IV. The Emperor
The Emperor Symbolism: The Emperor is the father archetype to mirror the Empresses mother archetype. He sits upon a large throne adorn with four rams heads connecting him to Ares and Mars. In his right hand he holds an Ankh, the Egyptian symbol of life and in his left hold an orb representing the world. The red robe is for passion, power, and energy for life. The suit of amour shows that he is a protected from any threat (and any emotional response). The beard shows his old life and wisdom while his crown is for authority. Behind the throne is a mountain range showing he is backed in life with a solid foundation but resit change. Lastly the small river shows that beneath everything he is still an emotional being.
Meaning (Upright): The Emperor suggests you are going into a fatherly role, regardless of gender as the protector and provider of loved ones. You may be the “breadwinner” or the “rock” of the family. Or the Emperor is a powerful leader who demands respect and reflects a system bound by rules. In Love, if you are single and interested in men this could indicate a relationship with an older man. If you are single and interested in women this could indicate that you need to be more open with your feelings. For relationships this is a good indicator of monogamy and a lasting relationship. Career wise, your hard work will be noticed and you’ll reap the rewards.

Her robes have pomegranates on it and the cushion next to her has the symbol of Venus both symbols of fertility.
Meaning (Upright): The Empress has a strong connection to femininity which translates in many ways - elegance, sensuality, fertility, creative expression, and nurturing. This card calls you to connect with your femininity or delve into creative endeavors. You are in a period of growth and abundance. In Love, for singles it signifies love is on its way, for couples the relationship will become deeper and more loving. Career wise, it means you are full of ideas and if considering changing jobs see if the creative fields work out.

The High Priestess Symbolism: Behind the Priestess is a veil decorated with pomegranates. This represents the seen and unseen while the pomegranates are for abundance, fertility, and divine femininity. Her locations between the two pillars represent her as the mediator - the pillar in between. The two pillars represent femininity and masculinity, white and black, duality. The ‘B’ stands for Boaz meaning in his strength, the ‘J’ means Jachin ‘he will establish’. The crown she wears is the crown of Isis meaning she believes in magic. The solar cross means she is connected to the seasons and to earth itself. Lastly, the moon at her feet represents divine femininity, her intuition, and the moon cycles.
Meaning (Upright): The High Priestess is the guardian of the subconscious mind and the teacher of hidden knowledge. She tells you to listen to your intuition rather then your conscious mind. On the table in front of him sits objects representing the four Tarot suits - the cup, the pentacle, the sword, and the wand. Each representing the four elements as well - earth, air, water, and fire. His white rope represents purity and his red cloak represents worldly knowledge. The infinity sign above his head and the snake around his waist is for unlimited potential, lastly the flowers represent blossoming of his ideas.
Meaning (Upright): The Magician stands for pure willpower. You have all the tools, resources, and energy you need. The Fool Depiction: This card shows a young man full of life, excited and carries a simple sack with him. He is either unaware or simple naive to the dangers that lie just a step away. The dog (representing loyalty and protection) barks at him to move him forward to learn the lessons he needs. The white flower he holds represents innocence. The mountain represents challenges the fool has yet to face but soon will, even if he does not care at the current moment.
Meaning (Upright): The Fool is a positive card signalling new beginnings and adventures. You are about to step off the cliff into the unknown and too follow your heart. In regards to love, be bold and open to new experiences and could indicate a new romance is up ahead. Career wise The Fool indicates a new job, project, or opportunity is in store or to put new life into old projects.
