i need feminism because when jesus does a magic trick itâs a goddamn miracle but when a woman does a magic trick she gets burned at the stake
fabulousÂ
i mean they did also kill jesus. that was a pretty significant thing that happened. like i understand where youâre coming from here but they very much did kill jesus.

Little Mushroom has a very interesting reverse psychology thing going on with when the author chooses to name characters. Usually, named characters in a story are characters that will stick around for a while, but in Little Mushroom, these characters are liable to die within a chapter or two of being named. I realized that upon the introduction of a character only known as âthe boyâ that I felt relief that he hadnât been given a name, but the boy named Xi Bei I had met just a few chapters ago I had already lit a candle in my heart for. A bunch of characters begin to ask An Zhe about their relatives by name, and I can only think that if they already have names, it is only to identify a grave somewhere.
Somehow, Little Mushroom has made it so that there is a comfort in anonymity, that by virtue of being unnamed, the survival of this character amongst all the mass death becomes more possible. Achievable. 10,000 people were killed in a catastrophe, but 2,000 lived, and maybe amongst those unnamed 2,000 is the lab assistant who was left behind when resources were rationed or the child who had just graduated to military training, or the colleague a nemesis had briefly attempted to befriend. And the story validates this! It happens with Tang Lan, with Colin, and with Pauli, all characters who for all intents and purposes should have been dead but were instead gifted names way after their initial, anonymous introductions. Without that anonymity, though, your fate is certain. Mr. Shaw has a grave. The Poet has a grave. Bai Nan has a grave. The xenogenicâs little Bai Ye has a grave. And there can be nothing less ambiguous about it.
yoy all just hate me because I'm cold and distant and don't put effort into any relationships and off putting and frustrating to try to help or make plans with and I don't text and I don't call and I don't like doing much and I constantly make excuses for it all
