You look between the plastic grocery shoved into your arms and gaz, smirking in delight "really, kyle?"
"I panicked, okay?!" He whisper-shouts, wary of it being near midnight when your neighbors love to complain about you two.
Kyle blushes deep, something easy to miss hidden under his dark complexion. But you know where to look, hours spent staring more than you should making it easy to spot the blood pooling in embarrassment. You've never seen your roommate squirm so much.
"I just got dumped by my boyfriend of two years and you bought me..." you glance down at the bag, unable to hold off a snort "thirty dollars worth of cheese."
"I panicked!! You like cheese!!" Kyle's voice pitches up, waving a hand frantically at the bag as if that will help. "You were sobbing!"
Which. True. It still fucking hurts, but the hilarity of the situation makes it easy to ignore that sharp pain in your chest. You rummage around the bag "dude. There's not even any meats or crackers. Am I supposed to eat it straight?"
You would, gaz has seen you do it, but tessing him is more for your own sake than anything.
"I didn't just buy cheese." Kyle huffs, pouty in that adorable way he gets. He rummages though his backoack, pulling out a case that he holds up triumphantly "I also rented a movie!"
"....kyle...." You look between him and the tv not five feet away. The tv that you two regularly pirate and watch movies on. The horrible mix of all of the morning feelings and the sheer absurdity of kyles attempt at comfort leaves you feeling horribly fond of your friend.
You smile, toss the cheese into the fridge to be bargained off to ghost later and pull gaz to the couch.
You watch his shitty rented movie, and follow up with more pirated ones well into the night. He doesn't wake you up when you fall asleep on his shoulder, you deserve to rest.
For the nonny who requested "please rommy more gaz content i am starved please"
