Mike is complimenting Sulley's big claws :] and Sulley finds out he really likes Mike's touch... in a normal way ofc....

Once he starts to take Mike's coaching seriously, Sulley starts to realize just how little he knows about scaring. He starts to feel insecure and unconfident in himself. Now that Mike has put their rivalry behind them and warmed up to the big guy, Mike is able to admit all of the best parts of Sulley's features in a way that Sulley hadn't experienced before.

Mike is touchy once he gets close with someone, which is unnatural to Sulley at first because his status and big stature made people more reserved and careful around him. Sulley doesn't feel like Mike's analyzing and complimenting his scary features or his similarities to his dad, just being in the moment and surprised at how delicate Mike's being.

While I think that writing a redemption story for Randall is beyond my own writing skills, I DO propose a foundation: for someone like Randall to be redeemed, I think it requires him to be broken down and out of options.

Vision in his right eye and all camouflage abilities gone, thanks to severed fronds from a well-aimed shovel blade.
