Hii I’m Alayna/artie/nugget !!! I’m 21 years old and am from Michigan!

I’m soon to be a CS/IT student at my local community college, on my way to be a tech furry stereotype LOL

I really love collecting physical media, playing with computers and operating systems, coding, drawing, fursuiting, learning about nature and natural history, and web development!! I also really love reading and music!!

Some of my favorite bands are: Limp Bizkit, Deftones, chevelle, ptv, sws, foo fighters, slipnot, cavetown, webcage etc

Some favorite movies: Guardians of gahoole, lilo and stitch, all httyd movies, LOTR, DUNE, and more!!

I’m in a lot of fandoms and will repost/make my own posts about them :3 !!

I really just want a place to post and blog where no one really knows who I am other than a few people :) so i will yap about all kinds of fandoms and interests, and day to day life !!

First day of classes was today!! The prof for my English composition class is lowkey awesome, she started the class out talking about how much she hates Jeff bezos and facism and she’s super into movies (literally teaches film classes and is getting her doctorate soon etc) I neeeed to find out if she likes DUNE and LOTR and if she likes physical media too that would be awesome. Cant wait to continue classes and hope tmrws classes go just as well :)

Me and my boyfriend went on a date and we went thrifting :3 I found a backpack for school for like $3 and it’s so awesome!! We also went to the midwestern classic, Culver’s and devoured an 8 piece meal, also last picture my boyfriend was supposed to take a normal picture so I could see the bag on me but his ass thought it would be funny to take a pic of his feet instead

Theodd1sout finally made a statement about why so many animators were let go from his team and with no context it does seem reasonable why. However I’m really suspicious of the fact none of the animators that have talked about the situation mentioned any of this. They all seemed extremely surprised about what happened as if they hadn’t been given much notice at all which is really shitty if that is the case.

I wanna hear more from his animators before I form an opinion on anything but James’ practices in general recently (one example being his online storefront) have been disappointing as someone who was a huge fan of his in the beginning.

Imagine if there was an account called "News Flashing" and it posted breaking news as seizure-inducing flashing black and white images, with a large group of supporters insisting that it's completely justified because it gets the Important News the attention they deserve, and actually if you block News Flashing you're doing a bad thing.

Now, given how self-evidently ridiculous that is, and how it's clear that you could just get your news from elsewhere, you can go ahead and mute or block that account that keeps posting important stuff presented in a way that hits your emotional weak points. Curate your feed to be safe for you.

Passively witnessing horrible things that are happening, which you already know are happening, because someone made you feel an obligation to keep looking long after you've gained all the education you possibly could, is irresponsible and a bad use of your time.

You, as a person on the internet watching things happen, have limited resources to materially affect these things. You can donate to some fundraisers, you can share some educational resources, you can consider involving yourself in organizations that work with this stuff more meaningfully. That's about it.

If you do obtain special skills that can help with a horrible situation, what you will get hammered in there is that when you leave work, you leave work. You take breaks, because if you don't stop dealing with whatever shit you're dealing with to reset and recharge, you will get worse at your job until your mistakes start becoming a liability.

That's for people whose actions actually do something meaningful. If they are obligated to stop and rest, then you, who are just burning yourself out by looking at things without doing anything, absolutely have to.

Use the fucking mute function. Use the fucking filters.

Yeah that's part of the horrors. Doesn't make doomscrolling productive. Trained firefighters go to bed and sleep while there are ongoing fires somewhere in the world, because while they might be able to get up and respond to a nearby emergency when needed, it's not feasible to have them stretch themselves thin to cover everything they could possibly help with. Reality will not realign to what is moral, your actions need to align with what's effective.
