So I did another 1940s - 1950s doodle bit, this time with Medic and Engie.

Medic is around late teens to early adulthood, while Engie is around mid teens.

However, I hc that while Medic matured pretty fast, Engie was a late bloomer so he looked smaller and younger than most of his peers.

i just got into tf2 so i don’t have anyone else to send this to but i love the idea of scout speaking french but not knowing it because spy taught as a kid but he’s too young to consciously remember. spy realised when he insults someone in french and scout laughs at it, replying in english cause he didn’t even process it wasn’t english. everyone present being like uh wtf scout. spy holds a full convo w scout in french seeing how long before scout would realise he was not in fact speaking english and it took him a full hour, but he only realised because spy had never spoken to him for so long before. is this coherent

ack sorry i just saw this! but YES i love this headcanon a lot. i kind of relate because i grew up barely bilingual in that my parents spoke korean a lot but i only really learned english. i process a lot of korean words as familiar sounds that have meaning rather than a word with a strict definition. yeah i know these are both basically the same thing but the former is more like it’s an association i got solely by how familiar the sound is rather that something i learned? it’s just more of a feeling i guess. the point is that it’s so cool how it would come so unconsciously naturally to him! like if scout wasn’t necessarily fluent in french but could understand it without thinking much of it if he heard it!
