knew he had a sick family member. An other point that I faced is that I felt that the senior worker with lots o experience did not preform so well although I know that he did accomplish the other 35% of the work, I kept comparing them to the young worker. I felt that I am being unfair to the workers. I will not write about how I choose to divide the bonus, instead feel free to think about it yourself!
Q. What would you do if you where in my spot?
Q. Do you think there is a way to be truly fair to these workers?
