jurdan drinking game headcanon

i have literally been thinking about this headcanon for weeks and i need to share it now. we all know that cardan is super proud of his wife and calls her that frequently. so i present to you: the drinking game.

the roach and the bomb devise a drinking game. (okay mostly the bomb) the rules? simple: anytime they are within earshot of cardan and hear him refer to jude as "my wife," they take a shot.

this has been known to cause them to be wasted at revels, dinners, and matters of state.

(cardan's the king so there's always alcohol near by anyway)

they don't tell anyone about it. it is purely for their own amusement.

and yet somehow, people around them start to figure out the game. but no one snitches to cardan. everyone in court thinks it is the funniest shit ever. before bomb and roach realize it, the group of people who participate in the game is growing at an alarming rate. it only manages to make them laugh even harder.

no matter how many people get into the game, cardan never seems to find out.

the bomb with never forget when she was milling about the crowd at a state dinner, and, while sitting 30-ish feet from the high table where the high queen and king were speaking to lord roiben and kaye from the court of termites, overheard cardan say "my wife has informed me-". and just as a servant passed by with a tray of small acorns filled with liquor, jude grabbed one off the tray, made direct eye contact with the bomb, gave her the most bored, weary, and otherwise emotionless look, and took a shot.

the bomb could be heard cackling from nearly fourty feet away.

ok so in the I Bet You Think About Me music video, when she's giving her speech, she's wearing a red suit that's very reminiscent of the ME! music video, but a red version. even her hair style is similar (if i'm remembering correctly)

and i JUST figured out why that seemed significant.

in IBYTAM she says "does it make you feel sad that the love that you're looking for is the love that you had?"

and the VERY first line in ME! is "i promise that you'll never find another like me."

I don't think Shannon has actually decided on a specific personality for Fintan.

Half the time, he's this solemn serious noble elf who's deeply concerned about the state of the world and is willing to do what it takes to fix it. (Like in Exile, Everblaze, and Flashback)

In the other half, he's manipulative and power-hungry and creepy and is trying to regain his former power so he can rule the world. (Like in Lodestar and Nightfall)

And in the third half of the time (it's the weekend, I don't want to do math), he's an impulsive little over-dramatic gremlin who makes puns about fire and laughs a lot. (Like in Neverseen and at various points in the other books)

And he's constantly switching between these three versions of Fintan.

i reallllyyyyyy want sophie to discover that keefe is gone and has like an entire panic attack and runs to her bathroom, locks the door, and as sandor pounds on the door, she is like completely freaking out and eventually decides that her hair is suffocating her and chops it off at the neck. then she collapses to the floor and cries while still clutching her bundle of cut hair.

For some reason I’m 99% sure that the Keeper movie (movies? for the sake of the question let’s pretend they make enough movies to get to the point where the whole main cast is there.) is going to cut out/drastically alter one of the main characters, so if they did do that to one of them, who do you think it’d be? I honestly think they’re going to cut out Marella and just have Sophie meet Dex earlier on instead to meet the run time, but that’s just a guess.

Yep—Marella's definitely going to go. Movies almost never give main characters more than one female best friend. So either Marella will go, or Biana will.

My money's on one of Sophie's boys being cut out as well. Three love interests is a lot. Since Keefe and Dex both fit the prankster category, they might decide that having both is a bit redundant and get rid of one. Or merge them together. Have Keefe meet Sophie while ditching class like in the books, but give him red hair and make him good with technology and alchemy. Biana would take Dex's place as Sophie's best friend (possibly being renamed), and her enemies-to-friends arc with Sophie would be erased, since having both her and Stina being mean to Sophie is a bit redundant anyways.

I wouldn't be surprised if they cut quite a few people. Our current crew is Sophie, Fitz, Keefe, Biana, Dex, Tam, Linh, Wylie, Marella, Maruca, Stina, and Jensi. 12 people. That's a lot.
