I don't necessarily think he'd be progressive minded about it, but I really can't see Alastor being homophobic, even back when he was alive. He seems like the type to be so indifferent to what other people have going on internally, he'd feel the same way finding out someone is LGBTQ+ as he would finding out they're a Virgo. Like, "Thank you for the information, this means literally nothing to me." He is the centre of his own universe, why would he care if it doesn't affect him?

Possible tadc spoilers? But I'm not sure if I like the idea that people came up with that Caine is a full-on villain and that it all is being born from ONE episode. I'd say he's more complex than that and that reducing him to a selfish evil prick and an AM clone is not really right.

Caine imo lacks something that defines AM, that being hate for humans. He wants to be a good host and entertaining and fun. Otherwise what would be the the point of him making up the adventures if all he wanted was to torture his guests. He desperately wants to impress real humans and prove that he is capable and talanted. Just look at how he was with Zooble, constantly trying (and failing) to listen to them.

There can be an argument of "well, Caine never genuinely tried to listen to their wishes but he was great at exploiting their traumas. Caine is evil and doesn't listen, case closed" but like. Caine was shit at entertaining them because he tried to have his personality shine in the adventures. However, when he wants to actively hurt them he can just lose the "I want to implement my own ideas into everything" bit ENTIRELY and create the perfect hell for everyone because he (presumably) knows everything about them.

There is this conflict where Caine's ideas and wishes just are not shared with the rest of the gang. What Caine needed is, like, either a bunch of children who would love the diabetes-inducing adventures, or a bunch of cartoon characters. But his ACTUAL audience is a bunch of miserable adults, half of which are suicidal.

Caine is, in my humble opinion, more akin to an abandoned child, desperately looking for validation from those who hurt him.

agreed!! i think hes very complex and i find it stupid to just reduce him down to being "evil ai". clearly theres more to him and even when he had his inital "i am god" crashout, he didnt say anything about hating humans. he called them selfish, and then later on asked why they tormented him so.

right so hear me out; i KNOW that it's just the budget for the series getting higher and naturally the animation gets better HOWEVER, looking at these two images side by side...

it kind of makes me think that the different in animation style also looks like pomni getting more and more immersed in the virtual world. when she first arrives, everything looks very "game-like", virtual, etc. because she hasnt really connected with the world or body shes in, so everything still looks just like a computer program.

but, now, shes been in the digital world long enough (even if its just been 1-2 weeks) that she can see past everything just being 3d models, she can see the details in her design, maybe even see the beauty in it.

im not sure if im explaining this well, i just thought it was a cool way to look at it and i hope that what i mean makes sense.
