Something I wrote during the pandemic

Why?

Why are we taught to stand for right but be quiet in front elders even if you are right

When an elder is correcting mistake of a person younger to him/her then it is said that the person is teaching something

But when the same thing happens with an interchange it is treated as a sign of disrespect

When age is just a number in love then why is it not in learning

Just elders are not always supposed to teach younger ones. When they can correct the younger ones then younger ones must have an equal right in speaking up and standing up for themselves and elders must listen first and then react. Not reacting without listening

Sometimes you just need to see the things from other's point of view as well as all the views can differ from one person to another

What may be right for one may be wrong for other

Change your view and you will see a new world waiting right in front of you, calling you for amazing adventures.

You don't have to force yourself to bounce back so quickly. I read something recently that said "when you come in from a rainstorm, you don't expect yourself to be dry and warm right away", and it really resonated with me. It's okay to take time to dry off and warm up. Take the time you need to process what happened to you.

If all your friends were jumping off a cliff...?

They always ask "if all your friends were jumping off a cliff, would you jump too?" As if that's really a valid question.

It ignores the rest of the situation. What is the reason they are jumping off a cliff? - Is something chasing them?

It also ignores whether it is safe to jump. What if the waters are safe below, or if it is a small jump.

I think the same applies for the “Would you slap your best friend for a billion dollars?” kind of questions. Like, why are we assuming that the slap is going to be painful, she’s going to have my red handprint on her cheek, no, I could simply tap her face as if I’m waking her up. If it has to be forceful, maybe I’ll slap her back so it isn’t hurtful, and I can just simply pretend I slapped because of the sound it produces.

Oh also, my best friend would love to get slapped if it’s for a billion dollars lol.
