okay yes sam and eileen reinstate the men of letters and operate out of the bunker BUT the bunker is huge!! i think they ultimately decide to dedicate a wing of it (which they keep essentially separate, for safety) to being a kind of nursery/daycare/boarding school situation for hunters’ kids and kids whose lives have generally been upturned by the supernatural. i think it kind of starts by accident because sam sure as hell isn’t gonna turn away a couple kids who need a safe place while their dad’s on a hunt, and damn at least their dad asked for a safe place for them, and then it just kind of grows from there as more people start dropping their kids off

donna quits the force to come help spearhead things when they eventually have a full gaggle of kids rotating in and out 24/7. kevin tran AP alive girl finds purpose in helping to tutor the older kids because he knows first hand how high school is a god damn nightmare when your life is involuntary wrapped up in this horseshit, and maybe it helps to have a teacher who understands. linda makes regular appearances and the kids ask “are we getting mama tran or principle tran today” (“that depends,” she says, “did you finish your latin this time?”)

donna asks claire and kaia to come help one week and claire is instantly completely devoted to the little ones. kaia is afraid to hold them at first until claire smiles and says “it’s okay, they’re tough little guys, aren’tcha?”

dean and cas have taken a step back to heal in their own way, but they live by the lake about a half hour down the road, and they visit often. all the other kids love playing with jack (this works regardless of whether he himself is a toddler or not) and dean sings them all silly made up songs. “mr. cas” becomes famous for his puppet shows. word of this reaches garth, who immediately drives down to make a special guest appearance with mr. fizzles
