Plate clattering on the table, Izuku sat down at his spot, looking over at Shota, "So...are we just going to pretend everything's fine?"
"Yes, because everything is fine." Shota replied as he finished grading papers that he wasn't able to do last night, mostly because of Shoto. This morning when he had woken up, Shoto was already up and dressed, scrolling on the computer, incognito mode. Little did they know, Shota could just ask for his bill to see what they were up to. Anyways, it was rather odd for the boy to be on early in the morning and after he was done, he headed straight to the bathroom where he's been in for the past half hour.
"Maybe he's depressed." F/n said as their eyes moved over to the hall, "Wasn't his mom crazy? Didn't she have bipolar or something?"
Denki kicked their shin, shaking his head as he even knew better than that, "Really?"
"That's such an insensitive thing to say." The freckle male annoyingly said as he gave F/n a glare.
Making his way to his seat, Katsuki slapped the back of F/n's head, "Watch what you say."
"Aah!" F/n glared at him, rubbing the back of their head, "I'm just saying it could be genetics!"
"No, he isn't depressed." The father stated as he flipped over a worksheet, "Nor is he bipolar."
At least he hoped so. From what he knew, Shoto's mother was held in a facility to treat her mental illness, but Shota didn't know for what exactly, only that she was put in for causing the scar on Shoto's face. The therapist did mention that with the abuse Shoto took, there is a great possibility that he'd have to face hardships. Besides, it's difficult to diagnose a minor with bipolar and if it did run in the family the therapist wouldn't have let it go unsaid.
"You don't know that." Katsuki said, his eyes also moving over to the hall, waiting for Shoto to come out, "He could be hiding it from youâfrom all of us."
"The betrayal." F/n sadly muttered, "Here I thought we were close."
"We're not?" Concerningly, Eri's brow furrowed as she listened in on the conversation. She didn't know what they were talking about, but she could sense that it wasn't good with their behavior, and she did feel something was off about Shoto.
"We are." Shota stated, "Finish eating. We leave in ten."
Looking over at Hitoshi, the freckle male nudged him, "You share a room with him, shouldn't you know how he's feeling?"
"Looks fine, acts fine." The male shrugged as he shoved a spoonful of cereal in his mouth, "You're all just overreacting."
"Like you would know anything." Katsuki glared at him, scoffing as he eyed him up and down, "You weren't even adopted."
"Hey!" Shota's shout, which had a hint of anger, startled them and like deer in headlight, they all looked at him. It didn't help that his scowl was enough to burn holes in their skull and they can feel their heart wanting to crawl out, even Denki who tried making himself smaller in his chair as if he'd get yelled at next. It wasn't normal for Shota to yell at them and if he did, it was rare. If they counted how many times he looked at them like he's looking at them now and adding his loud terrifying voice, it'd be below 10.
It's true Hitoshi wasn't adopted, in fact he's Shota's biological son and because of it Shota tried his best to make it seem like he didn't favor the indigo male which was true. He treated them all equally and loved them all equally. At some point, he knew the day would come where one would feel resentful, maybe jealous and envious, to which he was informed and even took parenting class. Although it's a stretch, he never expected it to be Katsuki.
Still, that yell scared them and one by one they all looked elsewhere rather than at Shota who stood up and packed his stuff. They knew that he didn't like it when they acted like they weren't a real family just because one is his and the others aren't; it's something he mentioned. Yet, every time someone commented at how strange it was that none of his kids looked alike or how strange it is for him to not have his own biological kids, they noticed the slight twitch of annoyance at their father's face.
That let them know they shouldn't cross that boundary and here they are, looking elsewhere, waiting for Katsuki to at least apologize or acknowledge his wrong behavior. And Katsuki knew better than that, "..Heat of the moment."
"Put your plates away and grab your things, I'm dropping you all off at school." With his work bag in his hand, Shota headed for the door where his keys hung and proceeded to wait for them in the van.
When the door closed, Denki glanced at them, puffing his right cheeks as he felt awkward and nervous. Denki had no room to talk since he wasn't their family, but this feeling in the air felt suffocating, "...Shoto's the type of person to say anything if something was bothering him. Maybe give it time?"
"Give what time?" All heads snapped at Shoto's frame as he just walked in. His usual blank stare, eyeing each of them who were unaware that he heard everything, "Are we leaving?"
Seeing no one else nod or speak, Eri smiled, hoping to bring their spirits up, "Yeah, dad is taking us. Can you help me with my beanie?"
"Sure." With Eri's voice being in the background, talking nonsense about a magazine she read, the rest quietly placed their dishes in the sink and placed their belongings on before heading out the door. The entire care ride was silent, as expected. They said goodbye to Eri as she was the first to be dropped off and when the rest separated, they all felt a relief exit their chest.
"That was awkward." Denki muttered as he met up with Kyoka who gave him a perplexed brow.
"What happened?" The girl noticed how suddenly quiet F/n had gone, "You're usually hyper."
F/n shrugged, face resting as they stared ahead, "Nothing."
Faltering back with Denki, Kyoka questionably stared at F/n who continued on their pace, leaving the two behind, "You gonna tell me what happened?"
"It's not really my business." He stated, which was true and he did not want to cause an even bigger problem, "I'm sure F/n will go back to normal."
Thankfully Hizashi let them catch up on work. He played some music in the background as he finished grading papers for all his classes, which weren't a lot. Along with the music, students in the background talked and they all liked Hizashi's class as he let them hang out so long as they finished everything. In the back working on his English paper, Shoto let out a quiet yawn, ignoring Hanta who went on about something he couldn't care about.
His mind was more preoccupied at the fact his family was secretly talking about him behind his back. More so, he was shocked that Shota didn't see him in the hall before he stepped out. He was taking a breather, making sure that his face didn't say he was bothered by the fact his father was on TV and his brother, who he didn't even know, was speaking about something that he went through, similar to himself.
He's blocked his entire past, he knows his family knows about it and now that it's all out in the open once again, he wonders, what's next. They're already talking about him, they're all looking at him with worried glances, will they speak to him as if walking on eggshells? Because that's so great, isn't it? It's like he's starting all over, as if he's six years old and at the time, he didn't care because he didn't know, but now, he doesn't want to feel like a mental case where he can't do anything without his family feeling anxious for him.
"Shoto?" Momo waved her hand at him, "Are you there?"
He blinked. His eyes had been on his worksheet where his pencil left a dot, "Yeah.."
Despite not believing him, she smiled, "I want to go through our answers and see if we get them right. Is that fine with you?"
He nodded, quickly finishing up his work, "Yeah."
Towards the front, Toru had a grin on her face as she saw Momo giggling, "Look at Momo and Shoto smiling at each other. They are so cute!"
"Momo is the only one smiling." Tsuyu pointed out, "And I don't know if I would call it cute when they're both working."
"You just don't see the vision I do." The bright haired girl rolled her eyes, "Mina would understand."
"That they're both perfect?" Mina chimed in, grinning as she formed a heart with her hands, closing one eye to fit Shoto and Momo together, "They're both pretty cute. I bet they'd break U.A dating reputation."
"U.A has a dating reputation?" Mashirao asked as he and Rikido were listening in.
"Every school has one." Toru dryly said, "That's the only interesting thing that goes on around school."
"Because nobody cares about learning." Rikido sarcastically said, receiving a scoff from Mina.
As the long hours of torture passed, F/n headed for the club room with Denki next to them both who were munching on Takoyaki. Unfortunately, their savory meal lasted a bite as Katsuki snuck in behind them, snatching the snack and scarfing it down, "How the fuck were you able to sneak this in?"
"Rude." Denki muttered before smiling, "Fumikage works in mysterious way-"
"Wait, let me have one more." F/n said, though before they could reach in for the last one, they heard Neito's voice calling for them. Smiling at the blonde male, F/n lagged behind ignoring as the others went in and the roll of eyes coming from Katsuki.
"Like a dog going back to its owner." The maroon eyed male said.
"F/n or Neito?" Denki asked as he glanced over at them who were way into their conversation. There was no way that much touching should be involved if they were broken up with and as their best friend, he should give some advice, but...he didn't really want to mess with F/n who could do god knows what.
"Obviously both, Dunceface." The blonde scoffed as he set his bag on the table.
Coming in, Izuku glanced at them while pointing at F/n, "Did you guys see that?"
"Yeah, and who cares." Hanta huffed, a hint of annoyance in his voice, "What's wrong with Shoto anyways? Usually he's quiet, but today he's even more...quiet."
"Yeah, what's up with that?" A hum came from Kyoka, "You guys were acting all weird this morning."
Shrugging, because who wants to explain family drama, Izuku headed off to his seat, "I don't know."
"We're all here, right?" Momo counted heads with Shoto standing beside, noticing a few were missing and that caused an eye roll from him, "And the others?"
"Yo," Eijiro came in, accidently slamming the door shut, "someone should tell the janitor that one of the toilets is cloggedâthe one near 2-H. Water is starting to overflow."
"And like the respectable young man you are, you left." The purple-haired girl sarcastically said, "You could've just flagged him out."
"He probably clogged the toilet that's why he left." Denki snickered, "His shit's are lethal."
"Ugh, you're so gross." Katsuki glared at him as he wasn't done eating his snack.
"Where are the other's?" Momo asked again, "I want to start planning for Valentine's Day."
"Valentine's Day is just a day to make lonely people feel terrible." Hanta snarkily said.
"'Course you would know that." The blonde and red-head laughed.
"Screw you guys." Hanta mumbled as he moved to a different seat just as Mina, Tenya, and Ochaco came in.
With F/n still out, Shoto waved for Momo to start as he sat in his seat and pulled out his book, flipping to a page where he left off. That same page he's been staring at while he tuned out the others and let his mind take over him, allowing all those memories he wanted to leave in the past come right back. Yet, despite ignoring the others, he could feel his siblings eye him. He felt like an animal in a zoo.
"Hey." Momo gently placed a hand on Shoto's shoulder, her brows furrowed as she worryingly eyed him, "Are you sure you're okay?"
His eyes turned over to the others who already left. The only ones who lagged behind were his siblings who waited by the door and he didn't miss their glances. His mismatched hues turned to the clock behind him, just above the chalk board. With a nod, he stood up, "Time went by fast."
Momo let out a soft chuckle, "Hanta was falling asleep, Hitoshi and F/n never showed up, then Tenya had to go home early as do I, so I just decided to cut it short. Besides, most of us were caught up."
Also, the fact that Shoto had just been sitting there doing nothing.
"Right." He whispered before clearing his throat, "We'll just go over the Valentine's project next time."
Her eyes wandered off as she thought about letting him know that the project wasn't until the next few weeks, "... Sure."
She went for the latter.
The entire walk home was silent. While Shoto lagged behind, he stared at their backs. One cracked their neck, the other on their phone, the other kicked snow, and so on. They just knew it was going to be awkward once they got home and who knows what Shota has in mind for them. Probably clean the bathroom or shovel out the snow. Thankfully the sun was still out, so at least that would keep them warm for the meantime. When they finally reached home, Shota's car was parked outside. It's not like they were dreading it, but they were holding in their breaths as they entered.
"Damn, it's fucking freezing." Katsuki shivered as he took off his shoes, "Close the door already."
"Close the door already." F/n mocked, throwing their jacket elsewhere.
"-There has still been no comment from the Prime Mi-" That had Hitoshi switching the channel as Shoto emerged from the hall. He let his eyes roam on the boy who entered the kitchen with his usual stoic face. Hitoshi would be lying if he said he didn't feel bad about this morning. It was obvious that Shoto was rather off standish than he normally was, "You want to shower first?"
The heterochromia male shrugged as he opened the fridge, "Sure."
Seeing there wasn't anything to snack on while the food was cooking, Shoto went back to his room where he rolled his eyes and gritted his teeth at the feeling of their eyes staring at his disappearing figure. Once hearing the door softly close, they stared at each other with concerned looks.
"I can't be the only one who feels weird." Denki said, looking over at his best friend.
"It is what it is." F/n shrugged, "We'll just have to pretend for a while, no?"
"What?" Hitoshi scoffed, "Pretend to be fine?"
"I don't know!" F/n scratched their head, "This whole thing is so...Ugh!"
"Calm down." Shota never turned to face them. His back was facing the table as he continued to prepare the food. He was just nervous about this whole mess and while he was prepared to deal with it, he didn't think it'd happen so soon, especially during Shoto's teen years. With their hormones all over the place, he didn't exactly know how it would go down, "Go get ready for dinner. It'll be a while before it's done."
Doing so, they tidied up the place and hung out in Katsuki's room where they could sneakily listen in to what Shoto was doing. It was silent for the most part as occasionally they could hear soft music playing from the radio. Then when dinner was ready, the atmosphere was still rather difficult to breathe in. Shota had warned them to not bring up any topics that could trigger the bi-colored male and thus being the good little siblings and Denki, they avoided what could potentially spiral Shoto. Heck, they were even avoiding making eye contact with the male who eyed them every time they worryingly glanced at him.
Clearing his throat, Izuku decided to be the first to stir up the conversation and clear the tension, "So, I guess we're helping in preparing the Valentine's Day festiva-"
"It's not a festival." Shoto stated, stirring his food, "Just a project."
"Right, but everyone's doing it and technically it's our day off as school as long as we participate." Denki pointed out.
"Beats having to do any work." The indigo male mumbled, shoving a spoonful in his mouth, "You also forget to mention only afterschool clubs are doing it. Not everyone."
"Yeah, but everyone's invited." Denki also pointed out.
"I did hear something like that." Shota glanced at Shoto who continued to stir his food in mindless circles, "Just make sure your project is appropriate and isn't like last year's drama club."
"I actually like the maid cafe." F/n grinned, recalling back to last school year when they were served coffee jelly, "I'm actually surprised Principal Nezu allowed it."
"Because it wasn't anything you were thinking." Katsuki scoffed, knowing F/n's wired mind.
"Do I also get to attend?" Eri asked as she wasn't a high school student, but she's always thought of what high school would be like, though judging from the teenagers around her, they made it seem like a nightmare.
"We'll see." Is all Shota said as he kept glancing at Shoto who didn't have the appetite. Then, the male suddenly stood up, plate practically full and his glass of water untouched. The room went silent as each of their eyes cautiously followed his movements. When Shoto instead headed for the front door Shota sat up from his seat, "Where are you going? It's late."
"The store." Shoto wrapped his scarf around his neck, his tone lace with irritation, "Do one of you want to keep an eye on me? Make sure I don't do anything?"
"It's just a question." The father replied, "It's unusual for you to leave at this hour."
"Maybe he's going to find his mom." F/n whispered to which Hitoshi snapped his head towards them with an annoyed expression. "Are you dumb?"
"Oh, like you haven't thought of that." F/n scoffed with a roll of their eyes.
"Literally, shut the fuck up." Katsuki angrily whispered.
Ignoring the kids whispering, Shota stood up with his plate in hand as he headed for the sink, "Go tomorrow, it's already late and it'll snow soon. I don't want you to catch a cold."
"No." Taking a deep breath, Shoto placed his shoes on as he rolled his eyes at their whispering and turned the doorknob. It was just so rude for them to talk behind his back and he was just tired of it. He needs a walk, to clear his mind or just until his family gets the hint that they should all shut up.
"He probably just wants an explanation." F/n shrugged, "It's better to ask someone who's in the loony bin then y'kno-"
"You can say his name, y'know." Shoto finally turned to them with brows narrows as he's had enough of the back talks, "I'm not depressed, or sad, or mad, or angry, or anything and I'm not just some troubled kid who still can't let go of their past or need to be reminded that I'm okay whenever he's brought up! I can move on just like any of you, so you can all just stop walking on eggshells or talk about me behind my back because it's offensive when you do that! It's my journey! It's my life! And I'm still me because I got here because of me!"
With his heart pudding against his ears, left hand on his chest and eyes shut with tears wanting to escape, he failed to notice his family had gotten up from the table as their widen eyes stared past him, where he forgot to close the door. Not even the cold breeze that entered was enough to clear his mind. It only took that soft voice that he hadn't heard since he was a child to shake him, but even then he still felt cold as the mention of his name sounded foreign and when he turned, his eyes widen as his body didn't know what to do at the sight of the one who birthed him. "...Shoto."Â

"You're the one who made her hurt me!"
Being born into an arranged marriage is just a set up for a lifelong of trauma. Of course, there are some that end up good, those who have bright futures ahead of them because arranged marriages are only for the wealthyâit's how they stay wealthy. But, what about those who are less fortunate? Those who are just stuck in an endless cycle of abuse and torment because their parents couldn't get along. And that feeling of freedom they crave.
Should Shoto even call them that? Parents? Aren't parents supposed to love their kids and protect them from harm's way? His mother tried to at least, but look at where that got her. Sent into an asylum meant for crazies and she wasn't crazy, she was a victim. A victim who caused the burn to his face, no better than his father. As for his father? A walking free manâthe Prime Minister to be exact. Being of a higher status has a few perks.
What Shoto couldn't wrap his head around, was the fact that only he out of his two otherâpresentâsiblings were removed from his home. He may have suffered injuries which caused burns to his 7 year old face, but from what he knew at his young age, his siblings suffered as well. Maybe not physically, but mentally. Besides, he was also isolated from Fuyumi and Natsuo, so that had to count as something.
Guess, it felt so right for him to feel lonely. He had no connection to any of the Todoroki's. All Shoto had was a father who pushed cruel punishments to mold him into the perfect future Prime Minister to continue the legacy, a mother who gazed at him the same way she viewed her husband, a sister who fails to acknowledge that her efforts are all for naught, and a brother who knows nothing about it. As for the oldest sibling, he had no clue there was another.
It just ate him up that he was the only one to get away and in his adolescent years, it still keeps him up. During his time in the orphanage where he waited for his father who he knew would never return, he was put into therapy as it was protocol for all the kids to be seen to assess their behavior. He'd mostly shrug and nod and keep his sentence short as he noticed his therapist hum and nod and wrote in her notebook. But, despite hating being analyzed, therapy made him realize that no one loved him. It was all an act, and he'd believed that for the rest of his life.
Until a couple months of being in the orphanage where he was visited by a strange man who looked like if he slept, he'd sleep for an eternity. That or he was just on a coffee bender.Â
He remembered the day he was introduced to the man, who would take him into his arms and question if his father paid this man to look after him. And while sometimes this man had him almost break a smile it had him wondering what a lone man was coming to see a kid, especially with no wife. It did raise a few alarms in his head, and he's heard stories of kids being placed in horrible, horrible homes, but just hearing this man's words and having to know him better, Shoto had no reason to be wary. Plus, he mentioned a few kids.
"You like superheroes?" Shota asked as he and Shoto sat outside the courtyard of the orphan facility, eating a burger with a side of fries and milkshakes. From the corner of his view, he could see a couple of other kids spying. He wondered if they were excited to see Shoto off judging by their grins.
Shrugging, Shoto munched on a fry, "I think they're cool."
Releasing a mental sigh at a topic the youngster seemed interested in, Shota thought of a famous hero that his kids loved, "I have a kid who's also into superhero'sâtwo kids. The other two are more into wrestling."
Curiosity peeking, Shoto looked up at him, "How many kids do you have?"
"Four." Shota said, playing with his fries, "One of the two who is into heroes can be painfully honest and blunt. The other one is shy and timid. Then there's the other two who are into wrestling. One is short-tempered and the other is energetic."
"That sounds like a bad mix of people." Shoto said to which Shota let out a small chuckle. "I suppose, but they are just kids. They're still learning."
The older male shifted in his seat, "They're not much older than you. They're the same age as you and maybe a bit taller."
The younger male fiddled with his straw, "I don't want to be in a place where I don't fit in."
It's not the first time Shota's heard that, "I know that feeling, but I know you'll fit in. You'll have time to readjust to your new environment and we'll all give you space whenever you need it. The others are sure to include you into everything and I mean everything. They are quite...persuasive, but they can also relate to how you feel. They've been in the exact same spot you're sitting at."
Literally.
At his response, Shoto sharply turned his gaze at the male, "They're not your real kids?"
"Well," Shota thought of a way to phrase it, "they are. I've adopted them, but if you're asking me if they're mine biologically, then no, but I do consider them my real kids."
My real kids.
Perhaps putting his life into the hands of this tired man would prove Shoto wrong. That he does deserve love, that he'll find it, and he won't be alone. Besides, he was cold to the boys in the orphanage despite their attempts to befriend him and could it honestly be any worse than his previous home? He certainly hoped not as he gave his bags to Shota and got in the back seat of his car. He watched the brown old building leave his sight and the kids who will probably never get adopted waving goodbye at him with a genuine smile. The staff as well.
What felt like forever, the home of Shota, which will now be his home came into view. He spotted chalk marks on the front porch and a soccer ball resting in the middle of the front yard. It finally dawns to him. His fingers trembled as the car pulled into the driveway and he saw the curtains from what he imagined was the living room shake. Then, as the car turned off, he flinched with heart jumping as Shota removed himself from the car and opened his door. "Whenever you're ready, Shoto."
There was no nod or a peep from him. His eyes only focused on the home, unaware that Shota had left to retrieve his belongings. He knew he had to take a step forward, but every move he made had him want to retreat. This pity party had to end as he couldn't keep Shota waiting. So, gripping his sweater, he closed the door behind him and followed the older male towards the home with fist clenched, knuckles turning white.
Every finger of his twitched as the doorknob turned and when it finally opened, the home was rather silent. He stayed behind Shota as he entered, carefully placing himself near but yet keeping his distance from the male who gave him a tour. His eyes wandered throughout the home, and he saw a few photo frames hung in the living room with a toy box near a lazy chair. Then they entered the hallway where he could hear muffled sounds of kids laughing and a TV playing in the background. To his left he saw three doors going down: Shota's room, a bedroom, and the laundry room. At the end was a door that led to the backyard. To his right where a wall stood, he saw frames of younger kids who appeared around his age.
Going down the hall, they turned right where he saw three more doors and a closet at the end of the room. The first room was a bathroom and next to the closet was another bedroom, but they stood in the middle of the hall as Shota pointed to the door that stood in the middle. Behind that door would be his shared bedroom and once setting his eye on the room, he saw a bunk bed, a toy box and near the closet a table meant for kids with a few crayons lying around. It wasn't as big as his old bedroom, but then again, he wasn't of wealth any more.
"The bottom bunk is open for you." Shota softly said as to not startle him. He left Shoto's bag near the bed, but seeing the younger boy stay, he crouched down to his level, "Hey, you don't have to be scared, this isn't a place where you have to fear or walk on eggshells. It'll take time to get used to this and you can take all the time you need. This is your home. You can be yourself. Don't be afraid to make a mistake."
Shoto wondered just how much he knew about his past.
"Whenever you're ready, come out." Seeing the heterochromia boy nod, Shota gently smiled at him, "If you need anything, I'll be in the kitchen. I heard soba is your favorite."
As the older male left, Shoto took his time looking around. He could still hear laughter, but it sounded distant. It felt warm and cozy and smelled good. On the desk where he saw crayons, he also noticed a few sheets of paper and a humidifier. A couple of toys were spilling from the closet and as he glanced at the top bunk, a lot of blankets were piled up with a body pillow hanging off.
Averting his attention to the bed, he sat down, pulling his legs close to his knees and carefully listened to the voices behind the room. The location of where he now resides is a lot different than what he knows and it'll take time to get used to it. No servants to clean and cook, no halls that lead to three different buildings, that's basically the same size as this home and no one to take him home. Does that mean he'd have to do...things for himself...? A faint shiver crawled up his spine.
He rubbed his eye as an eyelash fell upon it. It was then that he had forgotten about his scar and that made him incredibly insecure. He wondered if the other kids here would make fun of him for it. Back at the orphanage, most of the boys had scars so no one paid any mind to him, but they did have questions and as for the adult they were curious, though kept to themself. Only his therapist forwardly asked about it because duh, it's her job. As for Shota, he knew all the details.
He also wondered, as sitting in silence brought out his mind, if his mother knew he was no longer home. That he was adopted by a middle-income man and if his father was the one to sign him off. There's no doubt he did that, but imagining tears streaming down his father's face with his fist clenching his shiny pen made Shoto feel a bit better. What about his siblings? Ah, who cares, he barely even knew them.
"-us?" Startled by the sudden voice, Shoto flicked his eyes away from his hands and onto the younger version of Shota. He quickly looked away though as he made eye contact. After an hour of isolation, he kind of wanted to talk to this boyâwho is now his older brother by a few months.
Noticing his actions, Hitoshi repeated himself, "Do you want to play with us? We're going to watch a movie in a bit and the others pressured me to come ask you. They would do it themselves but they're scared and they don't want to get in troubleâanyways you kind of don't really have a choice, they'll drag you out yourself. So, do you want to play with us?"
He spoke too much, but it was better than staying alone and at one point, he'd have to show himself. So following the defying gravity hair boy, they entered Shota's room where it was a big mess. The TV he heard earlier was now silent as a boy with green hair messed with a DVD player. "I think it's stuck."
"Do you know why it's not working?" A blonde annoyingly said as he pressed a button, "Because you didn't press it."
"Oh." Izuku let out an embarrassed chuckle.
"What about this one?" From the bed, F/n held up a CD, "It's about a skeleton and a dog and since Halloween is almost here it's a perfect time to watch it."
"Shoto is here." Hitoshi seated himself on the floor where the CD binder was placed after F/n took their choice of movie to Izuku. He patted the spot next to him, "We're out of school for a week since it burned down so we're all planning on staying up late. What movie do you want to watch after, Shoto?"
After nervously eyeing them, he slowly made his way to sit next to him, "I don't know."
It's true he didn't know as he wasn't allowed to watch movies due to his "studies". Only one he knew were the ones playing while his mother was watching TV. Which were just boring. "Do you like heroes?"
Izuku pulled out a box of figurines from underneath the bed, "I'm not allowed to take this to the playground because I'll lose it, but there's this one hero that looks like dad's fiend."
"Mr. Yagi looks nothing like All Might." F/n huffed, inserting the CD to the player.
"Yes, he does, stupid." Katsuki muttered as he grabbed the remote, but before he could press play, a pillow was thrown at him. "Call me stupid again and I'll throw one of these toys at you."
"No! Not my All Might!" Izuku cried out as he tried grabbing the action figure from F/n's hand who only held it up higher from him, "Please!"
Rolling his eyes, Hitoshi grabbed a bowl that had a few kernels. He left to retrieve some more, though not without noticing the tiny smile on Shoto's face, one he'd most definitely tell Shota about. As for Shoto, although his family might be more abnormal than most, it's not so bad. He'll have to get used to what he'll no longer have and that's fine by him, because for once, he'll have a place to call his home; his family.Â

It was the time that F/n dreaded most of the day. School was over and after letting Shota know that no one was going to be home since they signed up for study clubâone that he was shocked to hearâF/n stood outside the hall where the room was located, leaning against the wall as they mumbled underneath their breath. While Momo and Shoto were inside, finishing up in decorating, the others would soon be here and that also meant Tenya, who F/n isn't ready to speak with. Lots of words are to be said, but knowing him, he'd want to hear F/n's wrong actions and most importantly, a heartfelt apology that beats all other F/n's apologies.
"You're going to screw this up." Wiping the sweat off their forehead, F/n sighed out as they rolled their shoulders, "You're so pathetic, F/n..."
"Did everyone a favor for stating the obvious." Startled, F/n turned to see Katsuki and Eijiro heading towards them. "The fuck are you doing out here? "
"I'm, uh, waiting for someone." F/n said, letting their head rest against the wall while pointing at the classroom's door, "And they're still not done."
"So why not help since you weren't there during lunch? Damn Icyhot had me and Shitty hair clean up while he sat on his ass." The blonde then raised a brow as he glanced at their nervous figure, "Who are you waiting for?"
"Oh, don't tell me you actually invited Neito." Eijiro readjusted his bag on his shoulder, "Hanta told me you started talking to him again, which is crazy because didn't he call you a dog?"
"Seriously?" Katsuki scoffed at them, "After all the shit you've done you still want to get back with him? Everyday there's always something different going on with you."
F/n rolled their eyes, "Why does everyone think I'm planning on getting back together? You know we were friends before we started dating? I was friends with him even before me and Tenya dated."
"And when was that?" Eijiro sarcastically laughed, "The first time you got together, or the second, or was it the third?"
"Fuck you." F/n said, throwing him the bird.
"He was looking for you by the way. Something about his phone dying and will text you later, I don't know, I couldn't give a rat's ass." Looking down the hall and seeing the rest of the club members, "Anyways, you two getting back together will be the biggest mistake of your life. ...Then again you have a lot of that."
"No I don't." F/n mumbled, ignoring Eijiro taunting them as they both headed inside the room.
"How long is this going to take? I want to get my hair touched up before the salon closes." Mina's voice echoed in the hallway.
"Looks like you need a couple things touched up." Hanta joked as Denki laughed.
Kyoka rolled her eyes as she entered the room with the other three following behind, "Hey, F/n."
"Hey." F/n meekly responded as their eyes latched onto the final group that was approaching.
"We should have brought snacks from the vending machine we passed." A small whine escaped Ochaco's lips as her stomach grumbled, "Let's go to the convenience store after. I'll buy for once."
"Mhm, sure." Izuku mumbled as his focus was on F/n who stupidly idle by, uncaring that their glances thrown towards his four eyed friend weren't discreet and if it weren't for F/n's awkward movements, he would have thought a tweaker was on the loose. Subtly, Tenya's paced slowed down and just before entering the classroom Izuku gave her a knowing glance that says, "Don't fuck this up."
Rolling their e/c eyes, F/n turned their attention towards the male that knew now would be the time to talk things out and get back on friendly terms, or something. Leaning in and throwing an awkward glance to the side, F/n cleared their throat, "So...how you been?"
"Good." He lightly said, gripping the straps of his bag as he looked at them. He noticed their nervous demeanor and he'd be lying if he said it didn't feel good to bring this part out of them. Having one up F/n like this always felt like a prize, "I'm amusing you're here for the club too, right? Then if you're finished we should go."
"I just started." They annoyingly mumbled, though loud enough for him to hear and seeing a brow of his raise, they backpedal, "I-I don't want to be avoiding you anymore. It's awkward and nerve wracking and just exhausting having to take certain hallways to not see you, plus you hang out with Izuku which is fine, but when I want to talk to him you just so happen to make me not want toâ"
He raised his eyebrow and shifted in his position to which F/n assumed he was leaving, having enough with wherever they were saying, so unexpectedly F/n took in a closer step, arms flailing around, "Not that it's a bad thing! You can hangout with whoever you want!"
He was startled at the sudden movement and after knowing just how close they were he had to take a step back and he was rather glad it went unnoticed. He was nervous, though unlike the one in front of him, he composed himself better, "We can both be mature about this, F/n, just get on with what you're saying so we don't hold up everyone inside."
"Okay, I just don't want to fuck up again." They mumbled.
"You already did." He simply stated whilst staring at them, though he wasn't going anywhere.
"Right." F/n whispered before taking in a breath, "I screw up. I mean I always screw up when it comes to, not like it's a surprise and every time I open my mouth to apologize you never take me seriouslyâwhich you have very right. Like c'mon, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, but fool me three times I'm going to rip your fucking mouth."
Letting out a sigh, they continued, "We've always been friends, we were good friends and we were good together even if you think differently. You aren't in any way obligated to forgive me and if I were you, I wouldn't forgive myself, but I...IÂ really..."
It's not like they were hesitating because they didn't mean it. F/n did, it just felt so pathetic, as if they were on their knees begging for his forgiveness, "I just...I just want to say that I really miss being around you."
E/c eyes burning holes in the ground, F/n swallowed a rather harsh gulp, admitting they were scared to look into those piercing navy eyes. It wasn't like they left on bad terms. Tenya broke it off without having to explain and F/n just nodded away, figuring maybe dating got in the way of his studying which left them bummed out. However, that wasn't the case as they didn't think the four eyed male would blabber to Izuku who then told Shoto who then told F/n why he did it. And, yea, being a dog, F/n deserved it.
Though, like a kicked puppy, there was no way Tenya could walk away and continue to ignore his sweet, innocent, F/n. But, what if it was all just an act? And like a fool, he'd fall for it, "..If your lyingâ"
"Yo." F/n scoffed, "I was just vulnerable with you."
"Well, do you honestly expect me to believe you?" He asked, "Would you even believe yourself if you were me?"
"Ehh.." F/n thought about it, but it's not like there was anything to even think about. Not in a million years would F/n believe someone was like...them. But desperate time calls for desperate measures.
He let out an internal sigh as his eyes focused everywhere but them. Most people don't deserve a second chance and F/n just so happens to fall in that, but this was a special case and everyone already knows he'll never say no. So why deceive the people.
"Fine, we can start over." He knew he shouldn't, but damn did he miss them, "As friends and only friends."
"Yeah, great!" They grinned, "I'm fine with that."
"And we'll take things slow." He wondered if their smile was fake, "But just as friends!"
"Totally." They crossed their heart, "You got it, Tenya."
A part of him felt like they meant something else.
Turning in his heels, he placed a hand on the door handle, "Lets go inside so we can get started."
Before he opened the door, F/n stopped him with a hand on his shoulder, "Wait!"
He turned and they sheepishlyâa face that only Tenya could seeâeyed him, "Maybe we can hug it out...for like, old time sakes."
With a simple nod, F/n wrapped their arms around him, letting their head rest against his left shoulder as their palms touched his clothed back. The best part of hugging Tenya was that he was a couple centimeters shorter and his chin sitting perfectly on their shoulder. If only he could also hug her back, that would be very appreciated, but instead F/n settled for his hands holding their forearms.
As for Tenya, a tiny smile crept on him as he closed his eyes. He was just happy that they were back to being friends and their drama is past behind, or at least for now. When he was about to pull back, his smile slowly disappeared as he could hear a faint sniff and F/n's head slowly nuzzling his hair, "Are you smelling my hair...?"
He felt their actions immediately stop. "No..?"
He pulled back, a brow raised as he questionably eyed them, "Why did that sound like a question?"
A strained grin appeared on their face, too embarrassed to admit it as they always like his smell. It just so happens at the time the door behind them slid open with a very annoyed Eijro, "Yo, c'mon we've been waiting for ten minutes and if I have to hear another loud ass sigh from Shoto, I'm going to lose my shit."
"Okay, okay, we're going." F/n rolled their eyes, unfortunately letting go of Tenya who followed behind.
"About damn time." Katsuki huffed.
"How do we do this?" Mina asked as she shuffled in her creaking chair, "Do we split into groups and start..studying?"
"Obviously." Shoto dryly replied. His voice was tuned out as F/n turned to speak to Tenya, "Hey, think you can help me with a worksheet? I'd ask Katsuki, but I don't feel like getting hit on the head every time I speak and Denki isn't much help either."
He nodded as they both sat next to each other, "What is it?"
Pulling out a crumpled up paper from their bag, F/n passed it along, "So far I only have two questions down."
With the history worksheet in hand, he glanced over at them with a deadpan face, "You're joking."
After getting a quick bite to eat at a convenience store, the group scattered as they headed home and by the time the siblings did, the stars twinkled above them. They took their shoes off, hung their scarves and Izuku's umbrella near the door before dropping their bags on the floor. The soft glow of the TV caught F/n's attention, "What's on the news today?"
"That senior home near the hospital is hosting a marathon for a brand new coffee machine." Shota tiredly replied, "There's dinner in the fridge."
"A marathon?" F/n scoffed, sitting beside him, "Those old people don't even stand a chance running let alone walking."
"Why don't you enter, dad?" Eri, who was working on her homework, asked, "You're halfway there to reaching retirement, maybe you can win us a new coffee machine since you like drinking coffee too."
"No...they're...not running." He wondered if he should feel offended at that. He was in his late 30's.
"Who's in the shower?" Katsuki harshly knocked on the door, "It's my turn!"
Burping, Hitoshi pulled out a bowl of fruit only eating the honeydew, "Shoto barely got in."
"Ew." Izuku disgustingly looked over at him, "Burp with your mouth closed."
The indigo male flipped him off, "Denki, you want coffee?"
"No way, I got to get this worksheet done and turned in tomorrow or else Mr. Ishiyama is going to make me write a ten page apology." He huffed as he turned a page from his packet.
"Should have actually done your shit during club hours." The blonde leaned against the wall with a towel draped over his shoulder, "That's why you got put in there, dumbass."
"Actually, he was trying." Izuku reviewed Denki's work, "But with Mina and F/n messing around, who could."
"It's called plugging your ears." Hitoshi said as he sat down at the table with his fruit bowl.
"And where the fuck were you?" Katsuki averted his attention to him, "Had us waiting ten fucking minutes for your ass."
"...Oops." Hitoshi sarcastically muttered with his mouth full of honeydew.
"Can't you put something else?" F/n boredly asked, "No one even likes watching the news unless someone wins the lottery."
"You have an hour before your bedtime." Shota lifted his feet up to rest on the coffee table, "That gives you time to eat, because I know you haven't eaten anything and if you did it's just junk. It also gives you time to shower, brush your teeth and do your bed."
"Why am I going to do my bed if I'm going to sleep in it?" They strangely asked.
"Because you didn't do it in the morning and you need to set up Denki's as well." He reached for the remote to switch lower the volume as he felt Eri lean against him.
"Well, what's the point of doing my bed if I'm just going to sleep in it?" They scoffed.
"Do you wipe your ass after knowing you still got to shit later?"
In the kitchen, Denki and Katsuki laughed.
"Fine." F/n huffed, rolling their eyes. When the news moved onto their next story, F/n perked up as it showed one of the members of their favorite band; The League of Villains. They reached for the remote and turned it up, "Yo, The League of Villains are on the news!"
"No way." Denki and Hitoshi quickly rushed over with Katsuki and Izuku slowly making their way. "Their band fucking sucks."
"Is that why they have won many awards?" Izuku snarkily asked, though he received a punch to his upper arm.
Door opening and steam exiting, Shoto heard running steps, having him curious he left his dirty clothes in his room before making his way to where the others were.
"Aint that the Emperor?" Shushing Hitoshi, F/n leaned in and increased the volume, "Maybe he wants them to perform."
"F/n, please lower the volume." Shota said as he tried grabbing the remote from them.
"-in other words, one of the members from the so called rockstars, League of Villains, posted a blog about the Prime Minister, reaching 3 million views and he is coming in with a very serious accusation. Could even ruin his career. The drummer who goes by the name, Dabi-"
"Wait, Prime Minister?" The freckle male whispered, glancing at the blonde who also looked over at him, "Isn't that...?"
"What's the Prime Minister?" Eri whispered as she noticed their sudden worried look and being the youngest, she didn't know much.
"F/n, give me the remote now." Sitting up, feet placed on the floor, Shota grabbed the remote as the one beside him didn't hesitate. Their sudden noise overpowered the footsteps that were coming in from behind.
"-as of now, there has been no response and it's expected to not receive any response from Enji Todor-"
The living room was dark, the TV had been turned off and the only light source was from the kitchen, but a silhouette blocked it from fully entering the room. Slowly glancing at the lone boy, his face was stoic, as usual, there was no telling whether there was a hint of sorrow from the children's eyes, but in Shota's, he saw the same little boy he did 10 years ago, at their first meeting in the orphanage building.Â

When the weekend is over, the weekday has started. Alarm ringing, Shota was the first to wake up. He woke up earlier than everyone since he had to get himself ready. Annoyingly enough, as a teacher, parents are expected for them to be professionally dressed and be a modern citizen to their kids unless he wished to be criticized for every lint. However, through his many years of teaching and the constant nagging of entitled parents who think they not only own him, but his classroom as well, heâs had the misfortunes of training his ears to block them.
The first step of his routine was making a light breakfast, so stepping out of his room towards the kitchen he passed by Denki who slept on the couch. Placing a box of healthy cerealsâsaid by companyâon the table and a bowl of fruit that needs to be finished before expiration, he headed back into his room to get dressed.
About forty something minutes later, everyone was out the door and inside the van, getting a ride to school as it was too cold to be walking and with the sidewalks frozen, Shota wasnât too keen on his kids coming to school with a broken tailbone. Another couple minutes later they arrived at school, mingling with their friends.
âF/n, did you finish last week's assignment?â Kyoka asked as she sat in Izuku's seat for the meantime, âI only need the last question and itâs been overdue.â
âDoes it look like I get my assignments done before the due date?â They asked, typing away at their phone.
âYouâre so reliable.â She sarcastically said with a roll of her eyes and turned to Hanta, âYou get yours done?â
âMina has it.â Shooting noises emitted from his phone, âI kind of guessed on them all, so I donât think I got them right.â
Huffing, Kyoka eyed the room, âIs there anyone here whoâs actually helpful.â
Just as she said that, Shoto entered the classroom with Momo tagging behind. They were scoping out a couple classrooms for her club and they wanted to get it done before other clubs that were on the waitlist took the good ones. Papers in hand, Shoto threw one down at F/nâs desk before proceeding to the others, âSign it before next class.â
âWhat is it?â Looking it over, F/n spun around to face the heterochromia male, âYou were actually serious?â
âYes.â He nodded as he headed over to Izuku who sat by Ochaco.
âMeh.â Kyoka shrugged as she signed her paper, âAt least someoneâs willing to help.â
Rolling their eyes, F/n signed it and returned back to her phone, âHey, Shoto, can Neito join?â
âNeito!?â Hanta snapped his head at them, brows raised almost to his hairline, but most importantly, heart racing at the mention of his names escaping their lips.
âWait a second, I thought you and Neito were over?â The short-haired girl questionably eyed F/n.
âWeâre friends.â F/n stated, texting the certain crazy blonde.
âFriends?â Scoffing, Hanta glanced at their phone, hoping to see a text that could mean something other than friends, âYou canât be friends with your exâs. It always leads to you dating them again.â
âHeâs right.â Shoto nodded, âThereâs Tenya for example.â
âYeah, him and two other examples." Kyoka chuckled, âBut, seriously, we know where you two will end up.â
Standing up, F/n mumbled underneath their breath, annoyed at their remarks, âAssholes.â
Seeing them head for the classroom door, Hanta stood up as well, âWait, where are you going? Class is about to start?â
âTo go find Denki.â They turned back to glare at them, âAt least heâd understand.â
The scent of F/nâs shampoo or body wash hit Momo and Tenyaâs nose. That oh-so familiar hit sent the four eyed male back and for Momo it tickled her perfectly shaped nose. Secretly, they were listening in on F/nâs conversation and while the vice representative wasnât familiar with the blonde, the other male knew him quite well. After their breakup, he heard from Izuku that F/n had started dating Neito after spotting them holding hands. It wasnât even a week! Either way, hearing F/n was talking to their ex, struck a disappointing feeling in them.
âThis is going to be so exciting!â Ochaco handed Momo the club sign up sheet, âIâm so glad thereâs going to be a study club. Do you know how many people in here need that?â
She subtly glanced over to the other side where Denki, Hanta, Mina and F/n sat, âYouâll be helping a lot of people out.â
Smiling, Momo looked towards the classroom door, âIâm glad, I just wished other people were willing to see how exciting it is to get their grades up. When I first thought of the idea, I didnât think anyone was willing to join, but then I brought it to Shoto and he was willing to help.â
âHow come you didnât think of that, Tenya?â Izuku asked him.
âBecause I had other important matters.â He responded, âAnd we all know no one would join. You had Shoto sign all your names without even asking.â
âTrue.â Izuku shrugged, âBut, you could have done something other than a study club. Itâs good if the club leader is someone with impeccable grades and we get good recognition for college.â
Eyeing him, Tenya crossed his arms as he mumbled underneath his breath, âSometimes, I feel like thatâs all you see me as.â
Nervously chuckling, Izuku stood up and headed for his seat as the bell rang, âOf course notâŠâ
As the students scattered to their classroom and with the teacher joining in, long boring hours of lectures began. While Hizashi was rather enthusiastic about teaching stuff that none of the students would remember when they reach adulthood, in their seat, F/n carefully munched on some sweet, soft, yet a bit sour candy thanks to Denki. With Hizashiâs loud voice, nobody in the front area could be able to hear the crinkle of the bag.
For those around F/n, no one bothered to rat them out since they were friends. Except for that black-hair ponytail girl who was the vice class representative that sat behind them, but F/n was sure she wouldnât say anything with how discreet they were. What F/n didnât know was that Momo already knew she was snacking away instead of learning and if she didnât hold a small tiny crush on F/n, she would have said something.
So when Momo heard another crinkle of the bag, she let out a small sigh as she looked down to her paper where sheâs written information in neat handwriting. She knows as the vice class representative she would need to correct F/nâs behaviour, but sheâs never spoken to them. She just transferred to class 1-A and in the midst of her excitement, her eyes latched onto F/nâs back and she didnât think such a crush would emerge, after all, there was nothing special about F/n. The only thing they had was their attractiveness, but despite shooing away flowers that emerged every time Momo glanced at them, her small crush would never go away.
Perhaps, speaking to F/n would help the heart palpitationâthat messed with her schoolingâgo away. However, slowly glancing at the back of F/nâs figure, another sigh was let out and she instead looked back down to her boring sheet of paper.
Hearing that sigh, Shoto glanced at his friend. Itâs no lie he was very observant, so when he spotted the occasional glances thrown at F/n, his eyes moved to the candy bag in their hands. Picking up his eraser, he threw it towards F/n, successfully hitting the side of their head.
âDude, ow.â F/n whispered, turning around while rubbing the spot and glaring at Shoto, âThe hell was that for?â
âI want some candy.â He extended his arm, âGive it.â
âNot even a please?â They scoffed and with Hizashiâs back was faced towards them, they handed Shoto the bag, âDonât finish it you fat fuck.â
With the bag in his hands, he took some for himself before looking at Momo. He figured her eying his sibling and looking sad was because she craved some sweets, âDo you want some?â
âU-uh,â She stammered, eyeing him before looking back up to see if their teacher was looking. He wasnât, as instead F/n had begun to turn around and with wide eyes, they met and when F/n smiled at her, petals of bloomed flowers fluttered around as a coat of blush dusted her cheeks, â...O-okay, thank youâŠâ
Hearing and smelling candy, Fumikage turned around. The three students froze and when he raised his hand, they flinched as they feared he would rat. However, his hand was extended to them from his lap and bundled in his palms were a cup of noodles, âIâll give you some if you give me some.â
Grinning, F/n snatched the bag and handed it to Fumikage.
The lunch bell rang after excruciating hours. With the cafeteria cluttered in noise, Kyoka annoyingly sighed at her phone, âThe League of Villains are ruining all my gigs. Theyâre already a famous band, so why are they going to small setups instead of concerts?â
Slurping on the rest of Fumikage noodles that had turned cold, F/n looked out the cafeteria window, âWhen are they coming? Iâve been meaning to go to their concert, but they havenât been doing any shows near us.â
âYou are not going to their concert if theyâre taking my opportunity to become famous.â She placed her phone down, âTheyâre not even underground and how did a bunch of grown men and one teenager even get famous?â
ââCause theyâre smoking hot. Especially that Tomura guy.â F/n responded after swallowing, âShit, the things Iâd do to him.â
âUhâŠâ Denki eyed them, a bead of sweat rolling down the side of his face, âYou have questionable taste in men.â
âLook whoâs talking.â F/n glared at him.
âAt least my ladies are around my age.â Denki chomped down on some chicken bites, âYours are old as hell.â
âHeâs twenty one.â F/n pointed their chopsticks at him, âThat's like a five year age gap. Besides, as long as Iâm the one in control, thereâs nothing wrong with that.â
âFirst of all, gross. Second of all, that's gross." Kyoka eyed them weirdly, âAnd third of all, where the hell did everyone go? Donât tell me we got ditched.â
âMaybe they got tired of F/n exâs staring at us.â Denki shrugged, stuffing another spoonful in his mouth, âOr they got tired of you.â
âPlease!â F/n boastfully exclaimed, a grin rising and placing a hand on their chest, âNo one can get tired of this face!â
âI can.â All heads turned to Hitoshi and his tired attitude received a glare from F/n, âCome help me find this book for one of my classes.â
âWhy me?â F/n finished the rest of their noodles, âGo ask Katsuki. He knows where every book is.â
âAnd he claims he isnât a bookworm.â Kyoka said as she gathered her supplies, âLetâs go F/n, I need to turn in a book anyways.â
Standing with his meal, Denki ate quicker as he followed behind, âDo you think the librarian will notice me eating?â
While they headed for the library, in a room that would now be used as Momoâs club, Eijiro and Katsuki reluctantly helped Shoto prepare the club room that would be used after school. Today would be the first day and while the others werenât as excited as Momo was, the heterochromia was happy to help his very dear friend.
Coughing like an old man whose allergies had been acting up, Katsuki waved his hand in the air trying to get rid of any dust that lingered in the supply closet, âNo way in hell are we going to host that club here!â
âYeah, Shoto.â Eijiro coughed into his arm, âI get that youâre doing this to help a friend out, but wouldnât it be better for Momo to wait a couple more months for a better room? I heard that the cult club was shutting down, so maybe Momo could put in her request for that room.â
âAll it needs is a little clean up.â Shoto said as he sat on a desk with a book in his hand, âAnd do you know how long Momo had to wait for this room to even be open?â
âHow long?â The red-head asked, wiping the windows with a rag.
âA week.â The sound of his book turning a page was heard.
Turning his head to the youngest male, an eye of the blondeâs twitch, â..And why the hell are you sitting around?â
âI did most of the work.â Shoto uncaringly replied, âSo that means I get to do nothing and make sure you donât miss any dirty spots.â
Throwing the dirty rag away, Eijiro asked the two-toned male, âAnd when you mean you did most of the work, you meanâŠ?â
âLooking for this room.â Shoto replied, âWhereâs Izuku? Heâs supposed to be helping.â
âProbably sucking Pink cheekâs face.â The blonde grunted as he pulled a desk from the closet. There were only two in there, so theyâd need to ask for more, "Have him clean the bathroom for not being hereâbetter yet, have him haul those extra desks from next door.â
âNah, Izuku doesn't have the balls to move to second base.â Eijiro chuckled before it turned into a laugh, âHeâs not even on first base!â
Throwing a box of kleenex at the red-headsâŠhead, Shoto huffed as he checked the time on his phone, âLess talking, more working. We have to get this done before lunch ends. Momo still needs to decorate this place.â
âTsk, then she should be here.â Eijiro mumbled as he rubbed the side of his head, âAnd no way weâre going to get this done, we have fifteen minutes left.â
âWhich is why you shut your mouth and keep working.â Katsuki annoyingly said as he set the last desk down with a loud bang and pointed at Shoto, âAnd you better be paying us for doing this shit for free. Be fucking lucky Iâm even showing up to help a bunch of dumbasses who couldnât study even if a gun was pointed to their head.âÂ

Hearing the wind howling and the soft gray hue of the sky touching his closed eyelids, Shota laid in his bed, waiting for his ears to pick up any footsteps or voices of his kids, but with the household being quiet he steadily opened his eyes. Light peeking through the crack of the bedroom curtains, Shota let out a quiet groan as he reached down to his floorboard where his usual black long-sleeve shirt rested. Clock reading 7:39 AM, he stood up and placed his slippers before leaving his bedroom.
Upping the heater as the home was chilly he peered into the living room where a makeshift bed was placed in the middle and the coffee table was moved next to the small bookshelf. Sleeping peacefully on the makeshift bed was Izuku who had F/n's legs over his lower body to which Hitoshi hogged their covers. On the other side of Izuku with an arm laying across his neck, and warmly snuggled up to him, Denki's quiet snores rang out.
Moving his dark eyes to the couches, Katsuki and Shoto, safe from F/n and Denki's limbs. Heading to Shoto, he picked up the sleeping male blankets that draped over and neatly covered his body that shivered from the cold. Once seeing his kids all sleeping, he headed to the kitchen where he grabbed pancake powder, milk, eggs and butter. Stove clicking, Shota pulled his sleeves to his elbows and began to prepare breakfast.
Flipping a pancake, he cracked two eggs open where it fell onto a pan. Letting it sizzle, he pulled out a bowl of chopped up fruits from yesterday and set it on the table where he also placed a jug of orange juice.
The smell of buttery pancakes woke Eri and despite wanting to continue off to dreamland, she reluctantly sat up just as her stomach grumbled. A plush robe in one hand she opened her bedroom door and headed to the kitchen, ignoring the living room where one of her siblings or Denki farted, "Morning, dad..."
"Morning." He gave her a small glance, but after seeing her hair which could be described as a bird's nest he kept his eyes on it, "Jeez, we're going to have to give you a haircut."
"No!" She yelled, pulling her seat out, "I love my hair! The girls in my class always braidit since I'm the only one with long hair and Rin hates that people like my hair. It makes me happy to know I have something that she's jealous of."
"But it's getting in the way." He ignored her last statement, "When summer comes you're going to want to cut it off."
Grabbing a plate from the cabinets he set it in front of her as he placed three pancakes as well as fruits on her plate, "Maybe just a trim."
She shook her head as she headed for the fridge to grab syrup, "No, I like styling my hair and like I said, seeing Rin looking at my hair and then touching hers with a sad face makes me happy."
"I need to put a muzzle on Katsuki." Shota grumbled as he returned to the stove, filling the pan with the remaining batter of pancake, "Finish eating and get dressed. You have an appointment today."
She whined as she poured herself some juice, "But, it's cold and it's the weekend and Izuku promised they'd make a snowman with me."
"It's cold to go to the dentist, but not cold to make a snowman?" He said, looking over at her to which she sheepishly smiled, "Get dressed and I'll buy you new gloves. You left your gloves out last time and they're frozen solid."
Letting out a sigh, she placed a sliced melon in her mouth, "Fine."
Couch groaning, Katsuki turned to sleep on his left side, but since he had forgotten where he was sleeping a turn was all it took for him to fall off the couch and land on the heads of those sleeping on the floor.
"What the fuck.." Hitoshi jumped, quickly sitting up as he clutched his blanket, glaring at the blonde.
"My fucking head..." Denki cried out as he clutched his head that had been slammed by Katsuki's big head, "Dude, that shit hurts..."
Moving the blonde's leg, F/n looked beside them and laughed, "You think you got it bad? Look at Izuku."
Ignoring them, Shoto reached for his phone under his pillow and headed for the kitchen. Passing by Shota who was finishing the last pancake, Shoto grabbed a plate before seating himself on the table and serving himself, "What are we doing today?"
"I got to take Eri, Izuku and Katsuki to the dentist." Shota replied, "I don't know how long I'll take, but there's leftovers from last night."
"Is Izuku finally getting braces?" Shoto asked, placing a slice of pancake in his mouth while pouring syrup on the rest, "Maybe getting those teeth straightened out will finally get him Ochaco."
"Ha! He wishes." Katsuki grabbed one of Shoto's pancakes, "Am I getting my braces removed?"
"No, just a checkup." Turning off the stove, Shota placed the last of the pancakes on the table, "The rest of you, get over here before I leave."
Once breakfast was over, Hitoshi cleared up the table while Denki and F/n washed the dishesâwell more like Denki as F/n lazily dried the dishes up as they talked about something the blonde couldn't care about. The ones heading to the appointment were getting dressed.
"So," Shoto started as he was still seated at the kitchen table with his phone in hand, "did I tell you that I put us all in Momo's club?"
"Yeah, and why the fuck would you do that?" F/n annoyingly said, "First, it's not even a club to be excited about, it's study. Second, it's only us and third, who the fuck is Momo?"
"She's that chick that sits behind you." Denki eyed them, almost wishing F/n was joking, "You know, the class representative."
Looking at him, F/n raised a brow, "Isn't that..Tenya?'
"She's vice." Shoto rolled his eyes, "Anyways, since we're all in, don't you think you and Tenya should make up? It's overdue."
"Mind your business." F/n glared at him before returning back to their dishes, "Anyways, how do you know Momo? She your type?"
"She's my friend." He gave them a dead stare, "Unlike you I don't think about getting with anybody who I talk to."
Denki laughed as he turned off the sink, ignoring the small glare F/n sent him, "He's got a point."
"You're on the same boat, Denki." Shoto replied.
F/n laughed.
Entering the living room with papers in his hand, most likely his kids information, Shota reached for the hooks by the door where scarfs were hanged. Following behind him were Eri, Izuku and Katsuki. While the two older ones placed their scarves and beanies on, Shota helped Eri, "Okay, I'll be back and please make sure not to make a mess or invite anyone overâI'm talking to you F/n."
They scoffed, "Got it, dad."
"And if you guys get hungry, there is food in the fridge." After placing Eri's beanie on, he gave Katsuki the key to start the car, "And please, for the love of god, do not do anything that will get the police called. The neighbors are already tired of us and I do not need another complaint because one of you decided to harass them."
"Fuck the neighbors." Hitoshi said, plopping himself on the big couch and turning the TV on, "People need to mind their damn business."
"Bunch of nosy ass bitches." F/n mumbled.
Letting out a sigh, Shota stepped out the door and before leaving he gave them a final warning, "Be. Good."
With the door shut, Shoto stood up, "Anyone need to use the bathroom?" I'm taking a shower before the hot water's gone."
"Nah." F/n set the rag aside and headed for the living room where Denki followed after drying his hands. They sat beside Hitoshi who played a boring romcom and while it was sappy, F/n clutched a pillow as they reminisced about those fun times they had with Tenya. Now, it'll just be a distant memory of longing and just at the thought had a quiet sigh releasing from them. Eyes lingering on the male lead, he reminded F/n of Tenya.
At the clinic in the waiting room, Shota readjusted Eri's beanie as it was beginning to cover her left eye. He noticed the pom-pom on the beanie was barely hanging by a thread, its charm, which was a blinged apple, was keeping it together. Next to the stitch of the pom was a small hole. As for her scarf, there were a few small holes, nothing he couldn't stitch. While she read a children's book provided by the office, he moved his eyes towards Izuku and Katsuki who were looking at their phones. From what he could see, their beanies needed to be replaced as well, but with spring right around the corner, those old beanies will have to wait to be replaced till next winter.
"Shota, Eri, Izuku and Katsuki Aizawa?" A sweet voice called out by a door where patients enter to be seen. In her hand, the nurse looked around for the family and once seeing them stand up and approach her she smiled, "Hello, can I get your birthdates?"
After stating each of their dates, they all headed down the hallway as the nurse held her clipboard, "So, we'll be checking in on Katsuki first, mainly because it is the fastest one to get done. For Izuku the dentist will have an x-ray done since you were wanting to get braces for him and for the youngling, we'll do a cleaning procedure."
Looking back, she batted her eyes at Shota, which the older kids noticed, "That sounds fine to you?"
"Yes." Shota, who was oblivious to the action, replied, "If Izuku does happen to need braces, will we be able to do it during a weekend?"
"You can make an appointment with the dentist, but yes, we do make sure that we accommodate your schedule. Just be sure to mention that." She smiled at him as they reached their room. She opened the door and let them in, "Your doctor will be with you in just a moment."
Door closing behind, Katsuki took a seat on the dental chair, eyeing the tools that were going to be used on Eri, "Damn, someone's getting a shot to their mouth."
"What!?" Horrified, Eri looked at Shota, "I thought you said they were going to clean my teeth!"
"They are." Shota sent a scolding look at Katsuki, "And it's not a shot, it's just something to numb your mouth so you won't taste anything bad."
Sitting up to peer over Katsuki, she could see the small table where she saw metal tools neatly lying on a piece of blue paper. Skeptical, she eyed her dad, "That looks exactly like a needle..."
"Well, how about a lesson for not brushing your teeth after eating candy." Shota sighed, placing his left leg over his right as he adjusted his papers in hand.
"Remember when I was nine and had grey teeth after Halloween." Izuku chuckled at the memory.
"Yes, and let's hope Eri doesn't have to get any of that." The dad said, feeling his phone vibrate in his pocket he pulled it out.
"Are they going to tell you when I get my braces off?" With his tongue, Katsuki swirled it over the cold metal braces attached to his pearly white teeth, "I keep biting the inside of my cheek and I can't eat shit without getting annoyed."
"It's only been a year." Hearing the door clicking open, Shota placed his phone back in his pockets, "You wanted them to."
The blonde rolled his eyes as the dentist came in. Looking at the family, the dentist found it rather odd that none of them resembled Shota and he figured they might look like their mother, but even then that didn't explain why they looked different. There was no lie at the slight attractiveness the tired male looked, but it was frowned upon to have so many baby mama's, "Big family, huh?"
"Oh, yeah, I've got about six kids." Eri looked up and smiled at Shota's response, letting her father ruffle her hair.
"Two dipshits, two squeakers, and one lazy fuck." Katsuki mumbled, receiving a kick from Shota at the insult.
"Which one do you fall in?" Izuku asked, snickering at the glare the blonde sent him. "The one where I fucking beat you."
Taken back by Shota's response, the dentist whistled as he sat on his stool, "Wow, you've certainly gotten busy. You love kids?"
"The ones I have." He received another big smile from Eri.
After the dentist and after doing a bit of grocery for tonight's dinner, with a click of a button, Shota's car locked as he hauled grocery bags inside the home. The cold air that had settled on his tired face was hit with the warmth of his home, allowing him to let out a content sigh, "Start putting the stuff away so I can make food."
"'Kay." F/n stood up and entered the kitchen.
"Here dipshits." Grabbing a bag of chips, Katsuki threw it over to Hitoshi and Shoto, "They only had these."
"Thanks." Shoto eagerly opened the spicy potato chips, handing a chip over to Hitoshi and Denki who were busy playing a video game.
Hearing the bag crinkle, Shota glanced at the three on the sofa, "Eat before you eat your chips."
"Already did." The three replied.
Stove clicking and a couple ingredients set aside, Shota rolled his sleeves and prepared for lunch.
After a couple long hours, with Shota grading school papers for tomorrow, he heard the back door open that was down the hallway. A glance at the kitchen window, he could see specs of snow starting to fall and while the news displayed no winter storm, he didn't want his children to get a cold and miss school, "Whichever one of you is leaving, you better be covered from head to toe. I'm not calling you off for school if you get sick."
"Me, Denki, Izuku and Eri are going out to the backyard for a while!" F/n yelled before slamming the door.
Sliding a paper to the side, he heard Katsuki's loud footsteps coming down the hallway with Shoto's voice just behind. "What if we get a disease from asbestos or from that old guy that died in the attic? That one guy from 2-B sneaked in last week and said it still smells like a rotting corpse. They didn't even bulldoze the building; they just slapped a new nameâand remember last year when three people died there? Murder, suicide and hypothermia."
"Oh, my fucking god." Katsuki annoyingly mumbled.
"Where are you two going?" Shota asked, continuing to grade his papers.
"This bowling place opened up near the mall." The blonde grunted as he struggled putting on his boots, "They're having a raffle going on for a computer and skateboard. Eijiro and I are going to try and rig it."
"Skateboard?" Shota mumbled, "Sidewalks are covered in snow."
"We'll be back before the sun's down." Shoto said as he placed his scarf on and closed the door.
In the backyard, making a snowman from Eri's request, F/n and Denki helped make the lower body, "We should have gone to the new bowling place. At least our asses would be kept warm."
F/n rolled their eyes, "Denki, if you want to go so bad then go. The only reason why I'm not going is because of, you know."
"Just apologize, F/n." Izuku chimed in as he helped Eri with the head, " You spent the entire month we were out of school avoiding Tenya. You dated Neito, Mina, Toru, Tsuyu, Yuga, Sestuna, Sen, and Mei."
"All in two months by the way." Denki added.
"Correction, I've never dated Mei and how the fuck did you know I've was with Mina?" They huffed, "Not to mention, I've only dated Toru for a month and Tsuyu didn't even know we were dating."
"That's still dating." The freckle male stated matter-as-fact.
"Not if the other party didn't know." After the lower body was done, F/n moved onto the middle part of the snowman.
"So, then that makes you inexperienced?" Denki joked, receiving a snowball thrown at his arm.
"How do I know if someone I'm dating doesn't know we're dating?" The light light-blue haired girl asked, looking at the three.
"You'll know because we'll beat them up." F/n ruffled her beanie, messing her hair up in the process.
Smiling, she nodded and continued back on placing pebbles for the face, "Okay!"
"On a real note, just apologize." Grunting, Denki picked up the middle part of the snowman and placed it to the lower body they set it aside earlier, "Every knows you were in the wrong, anyways, so man up. Quit having everyone choose sides."
"Since when did I ask for people to choose sides?" They rolled their eyes.
"Since you two distanced yourselves." Picking up the head and adding the final touch to the snowman, Izuku handed Eri a carrot, lifting her up so she can place its nose, "Go find sticks for the arm."
"Let's make babies next to it!" Once she placed the nose, Izuku placed her down and she quickly kneeled on the snow and began to make snowballs, "We'll make six, so we are each of themâoh, but I guess we'll need to make one more for Denki."
"Just grab a rock and make that one DenkiâOw!" Izuku flinched and glared at F/n, "What was that for!?"
Reeling their hand back, they grinned as they threw another one, this time aiming at Izuku's face, "Snowball fight!"
"F/n, that hit my nose!" Izuku yelled as he kneeled down to grab a fist of snow, "Dad said we can't get siâ!"
Another ball made contact with his face and Denki's laugh holed through the small backyard, "Loser has to sleep on the floor tonight!"
"Seriously?!" Izuku wiped the bits of snow off his eyebrows, "Why do you always do this to me!?"
Rolling her ruby eyes, Eri continued to make her tiny snowmen that resemble her siblingsâand Denki.Â

Chowing down his food with a smile, Denkiâs stomach was happy to have a nice warm meal after eating microwavable ones. Itâs safe to say with Shota watching out for him like his own kidâa thought that Denki liked to believeâheâd live a good long life, âThanks, Mr. Aizawa. Itâs really good!â
âThank you, but please eat slower.â Shota said as he helped Eri cut up her food since it involved a sharp knife, âOr youâll choke on your food.â
âHe said choke.â Hitoshi snickered into his bowl of rice with F/n also snickering beside her.
âYou guys are so immature.â Katsuki rolled his eyes as he placed a spoonful into his mouth.
âAnd nasty.â Izuku glared at them, âChew with your mouth closed!â
âWhy? You donât want to see any of this?â F/n opened her mouth filled with food and leaned over Hitoshi to Izuku.
âEw!â Izuku shoved her back.
âF/n, please.â Shota eyed her, âNot at the table. Weâre eating.â
âLike thatâll stop her.â Shoto chimed in as he watched their ridiculous behavior.
âMy friend eats with her mouth open.â Eri swallowed her food with a smile, âI think itâs because her teeth are weird.â
âYâknow who elseâs teeth are weird?â The family all looked towards Izuku. The said male glared at them, âIâm getting braces soon!â
âLike thatâll help.â Shoto looked at his teeth from across the table, âI can see them from here.â
Izuku glanced at Shota before looking at the dual-haired male and mouthed at him, âFuck you.â
âOoh,â Shoto looked at Shota, âhe said a bad word.â
âEat and then argue.â Shota said. He then looked at Denki, âI let your parents know youâre here, but be sure to let them know if youâll be going out.â
When Denki gave him a perplexed look as if saying, why on earth would I let my absent parents who couldnât give a damn about me know what Iâm doing, Shota continued, âI may be your guardian for the time being, but Iâm sure your parents would appreciate them knowing what their child was up to and not getting into any problems.â
Even Shota himself didnât believe that, but it wasnât like he was going to tell Denki that his parents didnât even show an ounce of worriedness during the conference. Bad grades. Failed test. Lack of motivation. Procrastination and poor study habits. The only good quality Denki had was having perfect attendance though Shota believed it was because he had his friends. When he mentioned the young student having a great attendance, his parents were too busy ordering a margarita.
However, whoâd want to tell someone's kid that.
âAs if they care.â Katsuki glared down at his food. To see his friend hide his sadness with his jokes never sat right with him. Even he felt sad when he had to come to sleepover because his parents left once again.
Throwing carrots at the blonde, F/n narrowed their eyes, âDouchebag. You donât just say shit like that.â
âCall me that again, I dare you.â Katsuki lifted his own carrots, ready to throw at her.
âKnock it off, you two.â Shota then looked at Katsuki, âAnd watch what you say.â
âOh, no itâs okay.â Denki awkwardly chuckled, âI texted them before I arrived here.â
âDid they respond?â Izuku glanced at him. He got his answer when the male shrugged, âNah, but itâs fine. Itâs probably nighttime where theyâre at.â
They couldnât help but feel out for him.
âDo you mind if I get another plate?â Denki asked as he looked at Shota.
The tired male nodded, a small smile on his lips as Denki always asked for seconds, sometimes third since he was six, âGo ahead.â
âHey, while you're up there, get me water.â Hitoshi raised his cup.
âGet me some too.â Shoto also raised his glass with Katsuki following, âIf you're doing theirs, do mine.â
âMine fourth.â F/n grinned at him.
âYou guys are lazy.â Izuku rolled his eyes, âDid your legs stop working all of sudden.â
âYour mouth is gonna stop working once I shove my fist in it.â Katsuki glared at Izuku who also flared back.
âOkay!â Denki happily grinned as he grabbed F/nâs first. His chest swirling with happiness to even be included.
After dinner, they all headed to the living room where they moved the coffee table and placed blankets on the floor as well as pillows. They turned the TV on, leaving Katsuki and Izuku to go against each other in a fighting game.
Shota turned the kitchen light off, âDonât make too much noise. I donât need the neighbors calling on the police again because they thought someone was getting murdered.â
Shoto glanced at Katsuki, âTell that to him.â
âFuck off!â The blonde clenched his teeth as Izuku was beating him.
âCuss jar.â Hitoshi said as he passed him the jar that was above the computer.
The blonde rolled his eyes, âMoney is in my room.â
âAgain,â Shota wiped his tired eyes, âdon't be loud and donât stay up too late. You all have school tomorrow.â
Hearing the commotion, Eri headed to the living room, âCan I stay up with them?â
âNot today.â Shota ushered her to her room, âTheyâre going to watch a horror movie.â
âAw..â Eri whined and headed to her bed, âGoodnight then.â
âGoodnight Eri!â They all shouted.
âDonât forget to lock the doors.â Shota said as he followed the youngest to her bedroom where she awaited for a bedtime story.
âWhat about this one?â F/n held her gym shorts, âItâll fit you.â
âWhat are you guys doing?â Shota asked as he grabbed a children book from the closet then seated himself on Eriâs bed.
âI forgot to pack my sleeping clothes.â Denki sweat dropped, âI only brought jeans.â
âYeah, so Iâm giving him one of mine.â F/n then grabbed another one, âWhat about this one. Itâs black and yellow.â
Shota opened the book up, âYou left a pair last time. Itâs in the closet with your blankets.â
âOh shit!â F/n ran off, âHurry up, I want to play a round of a game before we watch a movie.â
âAh, hold up!â Denki followed after her, but he returned to the room to thank Shota, âThanks, Mr. Aizawa.â
âHere.â F/n handed him his shorts before grabbing his blankets , âJust change here.â
âUh, what happened to modesty?â Denki said, but quickly changed.
âSurprised you even know what that means.â F/n chuckled as she handed him his covers and threw his jeans inside the closet, âShotoâs fat self already got the snacks. We just have to make the popcorn.â
âIâm taking the big couch.â Katsuki said, glaring at the others.
âIâm taking the other.â Shoto placed his blankets and pillow on it.
Hitoshi groaned as he shut the computer off, âI got to sleep with F/n and Denki? They take up all the room.â
âYouâre sleeping on the edge.â Izuku crossed his arm, âImagine how I feel. Iâm sleeping in the middle, next to F/n.â
âWe promise not to take up the room.â F/n said placing the popcorn bowl and herself onto the makeshift bed, âOr at least I wonât.â
Denki grinned and shared a look with F/n, âWe will.â
âOr-or.â Izuku grabbed a deck of cards from the computer desk as he did not want to sleep beside them, âLoser has to sleep next to F/nâand no helping, F/n.â
âYouâre on.â Katsuki threw his controller and sat next to them, âLoser also pays when we get food.â
âFuck it.â Hitoshi joined in and grabbed his cards. He then handed a deck to Shoto but the male refused, âCâmon, we all play.â
âI already know Iâm going to lose.â Shoto shrugged, âI hate playing cards.â
âPussy.â Katsuki grinned as he looked at his cards.
âWeâll see whoâs the real pussy.â Denki grinned as he scooted closer to his best friend, discreetly showing his cards to F/n. With a nod, F/n turned her head to glance at Izukuâs card.
âAlright, ready?â They asked and upon seeing them all nod, F/n quickly flipped four cards that were in the middle and with that, the games began.
While the others were concentrating on the cards that were thrown in the middle and picked up, F/n helped Denki, taking his cards as they rapidly switched them out until they had a matching set. Shoto shook his head as he laid on the couch, his eyes looking at Hitoshiâs deck. Every now and then he would tap the indigoâs shoulder and secretly point at a card.
Katsuki was doing fine with himself. He was almost done, the only problem was that someone was hogging a card he neededâthat being F/n. On the other hand, Izuku was sweating as he couldnât see his cards. He started off good, but then his cards started to disappear and just when the round was finally over, he widened his eyes as he glared at F/n, throwing his set of cards, âI told you to not help!â
âWho said I was helping?â F/n grinned as they threw popcorn in their mouth with their other hand slapping Denkiâs hand.
âAha, loser.â Katsuki said, also slapping Hitoshiâs and Shotoâs hand for ganging up on Izuku.
âYou guys are never fair!â Izuku pointed at them, âHow come you guys always do that!â
âDuh, because you're the youngest.â Hitoshi began to pick up the cards.
âShotoâs the youngest!â Izuku pointed at the male who evilly smiled at him, âPick on him!â
âAt least he looks like the oldest.â Katsuki shrugged, âYou look like you just crawled out of your mo-â
âDude.â F/n shook their head, âNot that.â
âFine, whatever!â Izuku stood up as he huffed, âCan we just watch the movie now?â
âAlright.â
They finally all laid down with the bowl of snacks and candy surrounding them. Shoto struggled with the remote as he squinted trying to see the buttons but couldnât because of how dark the living room was. ,
The remote was then yanked out of his hand, as F/n grumbled, âTaking too damn long.â
When the credits began to roll at the beginning, the group knew this would be a good movie and it was. They pretty much pulled their blankets near their eyes, afraid that a jump scare would catch them off guard. Of course they tried to play it off saying they were cold, but they all knew the reason.
It didnât help that F/n would unexpectedly yell, scaring the males with a snicker.
They laughed and yelled and then laughed and then yelled with popcorn flying everywhere. They tried to shush themself as to not wake up Shota and Eri. During the movie, after Katsuki fell asleep, they had marked his face, all while trying not to laugh and took pictures at the end.
Like the losers they are, Izuku, Hitoshi, and Shoto soon fell asleep leaving Denki and F/n wide awake. They grew bored of the horror that was playing so they decided to head to the backyard where the trampoline that's seen better days was at.
âDo a backflip.â F/n said, jumping next to Denki, trying to get higher.
âAlright, alright, make room.â Denki jumped a few spaces back as he grinned, âIf I manage to do it, I take your bed for the time Iâm here.â
âAlright.â F/n smiled. Though it wasn't really a bet as they always let the male take their bed. F/n would rather sleep on the floor if it meant he could get a good night's sleep and besides theyâve seen his bed and it was not the best condition. Itâs no wonder heâs able to sleep in weird situations.
Jumping next to him, Denki successfully managed to do the flip, âDo a triple this time. Bet you wonât.â
âYou underestimate me.â He said while catching his breath. Who knew doing a flip would take his energy. While he tried to gain stamina, he glanced at her, âOh, hey did you hear about Mirioâs having a party next week? But, weâre not allowed âcause, duh, weâre 16.â
âWhat, for reals?â F/n huffed out, body feeling tired, but the cold air felt incredibly nice, âWe should crash it.â
He grinned at them, âYou read my mind.â
They both looked at each other and laughed, âTwinsies!â
And then he tried to do another backflip and managed to stay in the air for a while. Unfortunately, due to the moon being their light source, he missed the trampoline and stepped on the metal part where he eventually fell, âOh shit!â
âHoly shit!â F/n quickly got off and ran to him, but a grin was their lips, âDude that was fucking awesome! Are you okay?â
âOw..â Denki sat up, rubbing his elbows and hissed from the action, âI thinkâŠI broke my arm.â
âYour arms are already broken, dumbass.â F/n laughed and smiled when it was only scraped, âNah, I think you're good. We should have recorded that.â
Denki looked at them, his eyes sparkling with admiration, âAgain?â
Laughing, F/n pulled him up, âHell yeah! Let's do it together! But we should clean you up first.â
âWhat if I die?â
âIâll make sure to have people dress in suits to pretend you were in a yakuza.â
I just want to thank everyone who stuck around until the end and I greatly appreciate you all who took the time out of your day to read this mediocre fic. Honestly, this could have been down moooonths ago if I had stuck with the schedule and if hadnât re-written it. But, I hate the storyline and my creativity as well as writingâto which I have no experienceâdecided to give up on me, not to mention I left this untouched for a couple months before deciding to rush the ending. I could feel the interest in this fic dying and I figured instead of leaving it on hiatus I might as well finish. Iâve always wanted to read a zombie apocalypse fic set in the BNHA world and most of the ones I read were left discarded so I thought, why not make one myself? Didnât turn out exactly how I wanted especially after I rushed the ending which I had originally planned on three more chapters before ending this, however, Iâll leave it at that.Â
Although Iâm still a little upset about how I feel like I mischaracterized, didnât go more in depth to their story and introduce more characters, Iâm still kind of glad I at least tried. Iâm just more disappointed at how the romance felt bland. And since Iâm not a fan of that genre I could tell I needed more practice, but seeing comments about how they liked the fic was enough to make me feel happier. So, thank you very much for keeping up with me.Â
Anyways, since thatâs that, hereâs some information:Â

Three nights was all it took before a known vehicle had stormed into the gates of Sorston, pummeling what once kept the community safe of the walking dead.
It was during the night where everyone was consumed by slumber did the gates break down and molotovs were thrown, catching a house on fire and causing a chain reaction. The gunshots were what startled the people awake and some of those who were heavy sleepers near the gates did not receive light punishments. With the streets cackling in fire and shots, it was also mixed with the cold howling wind and the screams of people that once laughed.
âKatsuki!â It felt like tiny mice were scratching her throat with every yell sheâs made, âKaââ
Coughing, she stopped running as she placed her hand on her throat, hoping it would soothe it, but to no atlas. She sniffled and the sweat crawling down her face annoyed her, but that annoyance was replaced with flinches as the gunshots moved closer. She ran again, matching the pace with everyone else that ran down the streets looking for haven, but like flies some around her were gun down.
âWhere the fuck are you?â She huffed out, continuing down the streets to where Eijiro lived.
If her recurring nightmares of those she loved didnât keep her up, she would have been caught in the house fires or the intruders that barged in, killing the sleeping community before they even had a chance to escape. She had been lost in her own thoughts, she hadnât even realized Katsuki had walked through the front doors to which were beside her as she slept down in the living room. She didnât even recall him saying he would be back.
It was most likely midnight, so what the hell was he even doing out this late? She didnât know and she didnât care to solve the question as the redhead's home was in view. Pushing past people, she ran up the porch and opened the door before slamming it behind her. She huffed as her eyes wandered around the room that was lit up by a battery candle in the living room, âKatsuki..?â
Wiping her face, she pushed herself away from the door, looking around for a sign of life, âPleaseâŠwhere are you?â
While her eyes scanned her area, she made sure her ears listened to her surroundings. She wasnât going to give Tomuraâs men the advantage, so she quicken her pace, jogging up the stairs and almost tripping. Her foot slipped, but with the help of her left hand she was able to pick herself up and steady herself. Despite the noise she didnât think it would catch anyone's attention considering the cackles of the flames and the terrifying screams deafened her mistakes.
Either way, she was more occupied in the search for Katsuki. With her head running in circles, the thought of stumbling upon his body was one her nerves would freeze. However, she knew she wouldnât have to worry about that. She trusted him enough that he would keep himself safe and that alone was enough for the bile of panic that reached her throat to calm down.
Letting out a tired breath, a sniffle escaped her throat as she leaned next to what looked like Denkiâs bedroom door. In the process of looking, she had overlooked opening Hantaâs room, and she didnât have the time to notice as her next thoughts were of where else to look.
While wiping the sweat off her forehead, her eyes gazed at the floor, and she noticed that the chaos had seemed to disperse into a different area. It would have been silent if it weren't for the distant noises and in the midst of heading back down to the main floor, she stopped as her hand reached for the doorknob.
A small silent breath of fog was let out as she could just barely hear it. A soft growl coming from behind her and the cool air hitting her back. A door was probably left open for a dead to come in and surely it would soon see her if she didnât move. However, she feared that if she made one small noise it would come pouncing on her and she didnât like that as the odds were not in her favor. A sprained wrist and only a gun with a few bullets, she didnât know if there were other dead's right outside; though if one was able to make it in, no doubt there were others.
Cautiously, she reached for her gun and looked back. Through the darkness, she could see its silhouette walking aimlessly in the hallway underneath the stairs. Turning around, she kept a close eye on it as her other hand that has yet to be healed, she reached for the doorknob, opening it while making sure it didnât emit a sound.
There was a slight creak of the hinges, and she stopped for a split second as she saw the dead also stop before continuing its pointless actions. With the door halfway open, moonlight poured in and swiftly she moved outside. However, she wasnât given the chance to close the door as she threw the door back open in a harsh manner when a dead emerged from behind her, pushing against her as they both tumbled to the floor.
The action caught the attention of the other dead inside the home and she had to hurry if she wanted to get away alive, but it was hard as a rotter was on top of her back and the tumble caused her weapon to free itself from her palms.
With her left hand pushing the rotterâs head back, her sprained hand tried to push herself up but every chomping and every snarl that echoed in her ear frightened her. She even used her legs to kick the dead off of her, but she couldnât get a stable grip especially with her fingers digging through the corpse's head and clumps of blood on her face.
Eyebrows furrowing and teeth cleaning, allowing any whimpers to come from her, she grunted as she pushed herself with force, ignoring the pain that sent through her wrist. The slimy texture of blood and other bodily fluids forming around her fingertips had her wanting to gag and the smell that came from a rotting corpse helped further the process, though she had to maintain her composure as she could hear the other rotter coming.
Who knew a corpse would be so heavy as she could barely lift herself. She knew she needed both her hands, but she was afraid if she let go, a chomp on her neck would be the death of her.
Her hands quiver and her brows twitch at the thought, but she couldnât hesitate any longer lest she wished for death. So, with a deep breath and a harsh swallow, as speedily as she could she let her left hand back on the floor where her right hand was displayed and with force, she pushed herself up, the body on her back feeling immensely uncomfortable, but she channeled her thought to her gun that was mere inches away.
Reaching her hand out, she grabbed it, but at the same time her slow movements caused for the rotter behind her to grab onto her leg and as she stumbled, she continued to reach for her only source of comfortâignoring the gnarly wide mouth and a row of teeth showing.
A pained grunt was let out through her clench teeth as she kicked the dead away and grabbed her weapon. Her feet awkwardly tripped over herself and in the action of trying to catch herself, she stepped forward and ended up falling on a coffee table, jabbing her side. Both snarls of the dead could be heard, but she focused on the pain of her side, holding it and ignoring the wet stain of her clothing. She let herself fall off the small table and land on the floor as she hissed and a small whimper was let out.
âFuckâŠâ She whispered, blinking away as her vision was getting clouded. She could hear the dead heading for her as the battery candle showed her and she would have quickly gotten up if it werenât for the circumstance.
She didnât know how much longer it would take, but she knew she couldn't just be a rotterâs meal before she died. Keeping her hand on the side of her stomach, she held onto the sofa beside her, pushing herself up while hissing at her injury. With the dead right behind her, she moved towards the backdoor and when reaching it, she slammed the door closed without looking back though with her feet giving out from exhaustion, she stumbled down the porch, falling face first on the soft wet grass.
Groaning, she took in a couple breaths to push herself on her back and allowed herself to lay there to regain her energy. Wherever Katsuki was, she hoped he could find her before she decided to take a long rest right where she laid.
Though as if the heavens above heard her, quick and silent footsteps could be heard. She could also hear that familiar voice that softly called her name, âF/n?â
Groaning, she moved into a sitting position, but with her body hurting, it took a lot longer, âKatsuki?â
After hearing her voice that sounded strained, he was able to find her through the dark, only using the moonlight to allow him to approach her. Crouching below her, he helped in pulling her up. While doing so, his eyes scanned her body even while it was difficult to see if she held any injuries, âWere you looking for me?â
âYep.â She groaned when she stood to her height, her hand staying on his wrist as she felt a little woozy, but she chalked it up to her falling, âWhere have you been this entire time? I thought those guys got you before I c-couldâŠâ
âHey, you really donât sound okay.â If he had a flashlight heâd use it, âDonât tell me that fall was all it took for you to barely talk right let alone walk.â
Inspecting the area and after making sure there was no danger he pulled her hand towards him as he took them to a safer place, âI was outside when they stormed in.â
âWhy?â She asked through gritted teeth. She was feeling hotter than usual was which was strange considering it was very cold.
âIt looked like it was going to snow.â He answered, glancing down the streets where his eyes met the burning homes and the dead that walked among the streets, âI was able to warn some people. Yâknow, giving them a chance to run and I then found Mr. Chatora who took all of us to the church where the graveyard is.â
âW-whyâŠ?â He gave her a glance, âNezu has a plan.â
Making sure his hand was still on hers; he moved back behind the house and used its blockage in traveling to the graveyard, âNezu said that Gunhead and Tsuchikawa were out looking for other survivors and grabbing weapons considering that shithead left us with nothing. How the fuck are we supposed to keep ourselves protected with just running. Bullets fly faster than we could ever run.â
He was nervous. Who wouldnât be nervous and downright frightened at the sight, not knowing if today would be the last day he could ever see the sky. Not only were Tomuraâs people flooding in, but so were the dead. Having to manage the psychotic man as well as the dead was something he and Nezu werenât looking forward to. What did reassure him was the fact that F/n could manage all by herself and that was heartening, âKeep up.â
âIâm trying.â She panted out, but god was it so hot and she could feel beads of sweat dribble down her face, â...I thought it was supposed to be cold..?â
âIt is. Canât you hear my fucking teeth chatter.â Stopping at the edge of one house, he waited for a rotter to disappear, âYour adrenalines up the roof. Thatâs why youâre not cold.â
She hummed as he continued, trying her best to see through her hazy eyes, âWere you fighting something inside Shitty Hairs home?â
Continuing on his pace, he could see some of the intruders walking down the streets. One lagged behind, swaying his machete to the side and walking in a sluggish manner. Whether it was boredom or if he was high on something that wouldnât stop Katsuki from getting his gear. A sniper on one shoulder and an automatic rifle on the other.
Letting go of F/nâs hand, he used her gun that he had previously grabbed to take the male down. He left the girl behind the home, though she didn't notice as she was preoccupied in fanning herself. When reaching a bush that had grown near the sidewalk, he made it rattle, each leaf brushing against each other and leaving a wet stain on the tips of his fingers.
Just a second of the noise was enough for it to grab the attention of the male as he moved his head towards Katsukiâs direction. Thankfully, he didnât see the blonde as he stepped back into the darkness. With the rest of his group up ahead, Katsuki aimed his gun at the male. Keeping it steady, he made sure it was at least aimed at a clean headshot and while he knew the gunshot would alert those ahead, but with a rifle and a sniper as well as F/n by his side he knew he had the upper hand.
Holding his breath so as the fog would not reveal his presence, the second the man was five feet away, he pulled the trigger. As quickly as he could he grabbed the body before it could make impact and pulled it towards him where he grabbed both sets of weapons and returned back to F/n, unchecking if his group was now after him.
Clasping F/nâs hand, he pulled her along with him as they ran behind the homes. However, he noticed her speeding decreases and so when they were at a safe distance he paused so they could take a breath. Eyeing her slouched position, his ears picked up every inhale she took, and he cringed at how it sounded, âAre your airways blocked? What's wrong with you?â
Panting like it was her last breath, she shrugged, wiping her forehead, âItâsâŠreallyâŠhot.â
He was beginning to get concerned and he should be. Standing in front of her he reached to place the back of his hand on her forehead, ignoring her sweat, âYouâre burning up.â
She leaned into his touch as it was cooler, âIâm so tiredâŠI wannaâŠtake a napâŠâ
Raising a brow, he used his other hand to feel her cheek before moving it to her neck, âWhy are you burning..?â
He felt her shrug, but hearing commotion he once again pulled her towards him as they ran off. Heâd ask her questions when they reach safety though if the church was compromised, heâd have to think of another solution. His thoughts however were kept reassured as they reached the structure and seeing it hadn't been breached, he left F/n at the bottom of the stairs as he knocked on the door.
For a brief second, he heard the commotion inside silence until the doors were opened with Chatora gesturing for them to hurry inside. Looking back at F/n, Katsuki took a step down as she slowly moved up, taking her jacket off as the sweat was becoming unbearable. The action had given Chatora a glance at Nezu, though the smaller leader nodded as if to say, it was alright.
With the two entering, the doors were quickly closed behind. The older man had locked the doors before standing beside them, making sure to keep an ear out for any suspicious behaviors that were outside. He was still waiting for Gunhead to return as well as Tsuchikawa who went to look for more of Sorstonâs community. He was worried that most did not make it as not even half of the community inside the building.
With Chatora standing in the back, Katsuki and F/n moved to the front where Nezu was trying to comfort people who were weeping. However, F/n couldnât catch up to Katsukiâs pace as she clutched her side. So instead of trying to reach him, her left hand grasped onto the pew chairs as she carefully sat down, silently groaning to herself. Having her legs out in front of her, she let her head rest on the back of the chair and while it did feel uncomfortable, she didnât care as she was in pain.
Noticing her presence was gone, Katsuki turned back to her, but seeing her eyes closed, he figured heâd let her get some rest to calm her burning skin. Instead, he headed for Nezu, âWhatâs the plan?â
Reaching for a file lying neatly on the chair, Nezu picked it up and handed it to him, âYouâll be using this.â
With a puzzled look, he opened it up, "What is it?â
âAn evaluation plan. While we wait for the rest to arrive, me, you and Chatora are going to gather the oneâs here andâŠâ
Sleep was calling out to her, but she knew better to give in. She tried to open her eyes though they only made it halfway before closing back once more. Faintly could she hear Katsuki speaking with Nezu. She knew she should be paying better attention, but their voices were too loud for her head to handle. Only a few words she could grasp before it went out the other ear.
Honestly, she was kind of glad things were going this way. For once she could let her guard down and it felt so nice to not keep up walls be cautions of every little thing. Getting here was a haze and if it werenât for Katsukiâs muttering she would have thought she was alone, getting pulled by a ghost who beckoned her.
And deep in her mind, she could hear that tiny voice peeking out. Peace was calling out to her and she was ready to give in if it wasn't for Katsuki touching her shoulder, â-atâs wrong?â
Humming, she steadily opened her eyes and with those hooded eyes she gazed up at him, the moonlight hitting his face just right, â...Yeah?â
âWeâre leaving.â He said, but as he continued to eye her he wasnât sure if she even had the energy to move a muscle, âCan you stand?â
Nodding, she blinked as she stood, using the pew chairs to keep her steady. With a hoarse voice, she spoke, âIâm just thirsty.â
âYeah, Iâll get you water.â He said, moving to the side for her to exit and following everybody else who stood by the side door. Some of the people were still not here, but after talking to Nezu about a plan Gunhead and Tsuchikawa were already aware of it if they didnât come at a certain time. Nezu wasnât about to let himself as well as the rest of the community be sitting ducks.
With half the council being dead, the leader of Sorston as well as Chatora could feel the pressure building up their shoulders. But, they wouldnât let that stop them nor slow them down. They had come up with this plan for a while and now that Tomura was giving them an option to run, they were going to take that chance, though this time Nezu was making sure he wouldnât find them this time.
At the door, F/n glanced around. Most of the people had blankets on them and if they didnât they wore heavy coats. If this were a different situation, she would have received odd stares. She was, after all, wearing a black long sleeve, jacket long discarded.
Opening the door carefully, Chatora peeked his head out before letting the others follow behind, âKeep quiet and stay close.â
Some mothers held their children, placing their blankets on their kids' heads so if a rotter came by, the kids wouldnât scream and thus alert their position. They were scared, which was understandable as they could be seen at any moment. Not to mention, they were unaware of what the plan was. All they knew was to follow and to trust Nezu.
âWhere are we heading?â F/n said as they stood outside hiding behind the building. She leaned against it, watching Katsuki reach into his bag and pull out her jacket.
âThereâs a sewer by the farm.â He whispered, holding her jacket out for her, âPut it on. It's freezing and it might snow. If I find a blanket on the way Iâll give it to you.â
âNoâŠitâs too hot.â She shook her head, lifting the collar of her shirt around her neck to fan herself, âI just need some w-water.â
âIts fucking freezing. The hell do you mean it's hot?â It was beginning to get cornering. His skin was practically cold and the chilly air would have dried anything that was wet, but her skin was flushed and sweat was still collecting on her skin. She also appeared tired, like a corpse walking.
With every sluggish move she took, his eyes took it all, âHeyâŠwhat were you doing before I found you?â
Sniffling, she took a pause to remember while he grabbed wate from his bag. He opened it as she appeared she didnât have the strength to do it. Behind him he could hear the others moving, but he motioned for them to go along as he would be right behind. However, there was a nagging voice in his head as a sweat rolled off her jawline.
And that nagging traveled to his heart as she dropped the water, gritting her teeth in pain as she hunched over with her hand slowly reaching for her side where a gnarly wound was let out bleeding.
âNo.â What would sound like an affirmative tone to another's ear, it sounded hurt and breathless as he slapped her hand and lifted her shirt to where he could see the pulsing wound, â..No..â
A shaky breath was released from both and when he took a step back, eyeing her like his world just fell apart, tears glistening underneath the moonlight, F/n sniffled as she tried her best to stand straight. She swallowed her thick saliva, staring at the blonde she would always be fond of, âI-it was an accidentâŠâ
How couldnât he have known? The signs were all there. Hasnât he gone through this before? With Izuku, the boy he grew up with and loved like his brother, like his flesh and blood. But, was his mind just protecting him from what was really about to happen next? Is that why he didnât notice she was quite literally walking to deathâs door, waiting for the bite to completely take her?
â...PleaseâŠâ His shaky breath caused puffs of fog to be let out.
Her eyes flickered back to him and never did she feel so exposed as a sniffle came from him with a drop of tear rolling down his perfectly soft cheeks. But, his tone, which was filled with dread, had her wanting to run far away.
â..P-pleaseâŠdonât do this to me, F/nâŠâ
Hazy eyes caused by tears, a choked sob escaped her throat as she tried her best to smile, to reassure him that everything was going to be fine, â...I-Iâm so-sorry, Katsuki.â
Like an eternity, their pooled eyes stared at each other, knowing this would be the last they see each other. Hopelessly did F/n want to hug him, to just feel his touch for the last time because this really was the last time and she knew he wanted the same. She could see his hands shake and his lips twitch as he stared at her. Perhaps he was taking in every feature before she departed and who knew what his mind was racing going through. He just wanted more time with her, to let out whatever his heart wanted and if the possibility of what he longed for didnât happen, he was fine, because heâd cherished those memories.
And deep down, they knew their feelings would forever be locked, taking it to their graves.
So instead, she shoved her jacket in his chest, letting out a heavy breath. Through her palm, she could feel his heart rhythm and barely did her fingertip touch the strap of the rifle.
Biting her lips, she sniffled, staring at her hand, âI wonât go with you.â
He knew that. He knew that the others wouldnât take her in either and he wouldnât dare to beg Nezu to bring her, just until she passed in a bed where she deserved after suffering her entire lifetime. A bite wound, hiding it no less would get everyone to use you as an offering.
Even if it was just for awhile, he wanted to, âI can go..with y-â
âI donât want you.â She swallowed her bile. She didnât know how long it would take for her to turn, but she wasnât going to allow herself to become a mindless rotter, âIâŠwill b-be fine. Just tr-tr-trust me, okay?â
Taking a long breath, her hand that was still above his heart moved to the strap, âTake a long breath...and youâll be okay..â
Sniffling like a little kid, he hesitantly placed his hand above her and pulled her in a hug, ignoring her sweaty cheeks, â...When this is all over..Iâll come find you.â
It did suck. Here they were talking next to a graveyard where Izuku was buried and where Shotoâs and Hantaâs empty grave was dug. He didnât even know if he would find her body when this was all over. No amount of pleading would magically save her and if he was being honest, he was glad she wouldnât have to live in survivor mode. It was exhausting and having to live like that for her entire life, heâd understand if she felt relief.
Guess, this is the end. For them both. With feelings unsaid.
Taking a hold of the rifle, she let him go as she held it, using the last of her strength to get herself far from here.
Staring at his ruby eyes one last time, she smiled, placing her unhealed hand on his cheeks, wiping his tears away, âWeâll wait for you, Katsuki.â
Feeling him nod, she squinted as she painfully tore her eyes away from him with hand slowly falling as she took a step to the side, other steps soon following as she refused to look back and when she was distance away from him, she took off in a run, uncaring that it hurt to do so. Blood seeped from her wound with every move and the dead paid no mind to her, almost as if they already knew she was rotting from the inside.
She could see some people who did not belong to Sorston so she aimed her rifle and began firing as they fired back. Some bullets breezed by, some grazed her clothing and only one managed to hit her left lower abdomen. It felt like a pinch and since the bite was beginning to numb around her wound the bullet didnât phase her. Only a twitch of her lip.
Using the rotters that ignored her, she had them be her shield. With the dead having bullets in them and hearing the gunners reload their weapon, she moved to the side with her rifle and fired, making sure she was quick enough to hit each one if she wanted out the walls.
Due to her vision growing weaker and limbs feeling strained from the heavy machinery, she walked forward, no longer using the dead as her shield as she kept her eye on the last male who moved behind a rotter. His clothing was plastered in blood and no doubt he used rotters blood to hide him and blend him in. It would make sense as the dead had paid no mind to him.
Focusing, the second the man stepped aside she fired and she was lucky to not have missed as her rifle then clicked, meaning no bullets were left. Seeing the body fall, she strapped her weapon to her shoulder and sprinted off, almost slipping as the road was getticking covered in ice.
She made it to the front gate where the vehicles were posted and getting in a small car she searched the vehicle for a key and upon finding it on the dashboard she drove off, exiting the broken gates of Sorston. Where she thought sheâd die of old age with her close ones was now leaving her behind.
She didnât dare look back through the mirror and even if she did, sheâd see burning homes and dead entering, claiming it as their own. Who knew where the rest of the community were heading. She wanted to know, but she didnât want to stay. She couldn't bear to look at Katsukiâs face even if she wanted him to be there until she passed.
Her headlights had the dead around herâa hordeâ glowing and with the goomy sky that began to drop snowflakes, the scenery looked hauntingly beautiful. She should have been paying better attention, because she crashed into a group of rotters that hadnât been successful in moving out the way.
She pressed down harder on the gass, but to no avail. From the corners of her eyes, she spotted a gun lying on the floor and without haste she picked it up and removed herself from the vehicle. Catusiotyl, she waited for the dead to make a move, but they spared a glance at her before proceeding to the community. She maneuvered around them and with minutes passing by she could feel her legs beginning to give out.
With no flashlight, she headed into the forest where specks of snow slithered through the leaves that crashed into each other. The bottom of her jeans were growing wet as the grass had collected the melted snow. And when she took another step, she fell, rolling down a small hill where her back then made contact with a creek.
Goraning, she mustered the courage to move, but the sudden fall had taken every energy out of her. Knowing this was it, she layed in the water that soaked up her clothes and hair. The wound stung, but it was bearable.
The sound of trees swaying and their dull branches crashed into each other, mixing in with the water that splashed against her ears. It sounded peaceful. Though the only thing that was missing were the birds that chirped their morning glory. The wind howled and that was enough for her as she stared at the scenery above her; snowflakes that were different from one another. If anyone was crazy enough to be out at this time and stumbled upon her, they would think she was one of them; a rotter. A cruel, vicious, flesh eating monster who preyed on the living with only one goal in mind; to eat.
Growing weak, and bloodshot eyes threatening to close, her fingers twitched against the pistol. Any second she would turn and in those seconds, she raised her hand a few inches off the ground, making sure it would be a clean wound. This time, Izuku wouldnât be here to greet her, and they wouldnât find Katsuki and she wouldnât brawl with Shoto who she believed was still out there. All she could do was close her eyes and let out a disappointed sigh as a gunshot echoed through the creek.Â

âA warehouse?â Was the first thing Katsuki said as he removed himself from the car. He eyed the tall building. It looked like the previous warehouse they had been to where they found all those supplies, but instead of a parking lot being centered in the front, construction vehicles were scattered around the area. A few rotter's could be seen and thankfully, they stood still, âDoesnât look like there would be anything we need.â
They both crouched in front of the iron gates and behind it, they used a crawler crane as their blockage, ââCause what weâre here for isnât exactly what we need.â
He raised a brow at her, âSo, are you going to tell me what weâre here for?â
Seeing a line to where they can reach the warehouse side doors, she began to move, âIâll tell you inside.â
He huffed, rolling his eyes as he followed behind her. It was a bit tricky in climbing the gates since the mist had coated the metal in water and since they didnât have gloves, their hands would slip, but finally they were able to reach the other side, carefully jumping down and starting crouching. Seeing that the rotters paid no mind to them, they continued using the big vehicles to hide their bodies.
After using the steps to enter the door, F/n found it to be unlocked and quickly she slithered in with Katsuki closing the door behind them. It was deathly quiet and with a click of their flashlight, if a hode were to be inside, the storage racks that were everywhere would make it difficult for them to escape. Not to mention, the racks were filled with stacked up crates, making it impossible to even see what was on the other side.
From the outside, the warehouse already seemed pretty big and now having a view of the inside, it appeared like a maze. There was no doubt a rotter was crawling around, they just hoped they spotted it before it spotted them.
âThis is what we need.â She spoke quietly, handing the male the piece of paper that contained information of what Mei needed, âNot sure what it looks like, so just read the crates.â
Eyeing the list, he was left puzzled, âHow the fuck are we supposed to know what weâre looking for if we donât know what it is? Couldnât you have asked her to show you the item so we get the picture?â
She shrugged, mouth agape to respond back, but he had interrupted with his usual sharp tone and that glare he seemed fond of, âAnd werenât you in the engineering class? For someone who was supposedly the best at knowing their shit, you suck at this.â
With a quiet scoff and a disappointed look being thrown her way, he walked past her, taking the lead. She stayed behind him and while one would feel insulted for his choice of words, she let it go and instead only mumbled a word that did not from the heart, â..Rude.â
âCanât be rude when itâs the truth.â He replied, shining his light to the massive crates, âEven if what weâre looking for is here, weâre not risking our lives to get it if the crates are at the top of the racks. Got it?â
He heard her hum, but taking a pause on his steps, he turned towards her with a brow raised, waiting for a verbal answer and after getting the message, she raised her hands in a surrender motion. âGot it. No risks. Keep things PG-13.â
He let out a disgusted groan while turning back, âHave you been hanging around Dunceface? Hearing you make jokes still feels fucking weird.â
She let out a light chuckle, âYou donât like joking around?â
âNot when it comes from you.â He had gotten used to her brash nature, âStay away from Dunceface. Last thing this fucked up world needs is you becoming like him. Not that it would ever happen.â
As he mumbled, she let out another chuckle that reached his ears. However, a snarl reaching his ears interrupted her voice. Reaching the end of the aisle, they had to take a turn and just on the other side would be the rotter.
Carefully, he turned and with his light immediately flashing for the dead, he let his muscles relax at the sight of the dead, âTsk, dumb bastard.â
Steeping to the side, his light was lowered to the ground where the rotter had been unfortunately trapped as a crate that was bigger than the dead had flatted his lower body. It tried reaching for the blonde, but with having no energy from no food source, the rotter couldnât move an inch.
Katsuki moved his light around the dead, trying to figure out how it could have managed to get into this position, âLooks like he tried climbing up the racks and it wasnât stable enough.â
With the light beaming at the top of the rack, he could see a space where the wooden crate would be snuggly fit, âYup, dumb moron..â
As he inspected the scene and insulted the obvious dead bear on his foot, she eyed her surroundings. There was something off. She didnât like how the dead had died. If a crate was heavy enough to flatten his body, then where did the products that were stored inside have gone? Not to mention, it looked like the blood that was surely supposed to be dry and framed around the body had suddenly disappeared. Like itâs been cleaned up.
Taking a couple steps to her side, she was able to shine her light to where she could see what was behind the storage rack. There was an empty space to where she and him could reach, but she thought it would be best to maintain their distance as she felt her skin crawl with uneasiness.
Having her light hit every object, she kept her voice low, âIâm no expert, but for having something heavy fall and kill simone wouldnât there bââ
Moving his eyes to her frame, he raised a confused brow, âWhat did you say?â
âI found it!â She quietly exclaimed, using the narrow space to get to the other side as she had spotted a tiny wooden crate with a word spray painted of what she was looking for.
Seeing her leave in such a rush, he quickly followed, âCan you wait the fuck up!?â
He made sure not to bump into the other boxes as he was worried the rack would collapse from the lack of maintenance. It did also worry him about how careless she was acting at the moment. Having seen a dead, he would have thought she would be the first to kill it, but she completely ignored it.
While it was trapped and had little energy to move, it didnât make him feel better at such negligence. He didnât even think she saw him kill it.
Hearing a rather loud and starling slam, he flinched and eyed her as she set down a smaller crate on the floor before crouching down and dropping her light to her side. With her knife, she stabbed it into the middle and began motioning the blade to spade up and down, almost as if she was slicing the box open.
âYouâre being loud.â He said, keeping his light to her, but his eyes were looking around them, âWe're supposed to clear out the building before grabbing supplies. Did you forget?â
She didnât answer and it irked him when she placed two of her bare right fingers in a hole she had created, âHey, what did I say about taking risks? Youâre going to get fucking splinters if you keep doing that and your hands wrist isnât heaââ
âLook, just do what you do best and keep an eye out.â She grunted out, paying no kind to him as she could feel a few splinters digging into her skin, âGo look for the other stuff.â
âThe hellâs that supposed to mean?â He barked, his eyes glaring down at her, âDo what I do best? The fuck do you mean by that?â
She shook her head, â..No, nothing, just keep it down.â
âYouâre the one whoâs being loud.â His voice was laced with annoyance, but he continued to keep an eye out.
Hearing a snap and a little hiss coming from her, his eyes averted back to her. She waved her right hand, most likely damaging the healing process, âMove, Iâll do it.â
âI donât need you.â He was suddenly taken back by that. For a moment he took a pause. âI almost got it.â
Creating another snap, she placed her knife to her hip and with what looked like copper laying in packaging popcorn, she grinned. She used her left hand while also using her right hand to carry the box, âItâs not a lot, but Iâm sure Mei could work with this.â
She didnât expect him to know what he was looking at, did she? â..What?â
She looked..eerily excited and it didnât feel right to the blonde, âI know it just looks like junk to you, but after we find all the stuff and after Mei figures it out, weâll actuallybe able to create handmade bullets. Can you believe that?â
âWait, bullets?â He looked at her confusingly, âWho came up with that idea?â
âSupposedly Nezu.â She still had her grin as she rummaged through it. He wasnât sure if she could even feel the pain she was doing for using her right hand in such a harsh way.
âWhyâŠ?â He of course had to ask. Nezu never once brought up the idea to him and considering the many meetings he held for the community, bullets were never once mentioned.
She looked at him like he was dumb, âW-well, why else?â
âWhat the fuck do you mean?â He was confused, perplexed as to what she would be implying. He'd be lying if he didnât say she was freaking him out and standing in the dark in a large building didnât help one bit. He knew that this feeling was just him and she sometimes had her habits of shocking him, but in the moment he felt like he was kept in the dark, considering heâd thought theyâd grown closer over these few months.
âYou're not making any sense.â He lightly scoffed, examining her with careful eyes as if he was waiting for her to break down, âWell just get what we came here for and leave. We havenât even checked to see if anyone else is here and I'm not dying today for some damn bullets that you think you can make.â
âWait.â She moved to him, grabbing his arm to prevent him from walking any further. With the box cradle in her injured hand, she ignored the pain as she looked at the male, feeling disappointed, âYou donât believe me, do you?â
He scoffed, because he didnât know what to say. He wanted to believe it, but he didnât think he could. If he did yet there was no outcome, his hopes would be given up and he was just tired of feeling hopeless. Like his whole life would be just and endless circle of despair, âLookââ
âJust think about it.â She dropped her arm to hold the box, âWe can stop this whole shit!â
A brow of his raised, âThis ainât the time to be fucking around.â
âNo, I'm serious.â Seeing her pace in her feet and her voice getting higher, almost like she was excited had him a bit concern, âMeiâs a fucking a genius. You think if it werenât for her Nezu wouldnât have come up with a plan like this? You canât honestly think heâs not that stupid to just stand by and abide to whavere damn instructions people like Tomura or the dead give him. Heâll look weak and people are already giving him up, thatâs why some left, but have you ever thought what he was thinking while all of this went down? He would just let his people die and let them downââ
âYouâre not making any senââ Interrupting him, and ignoring his disbelieving look, she continued, âThis could be the end of Tomura and something new for us! We can live in peace! Just like how we always wanted to and now that Mei has given him a sigh, we have that power to do it!â
ââŠWhat the fuck..â Staring at her like she had just committed a crime, a nervous soft scoff left his lips, âHave you gone fucking insane..?â
âNoâThis is our sign, Katsuki!â She waved her right hand, pacing around, âIf Izuku knew about this then he probably kept it a secret, he hanged around Toshinori and Nezu. They were probably thinking of it and coming up with a plan, but with his Izuku is, he kept it a secret to protect us! Why? Who the fuck knows, but iâm sure itâs with good intentions. Just because he didnât make it so see the outcome, doesnât mean we canât. We can be that push that Nezu lost hope, though I hardly fixââ
âOh my god.â It felt like his head was gonna explode if she continued any more. With confused, but glaring eyes staring at her, his hands motioned to his head, âYouâre fucking insane!â
Offendly, she took a step back, âWhââ
âIf we pull this shit it could all backfire and weâll all be dead! Who the fuck even know what Nezuâs thinking, but if you think that Deku knew, itâs a load of bullshit! Heâd never keep shit like that away from me! From me off all fucking people!â He then pointed at her, âWith you itâs a different story! He would bet have told you shit, because you know nothing about him , but I was like his fucking brother!â
She scoffed, glaring at him, âThe hells wrong with you? Iâm trying to find a way out of this mess and youâre giving nothing. I know you had deeper connections to him, but you gotta face the facts. Him knowing about this is a possibility, just like I said! And I said probably, not that it was fucking true. Damn.â
âMore like thereâs something wrong with you.â With his stills narrowed at her, he walked towards her, âYouâre over here spouting shit that could get us all kill. This wholeâŠfucking apocalypse has seriously messed you up and when we come up with a plan, we think before we act on it and clearly you werenât doing none of thaââ
Like the sound of air rushing by your ear, a loud gunshot then followed.
With the sudden startle, the crate fell from her hand as they both dropped down. Katsuki had turned off his lights, but he knew that wouldnât keep them hidden as they had no idea they were being watched the moment they stepped foot inside. While the bullets continued, they were slow placed and they landed beside their bodies as if the shooter was purposely avoiding them.
With every move the two did to avoid being hit, the sudden gunshots came to an abrupt halt as they crouched near a rack, keeping their breaths steady so as to not alert the shooter. Since it was dark, F/n had moved her left hand around to feel if Katsuki was near her and at the sudden content of brushing against his fingers, she kept her hand above his while listening intently for any sounds.
âMy knife fell.â Whispering, she let out quiet breaths, âMy knife fell.âDo you still have your flashlight?â
âDo you want them to know where we are?â He sarcastically whispered as he used his free hand to feel for his knife and thankfully he still had his, âI donât know how you drop your only source of protection, but donât even think about losing mine.â
Pulling his hand away from herâwhich caused her uneasiness as she felt safe to know he was beside her, he grabbed his weapons and tried to pass it to her only for a loud bang like the sound of doors slamming close startled them both.
Taking in a breath, the blonde positioned himself into a running stance, âGet ready to rââ
Like popcorn in a microwave, a gunshot rippled through the air and this time, the bullets werenât purposely avoiding them. One would have almost gotten rid of the blonde if he hadn't moved in time and thankfully with a graze on his left ear, he was able to distance himself. From the corners of his eyes as he tried to escape without severe harm, he could see flashes of light near him.
Quickly he looked around only to see three more muzzle flashes though those were distant away. The one closer was pointed at him so with his quick thinking he increased his space, using his arms to feel around him so he didnât bump into anything and when the flashes stopped, he continued, decreasing his pace while he made his way to the light.
His hand right was straightened out to his side, his fingertips touching any crate so he wouldnât get lost as he made his way. Then, when he heard a shuffle he stopped and listened closely. He couldnât hear a voice and it was quiet for a moment until a scream erupted and away from him he could see shots being fired. His eyes however, then snapped in front of him when he heard a scoff and as a light was turned on, he took the moment.
Huffing, F/n leaned against a wall as she wiped her sweat. She was hunched forward, barely making it alive after she threw a rotter towards one of the shooters. Her hands were drenched in blood and other bodily fluids that the dead produce and it stunk to the point she had to cover her mouth with her shirt as she gagged. No doubt they would be able to track her with just the smell, but despite that, she was was able to grab one of their weapons along with a light.
Her wrist hurt as she bumped into several racks and she tripped occasionally as she tried distancing herself. She even ran into a door and while she kept in her groan at the pain, entered what she hoped was the exit only for her to be in another section of the warehouse. She didn't know where Katsuki was or whether he was even still alive as she had lost him and in no way was she going to leave without getting confirmation. She wasn't going to let what happened to Shoto happen to him so instead of saving herself, she felt the walls until she came to a corner and kept low.
Waiting for him, she was worried that someone had a pair of night goggles considering someone was shooting at them in the dark with clear aim. No matter what, if it took days, she was going to wait for the blonde. She didn't have anything to lose.
What felt like eternity a light by the door she had entered from was seen. She could hear rushing footsteps and the light swayed with every step. Straightening herself, she steadied her breath and lifted the gun at a height that she hoped would be an instant kill. It pointed towards the door, her finger on the trigger ready to fire if it wasn't Katsuki and before her nerves could get the upper hand a flash of blonde was seen before a light was shined at her, causing her to jolt and block the blaring light out of her eyes.
Feeling an immense wave of relief hit his chest, Katsuki huffed out a breath as he whispered, âThe hell are you doing standing in the corner like some creep!?â
Letting her hand down, she sighed out, feeling her vernes calm down, âI was waiting for you.â
He approached her with eyes scanning her frame for any open wounds, but instead his nose was hit with a foul stench, âWhy do you smell like..a rotting corpse?â
âA rotter saved my ass.â She nervously chuckled as she eyed her bloody hand, âIt came out of nowhere.â
âThat scream was you?â He looked at her hand before looking back at her, âThat was a fucked up death.â
âYeah, well, if it wasnât him it was going to be me.â She replied as she tried to wipe her hands on her clothes. Her eyes locked onto him and before she could utter a word, she catched a silhouette moving behind and quickly, she aimed her gun by his ear and fired, causing the male to flinch.
He dropped his light as his hand covered his ear that vibrated, â..What the fuckâŠâ
â..OhâŠâ He could hear her muffle voice as he waited for the ringing to disappear. He felt her hand on his shoulder before it disappeared and when his ear came to its senses, he heard her. â..Fuck..â
Turning around to where she stood, his eyes widened as he stared down below his feet. Coursing through his veins, he could feel the terror of what would happen to him and the community float, âIsnât that one of Tomuraâs men..?â
Wiping her sweat with her shaky arm, she swallowed her saliva of fear as she stared at the body of one of Tomuraâs main men, â...Compress, was itâŠ?âÂ

After waking up, she headed for the showers. Since her wrist kept her from any hard work, she had to resort to easier tasks which she did not like. There wasnât anything easy that interested her after Katsuki named a few. She didnât like gardening, she didnât like stocking, she didnât like greeting people, she didnât like assisting her seniors, she didnât like doing anything that kept her inside. She wanted to be outside with the dead and she didnât care about being cold.
While her assigned hunterâTamakiâwas allowed to score their next big meal, they had assigned him a different protector. She didnât find out until Katsuki had mentioned it, since he too was going out to hunt for any wild animals that were still alive. She is, dare to say, jealous of the blonde for not having a broken wrist. If only he was in the same situation she was, only then would she feel happier.
With her shower done, she struggled in putting her clothes on. A groan of pain would be released before she successfully had placed her clothes on. For today, instead of doing those boring options that Katsuki had gone over, she decided to head over to Meiâs and see what creation she was making. She hasnât gone over to her in a while, which did make F/n feel bad as they were close in high school.
They werenât friends as that role belonged to only Hitoshi. However, as a sigh filled with sadness escaped her lips, she knew she needed to make some friends if she wanted to be happy. She didnât want to befriend Katsukiâs friend. She wanted to make her own and perhaps the pink-haired girl would be happy to see her and allow F/n to help her out. They were in the same class and if it werenât for the apocalypse, they both wouldâve got a certificate for best engineering.
Since Katsukiâs job was early in the morning, best known for wild animals to appear, he wasnât home and thus left F/n alone. Once her shoes were on, she grabbed a heavier coat and ventured towards the front gates where Mei would be. With the cold air hitting her face, she pulled the hood up and carefully placed her injured hand in her pockets to keep warm. She knew what the consequences would be if Katsuki found out she got sick, so hopefully she wouldnât.
Walking to the shop, her e/c eyes glanced over to some grass. While there was some concern in her gut, she found a thin coat of ice covering the top parts of grass beautiful as the sun that tried to shine down on them would twinkle. It radiated a soft glow of yellow and gold, though if you were to look closely, you would see bits of pinks and blues, almost like a rainbow. Her attention was then diverted at the sound of a radio playing and echoing in the silent air.
Turning the corner, she saw Meiâs shop was open and inside was the girl with her big coat that drowned her. The tip of her nose as well as her cheeks were a light shade of pink and as always, she had her goggles, âDonât tell me those are the same goggles from class. I didn't think you would pack that up.â
Looking up, Meiâs lips formed into a grin, âF/n! Finally, youâve decided to come and visit me.â
âIt was a long wait.â She entered the garage, removing her hood as she eyed the table where Mei was working, âBut I still canât believe youâre still doing this.â
âWell, if not me then who?â She smiled, removing her goggles to rest on her head, âYou know I had told Mr. Nezu to have you here with me when I heard you came, but you decided to go for something else. Total bummer, yâknow.â
âYeah.â She pursed her lips, âIâŠguess this whole thing started to bore me out.â
âWhy?â Her smile disappeared, âYou were really good at this kind of stuff. You werenât anywhere near close as I was, but you had the motivation to be close to me. You created some good stuff at the entrance exam and if it werenât for Mr. Higari noticing, you wouldnât have been chosen for his class. You know that, right?â
âYeah.â A sigh came from her nose, âBet if he was here, heâd be disappointed.â
âOh, he totally would.â She sadly smiled, âI guess that's why Iâm still here. Creating babies to honor his wish for me to become pro in the engineering industry. Since he didnât get to see that, the least I can do is honor his wish.â
âI think thatâs a nice memory.â Her eyes couldnât leave Meiâs smile and F/n was glad she was looking down at her project. Shrugging with the weird feeling, she spoke, âSo, I was wondering and since you create a whole bunch of random stuff, maybe you got something to help my wrist.â
Showing the girl the wrapped hand, Mei hummed as she moved behind her where a crate of metal was placed, âMaybe, but you do realize a hand is going to have to heal on its own, right? I canât magically create stuff that can be fixed quickly.â
âIâm good with just a weapon.â F/n said as she glanced around the dirty and cluttered room. Then her eyes landed on the table in front of her, noticing a bullet, âWhat are you making this time?â
The girl lets out a sigh as she returns with a knife, âMr. Nezu tasked me with making bullets.â
âBullets...?â Eyes going wide, F/n looked over to the girl to see if she was joking, âYou can make bullets?â
Placing her gloved hand on the nape of her neck, another tired sigh escapes her lips, âThatâs what Mr. Nezu is hoping for. I just started, so thereâs a long way to go before I can successfully create one. The only thing I know are the basics like what stuff I need, but itâs not an easy process, it's going to be impossible and could probably take years. Some of the stuff is tricky to get. It's just like food, water, and guns.â
Letting out a frustrated sigh, Mei sat on her chair, âGosh, Mr. Nezu is going to be so disappointed!â
She stopped listening to her. If Mei could create bullets, their ammo would be stocked for lifeâor for however long sheâs alive. There wouldnât be a problem in looking for a tiny metal, they would only need to search for guns and considering they have a few left they could use those to finally get rid of Tomura and his lackeys. Sure, it's wishful thinking and sure, maybe it could backfire by a bunch of people dying, but what's a couple sacrifices for a better future? Not to mention, heâs already sacrificed a couple of his council. Though she doubted Nezu would comply. That skillful little leader has a bunch of tricks up his sleeves.
With her great shot and Katsukiâs great sense of tracking, they could take down the entire of Tomuraâs team and she was already itching to get rid of that sinister blonde that wants to take a trip with her. F/n knew she was getting way ahead of herself, but Katsuki of all people would take her words into consideration.
Mr. Nezu wants her to be people's future? Well, heâll just have to listen to her and agree. The only problem would be her arm that she glared at.
âAre you listening to me?â Mei waved her hand in front of F/nâs face, and she placed it down when she got her attention, âThe best I could do about that hand was a knife and unless you got your arm cut off, I could maybe make you a robotic arm.â
She was joking, but the look on F/nâs face had the pink-haired worry, âYou know Iâm joking, rigââ
âWhat type of stuff do you need?â F/n asked, placing the knife in the pockets of her jeans.
âHuh?â Mei puzzlingly looked at her, âStuââ
âTo make the bullets.â F/n nudged her head to it, âYou said youâd run out, so what kind of stuff do you need? Iâll get it for you.â
Mei didnât know just how crucial she was to her now, âNo way, youâre crazy if you think Iâll telââ
âCome on, Mei.â She moved closer to the girl, surprising Mei at the sudden interaction since F/n always liked her personal space, but what concerned her was that smile on F/nâs lips, âYou canât just bring up something like this and expect me to ignore it. I know, you know that Mr. Nezu has something planned if he asked you if you could make bullets and donât you think youâd be giving up easily just because you donât have the supplies? Here I am willing to lay down my life to make that dream come true, so work with me here.
âWhen Katsuki comes back from whatever heâs doing, me and him will go look and all you have to do is cover out backs incase Mr. Nezu asks for us. I donât know whether he asked for you to keep it a secret, so I'll leave that to you. You just became the most important thing to me by bringing this up.â F/n placed her injured hand over her heart, âI never realized just how important you could be until now.â
Well, Nezu never did say to keep it a secret, but she knew better than to utter a peep to those who threatened the community. Besides, Nezu had to trust her for such a task and letting out information onto F/n who knew a couple things, it wasnât like she would need help eventually. So, with a smile, Mei moved to a table behind her where she picked up her clipboard and a pencil, âI trust you, so Iâll let you help me and you know, Iâm glad youâre doing better F/n. Everyone heals at their own pace.â
â...YeahâŠâ F/nâs smile faltered, â..Everyone has to move onâŠeventually.â
Tearing the edge of the paper where it held a list of items, Mei handed it to her, âItâs not something to risk your life for. The second you feel youâre in danger, pull back. Nobody wants to see another member die.â
Taking it between her fingers, F/n nodded at her before leaving, âIâll make sure to come back with all of it.â
After grabbing her bag that had a bottle of water and her pain meds, she sat on the trunk of a car near the front gates since that's where all vehicles were stored. While it was cold, she wanted to leave immediately and so she decided to wait for Katsuki. It wasn't long until the gates were open, and she saw him, âGot a new mission for us.â
âWhat now?â He grumbled as she gave him the piece of paper Mei had given her, âWhat the hell am I looking at.â
Hearing keys jingle, he looked at her with a questionable glare. âIâll tell you on the way there, alright?â
While following behind her, he scoffed, âI still have other shit to do!â
âDrop it.â She shrugged, entering the vehicle she sat on. Closing the door, she gave him a sly smile that he didnât like as it always led to trouble, âYouâre going to like this.â
With the engine roaring, he immediately got in the passenger seat, throwing his bag to the backseat, âAnytime somebody says something like that, someone always ends up dying. I sure as hell hope you donât plan on killing both of us.â
âGuess it just depends on how good you are.â She shrugged again, backing the car up to exit the community, âItâs probably going to take a while, so I hope you brought enough water.â
Wiping his eyes that threatened to close, he mumbled, âYou going to tell me where weâre going or am I going to have to guess?â
âSure.â She smiled at him, âWe can play a guessing game if you want. Loser gets to do whatever the winner wants.â
âWhat's with that smile?â With his glare, he eyed her, âYou get hit on the head or something?â
âCanât somebody smile just because they want to?â She asked to which he crossed his arms and sat back in his seat, his eyes looking head at the scenery. âNot if that someone is you. Seeing you smileâŠlooks weird.â
Subtly, she looked at him, âI want to see you smile.â
âAs if.â Seeing a rotter on the side of the road, his eyes followed it, âYou gotta earn it.â
At that she chuckled and used her left hand to ruffle his hair, âIâll get you to smile one of these days, Katsuki.â
Ignoring the beat of his heart, he glared at her as he grabbed her wrist, âKeep your hands on the wheel, you maniac!âÂ

With the weekend arriving, Shota stood in the kitchen making pancakes. Since Eri, the morning person she was, she chose breakfast for the day and as good hearted she was, she added fruit salad as well with juice since her older siblings liked it. While she sat on her chair doing her homework Shota grabbed a packet of blueberry, blackberry, honeydew and melon before placing it on the counter between the stove and sink. Surprisingly enough, his kids liked to eat healthy and due to some of their backgrounds of eating junk, he's proud to say they've come a long way.
"What is four plus thirteen?" Eri asked, the pencil in her hand wavering around the sheet of paper.
"Seventeen." The father replied, the knife slicing down the melon, "Make sure to show your work."
"Do I do a tally?" She proceeded to write the answer on the line, "My teacher said we can draw that or circles, but there's no room for that many circles and I have seen other girls doing that and I don't want to be the only one who doesn't draw circles."
"Don't worry about what other people think." He reached to the cupboard above him and pulled out a clear glass bowl. He placed the chopped up fruits in the bowl before proceeding to place the rest back in the fridge, "If the circles don't fit do the tally chart or draw small dots."
"Circles are overrated anyways, just like those girls." She said, her pencil scraping against the paper as she drew a tally chart.
He turned to face her with his brow raised, "Who told you that?"
"Katsuki." She smiled, leaning over the table as she sniffled, meaning a cold was in due, "I don't know that means, but he told me to say that if they try talking to me."
"Wow." He blinked, a bit surprised to hear the blonde's choice of advice, "I don't know why I'm even surprise."
Hearing a door open down the hallway, Shota placed the bowl of fruit on the table, "Whichever one of you is up, breakfast is ready."
Emerging from the dark hallway, Izuku yawned, "Did the heater turn off last night? It got cold and I think I'm going to get sick."
"I have medicine in my room, but only if you are sick, not just a stuffy nose. For the heater I'll have someone come by and check it." Shota turned the stove off as he grabbed the plate of pancakes and proceeded to leave it next to the fruit salad, "Are the rest awake?"
"I think only Kacchan." A shiver crawled through his body as he sat on his chair. He moved the fruit salad to see Eri doing her homework, "Are you leaving again? Because if you are, can you leave me in charge? Whenever you leave Kacchan and F/n in charge, they do the opposite of what you want them to do and that's probably why we're getting so many complaints."
"I'm leaving all of you in charge." Lastly, he grabbed cups, "And the only reason why we're getting complaints is because the neighbors are noisy. They can't mind their business for a minute."
"Because losers need to center their life around someone cool." Both their heads turned towards Eri's direction, who had a smile as she continued to work.
"Sounds like something Kacchan would say..." He nervously smiled as he looked at Shota.
"Go wake the others." Shota replied.
At the table and in their designated sleep, Shota had begun to get ready for his school meeting. He had his professional clothes on to be taken seriouslyâwhich was just a suit. His briefcase littered with unorganized paper sat on the biggest couch as he stood in front of the mirror beside the front door, "When you're finished please clean up. I'm not sure if the meeting will take long, so I left money on my bed for takeout."
"Is it a parent conference?" Hitoshi asked as he munched on some honeydew, "Aren't we supposed to come?"
"A parent conference is meant for parents, hence the name." Shota grumbled as he had trouble doing his tie.
"Dumbass." F/n and Katsuki snickered at the glaring male.
"Remember to do your chores and if anybody knocksâ" They all finished his sentence. "Don't open the door."
"It's not like anybody would even willingly come here." Izuku mumbled, lifting his fork to eye the egg before eating it.
"What if we want to go to the store?" Shoto asked, turning to look back at his father, "What if we run out of food?"
"Which is why he's leaving money, dumbass." Katsuki rolled his eyes.
"Okay, well, what if I don't want pizza." Shoto huffed out.
"We're not getting soba, Shoto." F/n placed the rest of their pancakes in their mouth, "We always get that and you know Eri and me can't finish it so you always end up finishing ours."
"Eri and I!" Katsuki glared at F/n, "Are you stupid or something!?"
"Okay, grammar police." F/n stood up, heading to the sink to wash their plate.
Jumping from her seat, Eri followed after F/n so the older sibling could wash her plate, "I'm fine with giving Shoto my soba, but you have to buy me something first."
Shoto nodded at her request, "Eri's fine with it. Soba it is."
"No!" The other's replied.
Shaking his head, Shota grabbed his briefcase and headed for the front door. After placing his shoes, he opened the door and looked at them before leaving, "You guys choose what you eat, I'll be back."
Once the door shut, they began to clean and after a while of Katsuki's consistent yelling about some places being dirty the morning had turned into evening and Shota had still yet not returned. Because they had an unfinished breakfast they ate the rest and the money had yet to be touched, so to pass by the time the six siblings had rested in the living room watching TV of their favorite cartoon.
Suddenly, the sound of a phone ringing in F/n's bedroom caught their attention. Rising from the couch and shoving Hitoshi's feet off their lap, they headed for their shared room to retrieve their phone. With the device in their hand, they returned to the living room, "Denki needs a ride to the grocery store. You guys want to come?"
"His parents are still out of town?" Izuku concerningly asked. It was the norm, but sometimes his parents tend to leave Denki alone more than the average two weeks.
"Doubt he'll ever see them again." Hitoshi said as he grabbed the remote to switch the channel as a commercial about pans and pots played, "How much you want to bet they have a different family."
"C'mon man, don't be rude." F/n placed their phone in their pocket.
Glancing at the clock that hung behind the computer, Katsuki groaned at the time, "Nah, someone has to stay here and take care of this twerp."
His toes pointed over to Eri who sat in her bean bag with a coloring book on her lap. Her crayons laid next to her feet as well as a juice box, "I can take care of myself. I'm six."
Hitoshi sarcastically laughed, "Yeah. Right. Remember when we said that and we turned the tub green."
"That was F/n." Shoto stood up, "I'll go since I have to buy Eri that thing she asked me for."
Putting their shoes on, F/n glanced over to Izuku, "You coming?"
"No, because unlike some people I'm not trying to get in trouble." The freckle male moved over to the smaller couch where Shoto once laid.
"Suit yourself."
About thirty minutes later, they arrived at the local grocery store. Accompanying F/n, Shoto, and Denki was Kyoka. They would have brought Tenya as he mostly paid for Denki's groceries, but due to the circumstances of the relationship, they agreed not to invite the male. He was busy either way as today he had tutoring for something F/n never bothered to remember. Something about keeping the family business going and passing it down to their children. F/n didn't know what the hell he was talking about.
"What else is on the grocery list?" Kyoka asked as she placed a tomato bag in the cart. Like the kind-hearted friend she wasâand the subtle crush towards Denkiâshe offered to buy half of his groceries thanks to the gig's she's been offered.
Reading off the list, Shoto scratched his brow, "Well, we have noodles, frozen mixed vegetables, pie, candy, soda, crackers, juice, peanut butter and jelâhalf of this list is just junk food."
"I feel bad for him." She glanced over the list, "He told me his parents haven't called or messaged him."
"The best we could do is be there for him and thankfully F/n is taking care of that." Shoto rolled the cart as they entered the meat section, "Also, I signed us all for Momo's study club."
"What?" The girl chuckled, her brows raised at him, "You're kidding? You know F/n won't step foot in there."
"Who cares." He shrugged, "Besides, after they know Tenya's in there, they'll have to go and I didn't just sign me and my siblings, I signed you guys as well."
"Wow." She clicked her tongue, "You trying to impress her? I didn't know you even liked Momo or even knew her."
"She's a friend." Shoto disregarded her silly question as he didn't see Momo more as a friend, "She's been wanting to start a club since last year, but couldn't since she didn't have enough members so I figured I'd indulge her. Besides, half of the group needs her tutoring."
"Well, you're not wrong there." Kyoka said as she grabbed a plastic bag to palace the meat in.
In the chip aisle, Denki hummed as he glanced at two different bags, "Which one mixes better with lemon and cucumber? Potato chips or spicy chips."
"I say spicy." F/n turned around where the cookie section was placed and grabbed one, "You're parents called?"
"Nah." He chose the spicy chips and used his left hand to hold it, "They're on a cruise ship for like a couple months I think. I saw them post a picture on skinbook."
Subtly, F/n rolled their eyes. While they never met his parents, the smell of narcissism and abandonment rolled off from them. It always amazed them how Denki could smile and joke like his homelife wasn't a complete mess, "You want to come over?"
"Can't. I," He smoothed his hair, the bag of chips getting in the way as he bit his lips, "got a date tonight."
Laughing, they headed back to the other two, "Which dumbass did you pull?"
"Some girl in Mei's class." Denki grinned, handing the chips to F/n so he could fish out his phone and show them a picture, "She wants to go bowling which I think is a boring date, but lady's choice."
"You're going bowling with a broken arm?" F/n shook their head, "Why not just take her to a movie?"
"She said that's boring." Denki then sighed, "If it doesn't work out I'll come over, plus, your dads having an online meeting with my folks so I'll let you know how that goes."
After purchasing the items and placing them in the van, F/n dropped Kyoka and Denki off before heading home. Grocery took a while since there was a Karen complaining about coupons not being expired, but the expiration date said otherwise. However, as they arrived home, they noticed the sun had gone down, "You don't think dad's home, right?"
"If he is, I'll tell him you made me come with you." Shoto shrugged as he reached behind to grab his drink, "It's not like it's a lie. You did want me to come."
"Yeah, but I didn't have a gun to your head." F/n murmured, "Anyways, what's with the tub of licorice?"
"Eri asked for it." Taking a sip, he paced the can in the cup holder as his phone vibrated, "We're getting soba, by the way."
"No we fucking aren't!" With the light turning red, F/n stopped, "It's always fucking soba, Shoto. Give your lame ass tastebuds something else to obsess with."
He shrugged as he grabbed his drink, "Anyways, I signed us up for Momo's studying club."
"Who the hell is Momo?" With the light turning green, F/n stepped on the pedal harshly, making the soda drip all over the heterochromia's chin, "Serves you right for putting me in a stupid ass club."
"First, screw you. Second, screw you." He used his sleeves to clean the mess, "And third, I did you a favor."
Turning to the street of their home, F/n rolled their eyes, "What favor could you possibly do?"
"Getting you close to Tenya." From the corners of his eyes, he watched them sneer, "You don't have to get back together, just make up and move on."
"Since when do you give advice?" A scoff exited their lips, "And I have moved on."
"Good." Shoto noticed Shota's car in the driveway, "Then you two can be friends and we can all go to that rave that Mirio's hosting next weekend and by the way, you're taking blame for not following dads rules."
Irritable, F/n scratched their hair as they pulled in. Entering the home, F/n swallowed a big gulp of saliva as they closed the door and removed their shoes. Upon entering, Shota's eyes landed on them before returning back to the paperwork in front of him, "It's late."
Moving their eyes towards their father, he was sitting on the desk where the computer was placed, busying himself with paperwork, "You're not mad?"
"If I was mad I wouldn't be sitting, now would I?" His hair had been pulled in a bun and thankfully he didn't seem mad, "I get that Denki needs help, but you have to call first to let me know where you're heading before taking off."
"Right, yeah, I got it." They glanced around the room noticing none of their siblings were around, "Where did everyone go?"
"In Hitoshi's room." Hearing his phone chime, Shota stood up and headed towards the front door, "I had a meeting with Denki's parents and heard they won't be home for a while, so Denki is staying over."
"What!?" A smile was placed on their lips, "Really!?"
"Yes, but this doesn't mean you can go and create a ruckus like you both always tend to do." He opened the door to where Hizashi's car was seen in the driveway and shortly after Denki got off with his school bag and a small luggage of clothes. He waved at his friend who gave the tired male a thumbs up before driving off, "Thanks, Hizashi."
"Yo, this is going to be so much fun!" Denki grinned as he removed his shoes and got ready to go to F/n's room to drop his stuff.
"Remember." Before they left, Shota pointed at them both, "Don't do anything that gets us another complaint."
"You got it, boss!" The two teens said before running off.
"Guess who's here!" F/n said, sitting on Hitoshi's bed, "And didn't get yelled at."
Denki placed his bags on the desk and then sat next to F/n and Hitoshi, the siblings bouncing as he practically jumped on it, "You guys wanna stay up? I brought a scary movie and snacks."
Katsuki who sat on the desk chair rummaged through his friend's snacks, "Seriously? Licorice? And you brought a shitty ass movie. Probably has two ratings."
"How long this time?" Shoto asked his friend, sitting next to Izuku who had a small blush on his face as he texted.
"Until My folks come back?" Denki scratched his head thinking, "I think two or three weeks."
Izuku finally got off his phone, "Last time you stayed for a couple months, remember?"
"Yeah, but that was when I was eleven." Denki shrugged, "I was a kid."
Hitoshi placed his legs on F/n, "You might as well move in. You're here everyday."
"Oh, that would be so fun!" F/n said, gripping Hitoshi's toes as he flinched in pain and removed them from their lap, "We could stay up all night and do dumb shit, like that one time we poured cold water when Katsuki was showering."
"I'm still not over that." The blonde glared at them, "I almost fell."
"You screamed like a girl." Shoto said and received a candy thrown at him.
"Or that one time he fell off the trampoline and broke his arm." Hitoshi grinned at the memory, "He thought he could impress that new girl that moved in next door."
Denki laughed at Katsuki, "I remember that! He tried to play it off like it didn't happen."
"She never hung out with us again." Izuku let out a sigh, "A shame, I really liked her."
"Because he's weird." Shoto again was met with candy thrown at him.
Katsuki glared at all of them, "Quit picking on me! And she didn't think I was weird, you guys weirded her out with your stupid questions."
"Yet, she ended up liking Denki." Izuku pointed out, "She never left your side. Even when you went to the bathroom."
Denki flipped his hair with a sly smile, "I guess, I just got that charm in me."
Hitoshi rolled his eyes, "Yeah, right. She's probably into stupidity."
"No way, she liked Shoto too." F/n said, "I still have that polaroid of her trying to kiss you."
Shoto's face flushed in embarrassment, "Why do you still have it? Throw it away."
F/n grinned, ignoring him as they all ran to their room where the picture was stuffed into the closet, "You guys wanna see it?"
"Throw it away, F/n!" Shoto jumped as his fingered graced the photo.
"Nuh-uh!" F/n laughed as they stretched their arm out, waving the photo for all to see.
"I forgot she had braces." Izuku said as he squinted to look at her face.
"Denki! Denki!" F/n looked at him as he was behind the others, "You better catch, bitch!"
The male waved his arm as he tried to get the flowing photo, "I got it! I got it!"
"No you don't!" Shoto slammed into him, both falling onto the soft floor.
"Grab him!" Hitoshi quickly aimed at Shoto's leg, the rest soon followed except for Izuku as he got a message from Ochaco.
The door then swung open, hitting Katsuki on the head as he clutched his hair. Shota gave them all a look, "Dinners ready."
"Last one there sleeps next to F/n!" They all ran out, shoving Izuku behind. The freckled male glared at them, "Dammit!"

Hearing a tear, Yawara placed the compression bandage down on a bedside table before tucking the end of the bandage to secure it, âMake sure you move your fingers and shoulders so they donât get stiff. Also, no pressure! Otherwise, healing is going to take longer or it wonât heal properlyâor might ever will. Not to mention, we would only be wasting supplies.â
Finally he placed a clip for extra security. When he pulled away to place the supplies away, F/n held her right hand in the air, examining the wrapped wrist, âAnd how long would it take for me to take this off.â
âSix or eight weeks.â The older male closed a cabinet, before moving to a different section of the cabinet.
She hummed. After setting her hand down to her lap, she glanced around the small medical room and noticed the tons of books on one counter and a few posters that you would see in a doctor's office, âWhat did you do in the past?â
After placing a box of gloves on the light blue counter, he moved to the next cabinet over, âI was a doctor.â
âYou liked that?â She asked, as her mom would always come home exhausted.
âI did.â He nodded with a smile, âNothing feels better than seeing the relief of peoples faces after finding out the good news.â
âWhich was?â If she was going to spend eight weeks here with him, she might as well get to know him.
âKnowing they were going to live to see another day.â He paused for a brief moment, reminiscing about those times where his patients sat in his office, weeping about the terrible news, only for their weeps to turn into cries of happiness.
âGuess that is good news.â She unsurely scratched her head with her left fingers.
Finding a bottle of pain relievers he handed them to her who shook the bottle lightly. A few pills rattled, âThis will be your friend from now on. I know it's not much, but only take it when needed.â
âAnd when is that?â She asked, opening it to reveal four helpless pills.
âWhen you're in pain.â He responded, leaning on the counter with his arms crossed. There was a quick look of concern, âIf itâs still hurting extremely by the time itâs supposed to heal, youâll need surgery before it becomes deformed and due to almost the entire population being a walking corpseâŠIâm afraid your luck will run out rather soon.â
âWhat can I say?â She shrugged, placing the pills in the pockets of her jacket. Holding in a careless face as she pushed herself off the medical table, âCorpses are at the top of the hierarchy and weâre at the top of their food chain. I guess in a wayâŠweâre still on top.â
âThis is no way of joking around, F/n.â For such a youngster, she held a heavy burden, âYou know the council, they think you're our shot of making it out of this.â
That caused her eyes to move towards him. âOf course itâs not just you. There are others, but Mr. Nezu believes youâre special.â
âThat makes no sense.â She softly scoffed, âWhat did I do for him toâŠbelieve in something stupid like that? Iâm just aâŠIâm just a girl with a tragic backstory.â
âEveryone has a tragic bacââ She interrupted him, her tone in disbelief, âExactly! So why single me out?â
There was a low sigh released from him. He wouldnât tell her the exact details of what Nezu said during their meeting. It wasnât that she didnât deserve to know, it was more to spare what her mentality was already suffering. The entire councilâeven those buriedâknew what life she had to endure to become who she is now, âItâs not just solely you.â
He turned to his feet, eyeing the window behind her where he could see Ryuko coming in, âTalk to Nezu. Iâm sure heâll enlighten you.â
â...So you say with a smile.â She muttered, approaching the door and waving her left hand, âThanks, by the way.â
âAnytime!â He smiled, âBut donât forget to come back in a week and no presâ!â
âI got it, Doc.â She said as she exited the door and came in contact with Ryuko. She nodded towards the women, âAfternoon.â
âGood afternoon, F/n.â She said with a wide smile before entering the small building.
With the door closing, F/n stood in front of the building and let out a sigh as she looked over the streets. There werenât many people out since it was cold. A winter storm would hit it any day and who knew how people would survive that. Perhaps Nezu would gather everyone into a building so they could huddle up like penguins. Itâd be crampy and uncomfortable, but at least everyone would live to see the next season.
Instead of eyeing or staring at a random walking by, she headed up towards the gate where a tiny shop of household items and other essentials were placed. It's where Hanta used to work and she hasnât been there since he died. It wasnât like she ever stopped by anyways. If it werenât Izuku, it would be Katsuki who brought supplies for the home. They never allowed Shoto to do any, especially the cooking. Having grown up in a home with housemaids, that man knew nothing about maintaining a clean home, but most of all, how to make a scrumptious meal.
That caused a smile to grow. âSomething good happened?â
Her smile dropped as her eyes met with a pair of yellow ones. She stood outside the garage which was held as the shop for the community. Placing her hands in her pockets, except her right one, the h/c haired girl tried recalling who stood in front of her, âMina..right?â
âYep!â She placed an empty crate on a wooden table before turning sound and grabbing laundry items, âYou doing alright, F/n? Ochaco told me about what happened on your run. You need to take some time to rest, yâknow? Falling from that height, makes me think you're invincible.â
While Mina placed the items into the crate, F/n leaned against the table where beside her was a couple items that had been left unstock. The pink-haired was most likely busy if she hadn't had time to put them away. Having her uninjured hand reach beside her, she picked up a pack of cigarettes, âIâm sure Iâll be fine without resting. Thereâs a lot to do anyway.â
âBut, most require both of your hands.â She teased, picking up the crate that was now filled. As she approached the exit, she glanced back at the girl, âIâm off, but Iâll be back later. Youâre welcome to stay here as long as you want, but please make sure to write down anything you take so we know whatâs running low. The clipboards on the main door.â
âSure.â F/n nodded, eyeing the clipboard that hung on a door that led to the main part of the home. Before Mina left her field of vision, she called out to her, âWaitâuh, you happen to know where Katsuki is?â
âKatsuki?â Miina hummed, âI think heâs at Eijiroâs place. Iâm not sure, but youâre free to check.â
âRight, thank you.â Leaving with a smile, F/n turned back to the table, the small box of cigarettes in her left hand as she planned on what to do next to keep herself occupied. She didnât want to see the blonde just yet. Despite it being chilly, she wanted to have some time for herself, which is why she sat on a patch of grass behind the small farm. While her field of vision was a gray slab of metal that protected Sorston, she imagined it to be a field of grass with the sun just rising.
It would have been a cliche imagination, if it werenât for the lit cigarette in her hand. She didnât smoke, nor would she ever. Just the smell reminded her of her child home since her father liked to smoke early in the morning. The smell alone gave her a headache and just imagining the taste had her wanting to retch, but the little stick between the pads of her index and thumb oddly felt comforting in her fingers.
âI hope weâre not smoking, F/n.â Startled at the sound of the familiar voice, she turned to stare into the pair of black eyes and just below was a smile, âLegal age of smoking is 20 and Iâm quite certain you have a few long months before you turn.â
âI didnât know the law still appliesâŠâ She stubbed the cigarette, the small piece of grass being stained with ash, âin the apocalypse.â
âWouldnât it be nice to go back to how we used to live?â Nezu asked as he moved his eyes away from her and placed them to what she was previously viewingâthe wall.
She shrugged, placing the box of cigarettes in her pockets, âNo, not really.â
âI disagree.â With his hands interlocked behind his back, he ignored the wind that ruffled his locks of pale hair. Smiling, he shuffled on his feet, turning to walk back to the neighborhood of Sorston, âWould you like to take a walk with me?â
âUhââ He gave her no chance of responding as he headed off without her. Quickly, she stood and dusted any lingering dead grass that got picked up with her clothing as she followed behind, unsure of why he would ask her of all people to keep him company, â...Where?â
Letting his lungs take in a breath of the chilly wind, he spoke, âSometimes, I like to walk around and see how everyone is adjusting. Since Iâm not an entirely busy person anymore, I do get a lot of free time and like spending my time by seeing the people who still breathe and smile like theyâre intended to. Unfortunately, resting is not in my vocabulary.â
âAt least thereâs something we have in common.â She muttered under her breath to which he chuckled. âWe have a lot of things in common, F/n.â
âYeah?â She wanted to scoff at that, doubtful of what they could possibly share, âLike what?â
âLike for one, the experimental backstory that weighs in our hands.â He said with a cheery tone and it left her perplexed, especially with that smile, âOr, in your case, hand.â
âHa. Alright, I see, weâre joking now.â She glanced down to her right hand that was bandaged up before shaking her headâto which sometimes resembles a wet dog in the eyes of heterochromia, âBut, what..do you mean by that?â
Walking down the empty streets, just faintly could they hear the sounds of people chattering within their homes, âI know every detail about my students, F/n. While some don't have an interesting background, there are a few who meet the criteria and you happen to be on that list. As a principal of a top-ranked high school itâs my job to know who enters and not to mention the strings of connections I had to the government. I had access to everything.â
âRight.â She mumbled as she recalled rumors swirling about his connection to the higher people and since Shoto, who was the son of Enji, was schooled it wouldnât be surprising if those rumors came to be true. Someone like Enji would want to keep a close eye on his son to make sure his status wouldn't be tarnish and Shoto had mentioned his fatherâs occupation, âYour connection would be Shotoâs father, Iâm guessing.â
âYouâre very smart.â He said chirpily, but to her ears it sounded sarcastic, âWhile I did have help from Mr. Enji, I had my own relation to the government.â
They continued to walk down the street, occasionally with Nezu waving at a child and their parents who waved at him. She would eye them, but not a wave would be introduced as they paid no mind to her. As she was about to speak, ask about his relationship to the government, he spoke and it left her in shock to where she stopped for a brief moment. âAs a child, I was experimented on.â
Her eyes glanced back and forth to him, unsure of what to say as he lips quivered, âB-Hoââ
âI was an orphan and thereâs no need to worry about what I had to endure as Iâm not here to talk about me.â He glanced at her with a never ending smile and she wondered what his mind was racking up with, âWhat we share is a similar story.â
âWhat?â She scoffed, despite feeling it was rude, âNo, we donât.â
âWe were both used in the intent of becoming war machines.â He stared straight ahead, his speed never quickening as it was kept to keep in match of hers, âExcept one of us was raised by a supposed convict.â
Eyes widening, they slowly turned to look towards him. No one beside her family knew of her fatherâs crime, not even Izuku, Shoto and Katsuki knew of it. âI know everything about my students, especially those who come from a dangerous background.â
A quiet sigh then left his lips, âWhen your application came in, I was quite fascinated after digging deeper through your family's root. Your father served in the military and the school had similar programs for that, but to my surprise you chose to stay in engineering. Which made me wonder if you were trying to run away from what your roots wanted you to be.
âPerhaps you wanted to disconnect yourself from your family and find your own path.â It wasnât completely true, but it also wasnât a complete lie. Being in school did feel free, âThough you do have to admit that without the harsh training youâve received, you wouldnât have caught my eye. I wouldnât have put such high hopes in you.â
Her brow twitched and as softly as her voice could lower, she spoke, âWhat does that mean?â
âWe also share the burdened pressure of people's lives.â Finally, his smile dropped and they both stopped. She noticed they were in front of his building. âYouâre a very skilled person, F/n. I admire that despite you thinking itâs a curse. Youâve managed to make it this far and you would have with or without the help of your friends. With your sharp, quick hands, youâve decreased the number of dead that once knocked on the gates and we're all utterly grateful for that.
âAnd I truly like to believe that someday, the past will come back and weâll live like we used to. While a lot will still be resting in eternal peace, their sacrifices will have been for not and us humans will continue to hold their remembrance in our hearts until weâve all perished. You are a strategic fighter and with your stubbornness of losing, I can see our future in your hands.â
Her lips parted. Her eyes glanced to the side as she couldnât bear to stare at him as she was at a loss for words. Though he spoke while she waited for a sentence to form, however, there was a hint of sorrow, âMr. Yagi believed Izuku would be our young hero too.â
And we all know how that went down. With his sorrow being replaced with his usual high-pitch voice, his smile returned, âYouâre not the only one I have my hopes on, F/n, so let this ease you.â
Swallowing, she took in a deep breath, âThat sounds like a lot of pressure, Mr. Nezu.â
âPlease, just Nezu.â He continued into the direction of his home, âThereâs no reason for Mr since Iâm not your principal anymore. You would have graduated and legally you're an adult now.â
Sometimes, she wished she was a kid. After hearing his footsteps retreating, she looked up towards him as he stepped further onto his porch. She still had millions of questions, but the man was mysterious and annoyingly she wouldnât get a word out of him without a meaning. So perhaps in this conversation she would take it to heart, âWait!â
She placed a foot on the first step of the stairs, her voice urgent, âW-What about your theory about the dead turning mutants?â
He hummed with his hand on his doorknob. His neck craned to look back at her and she could still see that smile, âA theory like that should be kept quiet.â
âYea, buââ He turned the knob, âIâm concerned about my theory being correct. Itâs hard as it is just projecting a small community from the dead who walk, but if the dead advanced into mutant, like for instance they began to run or become stronger in strength, Iâm afraid they would be unstoppable and thus the end for all of us. Having said that, if they were to gain human intelligence, I would like to work around that. My naivety makes me think not all dead would be the same, but that's judging who they used to be when they were alive. All we can hope is that my theory will be just thatâa theory.â
âAnd if that's not the case?â Her hand clenched on the wooden railing, browse narrowed in what he would say, worried.
âThereâs no need to be worried.â He hummed again, but his theory wouldnât be far-stretched considering his knowledge of experiments. He knew this outbreak wasnât anything accidental, so it did worry him about what exactly was supposed to truly happen when the virus came out âOn the brightside, with the mutants being true, it would be difficult for Tomura to demand for supplies.â
She blinked, her eyes traveling to the floor, but they sprung back up to him. âI should let you know in advance that Toga would like to take a trip with you sometime this week. Iâm not sure about the details, so please, be cautious. Have a good night, F/n.â
He closed the door and she was left alone on his porch. Hearing footsteps sound to her let, she lowered her head as a few chattering people pass by with a box of supplies. They seemed around her age and thankfully they didnât notice her as she wasnât in mood to strike a conversation. Letting go of the railing and stepping away from Nezuâs home, she took a longer route to her own home where Katsuki would be waiting for her.
âWhat if youâre wrong, Mr. Nezu? You canât expect me to be the future.â She muttered as she kicked a pebble. She never thought her skills would be the epitome of people's future. She knew she was different, that part was obvious. While everyone else pursued their careers and lived happy lives with the people they loved, she was destined to be that old cranky woman who lived outside of Musutafu, rumored to hoard dead animals in her basement and shoot at anyone who approaches her property. What the hell kind of future was that?
She could see that role being Izukuâsâhell maybe even Shotoâs, but not hers. Sadly enough, she would have to sleep the conversation in mind, though that is if she does sleep, âYou put a lot of faith in someone who welcomes death with open arms.â
Under her breath she said as she entered the home. The warmth hit her face, letting her cheeks warm from the cold air. She could see the lamps from the kitchen and living room on, meaning Katsuki was here, but she couldnât see him. Removing her shoes, she settled for the couch, wincing when she let her right hand come into contact with the arm.
Coming down the stairs with a box in hand, the blonde scoffed, âStupid.â
âShut up.â She groaned, readjusting her hand, âShit fucking hurts.â
âIt's a broken wrist.â He strolled past her to enter the kitchen, âPink cheeks and Dunceface are coming by to cook, not that the moron knows. Itâs a survival skill. How the hell are you not going to know how to cook when your shitty life depends on it.â
He rolled his eyes, amusing the girl, âShitty hairâs busy with four eyes, so heâs not coming.â
âOh, alright, I see we are fond of nicknames.â She kicked her feet up on the coffee table. She could hear him moving items in the kitchen, âWhatâs with the box?â
âPutting away shit we donât need. It's a damn clutter and half of this doesn't even match the home.â He then entered the living room, stopping at the entrance to eye her, âWhere were you? Racoon eyes said you asked for me.â
âI was getting my hand treated then had some time for myself.â She kept the conversation with Nezu private. She wasnât really sure of what to say if Katsuki had asked her questions about his statements. She was still perplexed about the sudden notion. Slumping down on the sofa, she shrugged, âAnyways, I was just wondering what you were up to.â
He sniffled and with his nose twitching, he glared down at her, âYou smell like cigarettes. Donât tell me youâd be stupid enough to do that.â
âNo, I didnât.â She could feel the box in her pockets, âI just lit one up and wanted to pretend to be a middle aged man coming home after a long day of work.â
He rolled his eyes at that and proceeded to move towards the front door, âStupid imagination.â
âYouâre really hurting my feelings right now.â She said, unbeknownst to him, she adorned a smile.
Taking a step on the porch, his right hand was kept latched on the knob. Taking a glance at her, he mumbled, âIâll be back, so donât go falling asleep when you havenât eaten all day.â

Huffing and breaths of fog escaping her lips, her eyebrows would twitch every so often from the stinging sensation coming from her ankle. She was in pain and the tight grip Katsuki had on her did not help one bit, but she knew the grip wasnât from anything malicious. On the other note, she was thankful to keep up with him and Ochaco who led them both to the car. Having him carry her was out of the question and she knew she had no strength in her to fight the male less she wanted to wear her body out even more.
Sheâd have to keep off her feet for a whileâwhich she wished sheâd rather die insteadâand as for her wrist, no pressure should be added. But, it wasnât like she was missing much due to the shortage of guns going around at her camp and it's not like her skills would be missed when there's plenty of other skills at home. What she would miss is a breath of fresh air from outside the walls of Sorston that would soon cave her in.
âWith all that noise you're making, the dead will hear you soon.â Ochaco stopped her movement as she turned to eye the girl. Luckily, blood stopped dripping from the side of F/nâs head and Ochaco wasnât sure if she had noticed it yet, but despite the head injuries that could be severe Ochaco needed F/n to get off her feet before it became an injury that couldnât be healed with the little amount of supplies they have, âI know you donât like the idea of Katsuki carââ
âThatâs a no.â She muttered, clenching her teeth from the pain.
Katsuki rolled his eyes, readjusting her as he felt her arm sliding off his shoulders, âYouâre not in any position to talk.â
âIâd rather have my brains splattered all over this pavement before being seen as weakââ She said as she quickly let out a pained groan as the blonde lightly punched her side.
âKeep talking like that and Iâll make sure the next one knocks you out.â Her comment sounded all too familiar and not once since meeting her did she look weak. Even in pain she looked impressive. Nudging his head to Ochaco, he spoke, âWhat were you thinking of doing.â
She ignored the action as she glanced at the buildings surrounding them before looking down the road, âIt would be better if I go on alone and drive the car here while you and F/n stay in one of these buildings. Like I was saying, I donât want F/nâs ankle to get any worse and when killing a dead, we donât want the blood to get on it. Then, that would be another problem that not even we know what would happen.â
He let out a hum as he picked out a building, but there was a problem he didnât seem to be fond of, âYou think you can handle being alone?â
âOf course.â Smiling and giving him a sad chuckle, she nodded, âI was alone after U.A. If I can handle months, a couple of minutes will be nothing.â
He knew some parts of her before reaching Sorston and he wasnât going to pry anymore information out of her after hearing her parents death. While he didnât show it, he was worried something would happen to her and he knew better than to think of that when sheâs proven countless times just how strong she could be in the moment. Afterall, he was the one who trained her back at U.A when they had elective classes that required being fit.
She was his friendâdare he say a dear friend and it wasnât just because of a certain freckle male that they both loved. They had similarities. They loved fighting, but most of all they loved protecting who they loved despite not being able to save them all. She had determination that kept her alive and Katsuki is willing to make sure it stays alive, âTake my knife.â
He reached into the back of his waistband where he then handed her his sheath blade, âWhere going to wait for you in that one.â
Eyeing the building he pointed, Ochaco nodded, âIâll try not to take long, but if I do it's because I had to take a different street since thereâs a lot of stuff in the way. You should also search the building while F/n gets her rest.â
âDuh.â He dryly said before taking off, âIf something else comes up donât bother coming back. Just go home and weâll find a way back.â
âLike Iâd let that happen.â She mumbled before leaving them both.
After struggling in getting F/n through the door since they both couldn't fit through the one, he sat her down on a kitchen chair where he then rummaged through. While he did so, she adjusted herself so she wasn't slouched. There was a quiet groan that came from her as she tried moving her right wrist that was presumed broken, âI didnât know having a broken hand would hurt so much.â
âIt's a broken bone, dumbass.â He opened the pantry closet, âShitâs going to hurt.â
âWell,â She let out a sigh, eyeing his form, âI just thought those actors were always exaggerating. Theyâll cry and scream, and yeah, sure, their leg is backward, but is it that bad?â
Placing an empty cardboard snack back on its shelf, he moved his light towards her, eyeing her carefully. Her pupils aren't dilated, but it was difficult to see since she shielded her eyes from the blaring light, however, her words sounded slurred, âWhat are you seeing right now?â
âHuh?â She kept her hand hovering as the light hurt, âI see a barbaric man standing in front of me and like the jackass he is, he has his light burning my damn fucking eyes. Move it.â
âTsk.â He moved back to the pantry, mumbling to himself, âThe hell was I expecting.â
â....Tell you that the roomâs spinning?â She scoffed, looking away before glancing back at him, a bead of sweat rolling down from her hairline, ââCause it is by the way and I feel nauseous.â
He dropped a can of corn as he rushed to her side, âWhy didnât you say shit?â
He placed the flashlight on the table before sitting across from her. He glanced at her ankle, but since he wasnât a nurse or a doctor he couldnât tell if it was good since it didnât seem to be infected, though it was too early to tell. Then did he widen her eyes to get a good look at it.
âDude, what the hell.â She tried pulling back, but he kept her head still.
âYou want to know if you got a head injury and die then keep moving.â His thumbs were pressed against her eye bags while his index fingers were kept above her lids and he could feel her eyebrows, âYour pupils look fine, but you look like shit.â
She rolled her eyes, sitting back in her chair and away from him, âOkay, dickhead, like youâre in any position to talk and youâre not even a doctor.â
âWhatever!â He moved to his seat while nudging her leg, âGive me your damn ankle.â
She grunted as she lifted her leg, âBet you were an ankle biter when you were a child.â
âAnd so what if I was.â He could feel his heart hammering.
âIt explains why youâre so you.â And she wondered if hers was the cause of him or the injuries.
Having her leg on his lap, he grabbed his bag that he placed on the table. He looked for an alcohol pad and when finding it, he ripped the small packet. He pulled her sock down so it wouldnât get in the way before cleaning around the wound, making sure the pad absorbed the blood. Since he was looking down, his hair blocked her face and so he was unaware of her stares.
Which she felt relieved of, since there was a pain expression as she stared at his cheeks that she never thought she would want to caress. She looked elsewhere, but like a record player her eyes landed back on him.
There was comfortable silence and she was grateful for that, âDo you sometimes thinkâŠwhat would have happened if I had left?â
There was a noticeable pause from his movement. He raised his head to grab another pad, avoiding the eye contact she wanted to make. He returned to her wound and with a shrug he spoke, âWhy does it matter? You think that if you had left, Deku or Icy Hot would have still been here? Is that what you want me to tell you?â
She blinked as she eyed his lips, â...No.â
He shrugged again, âSo why fucking ask?â
She continued to stare, but she couldnât tell jaw was clenched as the light didn't allow his features to be expressed to her, âBecause I want to talk to you.â
He threw the dirty pad on the floor, reaching his bag to find a clean cloth that would wrap around her ankle, but when he did not find one, he let out a soft scoff as he placed her feet back on the floor and with his bag on his shoulders he headed to the main part of the house, âStay here, Iâll go look for stuff.â
She leaned on her hand, letting her eyes glance at a painting of a bird, â..Sorry.âÂ

What was supposed to be an easy run, turned difficult. Sitting on the ground with one leg raised and the other resting on the floor, F/n clutched the left side of her jeans as her brows furrowed in pain. Her wrist hurt, but near her ankle a glass was skewered and it stuck out like a sore thumb. While the glass was coated in her blood, spots of dirt could be barely seen and she didnât know if it would give her an infection. That was the last thing she wanted as painkillers werenât easy to find nowadays.
Earlier, she along with Katsuki and Ochaco had entered a mall and due to its many stores with its many floors, they had separated to cover more ground. From the moment they entered, the stores appeared to be untouched which gave them hope in scouring something good. There were a few dead that lingered around, but with a quick careful stab to its head, the dead wasnât a problem, however, because of the building's darkness they couldnât look far ahead to see if there were any more. Their dim flashlight only helped so little.
Having reached the third floor and finding a sporting store, she had carefully entered to evade the droplets of water that seeped through the cracks of the ceiling. Since the building no longer had its maintenance, mold began to grow and at any moment the ceiling above would collapse from the puddles of rain. She didnât know that, nor did she know that the floor would also cave in the longer she proceeded to walk around.
There was a notice of the floor feeling soft underneath her every step and it creaked quietly, but she underestimated the time it would collapse. So when she found the camping aisle, only a step was all it took for the floor to come down with a big crash that followed after and the echoes that shrieked against her ears as she fell to the floor below her. She had no time to let out a yell as furniture and items had fallen on herâincluding a glass cabinet.
With the crash being loud, it caught the ears of the two on the far side of where F/n last entered. Quickly, Katsuki dropped useless items before running out the store and standing against the railings that prevented people from falling. His hands were placed on the cold, dusty metal as he looked over board. His flashlight had been turned off as he didnât want the light to disturb intruders who could have made the noise. He didnât know it was F/n, as in that moment he was being cautious and he couldnât believe she would be so careless in causing such a reckless noise.
âKatsuki!â A whispered-yelled was then heard on the third floor and a light was shone on him. Ochaco stood on the bridge of the third floor and there was a panicked look on her face. Seeing Katsuki shrug, he held his hand in the air signaling her to not move while observing the situation. She nodded as they both waited for F/n to come out, but after a minute passed there was a feeling and Katsuki darted off to where she was last seen. Annoyingly, since Ochaco was on the third floor, she had trouble keeping up, but after spotting the escalator she skipped a few steps where she then reached the second floor.
Just ahead she could see the blonde, âWhere did she go? It sounded close, but something that loud couldnât be caused by just her and if she was in trouble, wouldn't she have yelled something?â
They both continued their pace of running and hearing Ochacoâs question, Katsuki doubted F/n would have yelled for help. She wasnât one to do so and while at times it irritated him, he couldnât complain as he did the same. But for once, he just wanted her to scream for his help instead of having these worried, deathly thoughts plague his mind. This is probably what Izuku felt all those times Katsuki was in trouble and those times at the beginning of the apocalypse where they were separated for a couple months.
âShe doesnât do that.â He mumbled and Ochaco barely caught it. Having never gone on a trip with them, she assumed making noises was ordinary for them as it kept the dead away, but after seeing the blonde's worried look before he shook it off, that wasnât the case.
âWe shouldâve had walkies.â Katuksi muttered, âI thought we had a couple.â
There was a split glance at him, â...Since Mr. Aizawa and Mr. Yagi along with you and the others, those were the last ones we had. I guessâŠwe decided if we didnât want another incident to happen we should avoid those, besides, Tomura gathered the rest when he came.â
He held back his tongue. Instead, to replace the burden of memory, he eyed the stores they came across, ignoring the dead that turned to his direction as the two carried on in finding F/n.
Feeling sore and her right wrist burning, most likely broken from the impact, she used her left hand to remove any other items that had fallen on her. She groaned and struggled as every move was painful. Her back was first to come into contact with a shoe rack and her head followed after hitting the floor. Thankfully, in the process she was able to protect her head with her left arm wrapping around her head, but unfortunately she tried to use her right hand to stop her from falling. Now she suffered the consequences and was left with a broken wrist.
Carefully, she removed the glass from her skin and let out a quiet hiss at the stinging pain that felt like thousands of tiny swords stabbing her. Letting the bloody glass clank on the floor she removed the tiny bits of glass from her clothes before using what looked like a broken shoe stool to hold her steady as she tried to stand. However, she placed herself back on the floor as putting pressure on her feet was aching. With her broken wrist cradle to her chest she dropped her left arm to the floor and after followed a heavy high. Feeling pathetic, never in her miserable life did she ever break a bone.
Throughout the punishments and trips her father would put on her, she maintained her body in a healthy state and as long as she followed his rules, no harm like a silly broken wrist would come. But, she let her guard down and now she was swallowed in shame. There was the option of calling for Katsuki or Ochaco and due to the noise it wouldâve also attracted rotters. The dead would have trouble in getting to her from the messy furniture laying around, though she wouldn't be surprised if the floor collapsing had killed the dead that were underneath the third floor.
Whatever the case, a deep sigh escaped her nose, âDumbassâŠâ
Most importantly, she was lucky she didnât die from the impact. If she didâŠthat would have been relieving. At least she would finally get some peace that she longed for, âWhere the hell is my knife..â
Trying to move items, she couldnât spot the blade, nor her flashlight. She was left in the dark and as she looked around, her ear caught the faint sound of thumping steps. Squinting in front of her she tried her best to see what was coming for her. It could be her friends, which she secretly hoped it wasnât as she didnât want them to see her in this state, but if it was someone else sheâd be a goner.
Shutting her eyes for a brief moment, she took in a breath before using her hand to push her up and just as she was about to, a light flash to her and she shielded her eyes. âWhat the fuck..â
âF/n!â Ochaco worryingly yelled as she moved into the store, moving around the clutter to get to her, âWhy didnât you callââ
âCouldnât you have fucken said anything!?â Katsuki angrily shouted, uncaring if he alerted the dead. Steadily climbed the clutter, âFucking say somethâDonât close you eyes, stay awake!â
A groan left F/nâs throat. Her head pounded and Katsukiâs yells didnât help, â..Keep your voice down, Iâm fiââ
âItâs clear that you're not fine!â Ochaco decided to ignore the clutter and followed Katsukiâs actions. Aiming her light at the injured girl, Ochaco noticed her bloody ankle and her wrist being held to her chest, âDid you break your hand and your leg? Did you hit your head?â
Finally reaching her, Katsuki kneeled next to her feet, examining her ankle. The hems of her jeans were pulled and his hands hovered over her bloody wound, unsure of how to start the healing process, âHow the fuck do you fall and not call for me? Do you not realize that you couldâve fucking died? Did you hit your head that hard?â
F/n nodded, âI did hit my head and your voiceâŠmakes it hurt even more.â
âGood!â He ignored her flinch, âMaybe then youâll take this as a lesson and call me! Now give me your damn hand.â
âStop, that hurts.â She mumbled, not noticing the way he held her wrist in a softer manner.
Looking up, the brown-haired examined the damage. There wasnât much and F/n was lucky the roof didnât collapse as the spots of mold and water dripping from the ceiling was a showing sign it would at any moment, âLetâs get out of here before anything else happens. I know we havenât searched through the entire building, but if one of the stores collapse the others will soon. Weâll look elsewhere for stuff, but as of now those wounds will need to be tended to first.â
Ochaco then lowered he light to the girl. A crease of her brows were shown as she worried about how severe the wounds were, âIâm sure there's supplies in the medical room back home. Weâll have Mr. Chatora help you since he knows more about your wounds.â
Her lips then lowered, âAlsoâŠwith a broken wrist and your ankle I don't think youâll be able to walk. Weâll just have Katsuki carry you since heâs stronger than me.â
âYeah, no.â F/n waved her left hand, dismissing that option, âMy ankle isnât that bad. Iâm not a damsel in distress.â
âYour situation tells me otherwise.â Katuski rolled his eyes as he stood up. However, sensing her discomfort in being carried, he held his hand out for her to grab, âYouâre deadweight, youâll have to lean on us, but if you canât keep up and there's a horde Iâll carry you.â
âLet's pray to the heavens above that it doesnât happen.â She mumbled as she let out a groan when she pulled herself up. Ignoring the way his hands tightly held hers, she steadied herself thankful for Ochaco moving closer to her and supporting her with her hands.
âTry taking a step.â Ochaco said, keeping her hand on F/nâs arm. In the process and seeing her struggle in doing so, she shared a glance with Katsuki. Just barely could they spot blood staining the side of her head. If F/n hadnât noticed, it was most likely because the damage was critical , but they hoped it was just a cut.
âTotally fine.â F/n muttered.
When F/n turned to look at Ochaco, the girl looked back at her and smiled, âYep, totally fine, letâs just hurry and get outta here. Iâll proably go ahead of you guys to get the car and if it's goneâŠweâll look for another one.â
A nod was received. Taking in a quiet breath, Ochaco gave the girl a last look, âJustâŠdonât close your eyes and if you're feeling tiredâas if you want to sleep, say something, okay? There might be a concussion.â
âGot it, jeez.â She felt so pitiful.
âHold her tight.â After Ochaco began to move, Katsuki brought her left arm over his shoulders, keeping a tight grip on her as he took the first step. His left hand was placed on her ribs to keep her steady while his other hand held her left hand. Since the floor was a clutter of broken furniture, he had to be mindful of his steps. With every move, he placed his foot in front to test whether the step would support them both and if it did he continued.
She was in pain and it was very noticeable, but for a broken wrist and bloody injured ankle, she kept her pain in check. A twitch of an eyebrow and moving uncomfortably in his arms was all she let out. Thankfully, she could move her ankle and when she tried putting her weight on it there was a shrug from Katsukiâsilently telling her to quit it. Sheâll need to be off her feet for a while, which they both found disappointing.Â
