Just like Old times || Bom & Sunggyu
Sunggyu wandered around campus, since he finished with all his classes. Might as well get something to eat before going back to my dorm. He pushed opened the door of verte cafe, hearing the soft chime of bells. It was almost empty, there was just a few people here. Either studying or taking a break from the long day, he eyed the area as he walked towards the cashier. "Hi, can I have an Iced Coffee?" Handing the lady the money.
It only took a minute when his order finally arrived. The sudden sound of bells caught his attention, when he finally took a seat near the window. Sunggyu looked up seeing a familiar face, Bom.
Bom was a past friend, ever since highschool. Them two were buddies, like best friends. They did not have any feelings for each other, the only relationship they had were friends, and they'd like to keep it that way. Sunggyu stood up from his seat. "Bom long time no see, I missed you!"
It wasn't Fate || Ailee & Sunggyu
The atmosphere had only gotten worse the few words theyâd exchanged. Ailee could only feign a smile and nod her head to Sunggyuâs response to her apology. Yes, school had kept her busy, but that didnât mean she didnât have down time. If sheâd really wanted to, if sheâd had the strength to, she could have continued learning the guitar, perfecting it. But the fact of the matter was, she wasnât strong enough to deal with the emotions that came with knowing that the memories were attached to something that could have been, and perhaps, something that was never meant to be. Sheâd never know, and not knowing was just another thing she wouldnât allow herself to think about.
She had intertwined her fingers, playing staring at the fading detail of her nail art when the choked confession left Sunggyuâs lips. By the time sheâd lifted her eyes to look at him heâd already stood up, walking toward the exit. She hesitated for a bit, wondering if that was how it was supposed to end, with marbled words and bottled feelings, but she knew that any kind of closure she invented from this run-in wouldnât be real. It wouldnât be satisfying.
So, after gathering her strength, Ailee stood up as well, going after the man who had her heart so many years ago, but neither of them strong enough to do anything about it. âSunggyu, wait,â Ailee called out, suddenly losing strength in her legs, causing her to stop in her tracks. âIââ And just like that, she understood the pause in Sunggyuâs words earlier. It was like the words clutched onto her throat, refusing to come out without a fight.
But taking a deep breath, Ailee steeled herself before attempting to speak those words again. âI loved you too,â she said, her voice quiet. She wished she could have said it louder because the wait to see if heâd even heard it was killing her, but she had neither the strength nor courage to say the words out again. They had drained more energy out of her than any practice sheâd intended on getting that day. She didnât know where the serendipitous meeting would go now that the both of them had gotten the words theyâd been holding back so long ago off their chests, but she knew that at least it had lifted some weight off ehr shoulders.
Maybe now that it was out in the open, they could both work on moving on.
He could only look up to the ceiling preventing the tears from falling. It only made it more difficult to leave, hearing her also confess. After such a long time, all these times they had alone time together. Sunggyu had the chance to say it to her, and show how he much he meant it. He felt a cold shiver along his back just hearing the same three words he said Ailee. The same three words that mocked him after such a long time. Everywhere he went, he felt shame all over him. Not being able to say it to her, not until now. Alone in this gym, as emptiness surround, only their voices were heard.
Sunggyuâs face fell, he did knew she loved him back. But he wasnât sure if she would say yes, maybe he was just afraid. Or perhaps, he just missed the chance. Just remembering the times where he would hug her tightly chuckling in the process, was all he could think. But it wasnât the same. Their relationship faded away, just like their feelings for each other. Was love just only playing with his heart?
He turned around to face her, feeling uneasiness fall down on him. Sunggyu pulled her into a tight long hug, embracing her, protecting her, hugging her. Letting all these emotions that were bottled up inside him, spill out like a container full of water. Feeling her soft long hair against his skin, and letting their cheeks brush. âItâs been a while since I hugged you, huh?â he let out a small chuckle.
It wasn't Fate || Ailee & Sunggyu
The words that spilled out of Sunggyuâs mouth were unexpected, though if she were being honest, she didnât really know what she expected to hear from him anyway. The awkward silence that settled over them was so foreign; they had always had something to say, something to do with each other, and even if silence did manage to befall them, it was always a comfortable one where they just enjoyed being in each otherâs presence. The fact that all of that was gone now just made the thickness of the air between them that much worse.
And now Ailee was sitting there, desperately searching for something to say that would break the silence that was suffocating her. She took in a deep breath before letting it out, slowly, until she felt lightheaded. Her hand toyed with the hem of her shirt before looking at Sunggyu. She wished she hadnât. He looked so dejected sitting there, and now she was saying words without thinking about them.
âIâm sorry,â she said, the words slipping out of her mouth before she even knew what she was saying sorry for. The words felt right, though, and she went with them, directing her gaze to the empty court in front of them. The words were heavy, but she didnât want to deal with the feeling, so she apologized for something else entirely. âI should have kept up with learning to play.â It sounded silly, she realized, but the guitar playing held more memories than just a lesson. It was memories of them.
Sunggyu lightly chuckled due to her attitude. "It's alright, Ailee." He continued countlessly. "I understand, your probably busy with school, huh?" All he wants is to have Ailee back in his arms, feeling her breath on his skin. Just like the old days when they hugged each other, as if no one was looking. But that was the past, wasn't it? You can't rewind back in time, and fix mistakes.
Perhaps, continuing on talking to her, staying right here in this same spot. Listening to her talk to him, and him replying to her. Was the only thing he could've dreamt for. It felt only like he was in a dream. Sunggyu tried to spit out what he was thinking, but it was caught up in his throat. "I-I..."Â
The words only made it even harder to say, making his voice quieter. Until he worked up to say what has been on his mind, before. "I loved you..." Sunggyu forced himself not to cry, resisting. He stood up walking towards the exit. Sunggyu didn't want to even look at her face, thinking she'd think it was wrong.
He didn't even want to show how he even felt, it was just so hard to say it after all this time, he has finally said those three words.
[Alternative] Sunggyu x Hoya
Hoya shut the last book he cited in his paper for Chemistry. The project he had taken weeks to conclude was about the breakdown of molecules in a popularly used prescription drug, or anything that was used widely amongst a large audience and the effects that the it had on a person. This paper was deeply involved with Health and Hoya was terribly lost, and decided that spicing up his paper a little wouldnât hurt. It was a bit childish of him to choose âmollyâ as his topic rather than something like Sudafed or NyqQuil, but due to recent song selection, he was extremely interested in the pill.Â
It had been a long time since seeing a dear friend of his, Sunggyu, and it came as a bit of a surprise to Hoya when he heard about him on campus. He decided to set up a day where they could break the ice again and reconnect their friendship. He was interested to hear how he was doing, what he has been up to while they had their hiatus in their friendship, and how his family has been. He missed him, and was curious to know what path his life has led him down.Â
He washed his face, trying to clean off the stress that was evident in his eyebags and changed his shirt before heading down to the student cafe, where he asked to see the âstrangerâ.Â
Sunggyu walked out of the men's locker room, just finished his basketball practice. It was a long day, of shootings, and workouts. The coach was way to hard on them today, it was a pain for Sunggyu to even think about it. Just running back and forth the gym was already good enough, but making them do suicides was just even worse.
It wasn't only practice that was on his mind, it was also his past friend, Hoya. It has been a long while seeing his old friend, and well too long too. Sunggyu doesn't even remember when was the last time he even saw his face. But hearing Hoya goes to the same school as he, made him a bit happy for today.
He was then invited to the cafe, to see him. Which made Sunggyu a bit interested. Sunggyu wore a black polo, before stepping outside to meet up with him.
ăăȘăŒăăŒăș || Sunggyu & Hwae Ji
I do not want to be here, I do not want to be here, I do not want to be here, I do not want to be here, I do not want to be here -Â
Her thoughts were constant, unchanging. The same line repeating itself and reproducing and multiplying in her head by the second, by the millisecond. Her frown deepened as she leaned over her desk, her hair slipping from behind her ear and falling into the mess of eraser shavings and lead remnants from her unmoving pencil on the open page of her sketchbook. I do not want to be here.
It felt silly, getting annoyed at having to attend class, but she couldnât help it. Chem lab had never been one of her favorites, and while she definitely didnât struggle with the material, the class itself always seemed to drag on for hours despite only being a fifty-five minute period. It was torturous.
âToday weâre going to be doing a lab as opposed to a new math lesson due to popular demand,â she heard her professor say at the front of the class. His comment elicited a few one syllable exclamations of joy from around the room and plenty of grateful little sounds of approval. The class was pretty math intensive so it was understandable why everyone would be so happy, but it really didnât make a difference to Hwae Ji. Besides, heâd probably make them come in over the weekend to make up for it.
âBut just know that Iâll need you all to come in on Saturday morning so that we can go over the new lesson.â Everyone immediately groaned.
Told you.
âWith that said, letâs get started on this lab. Go ahead and go to your usual stations with your usual lab partners. The ones I assigned in the beginning of this semester, not last semester.â
Hwae Ji stopped drawing and blew the eraser shavings away from her paper, using her pencil as a bookmark and closing her sketchbook. Luckily she wore her Converse that day upon chance, totally forgetting that they had a lab to do until he brought it up. She stood up and walked over to her usual lab station, third from the back, and opened up one of its drawers to retrieve a lab coat. She and her lab partner usually only talked about the assignment when they were together, so she never really learned what his name was or anything. She was pretty sure that he was older than her, though, considering the vast majority of students in her period were either Juniors or Seniors.
Reaching into the front pocket of her jeans, she fished around for her hair tie before putting her hair up in a high ponytail and looking around for her goggles.
Just a normal day for classes, Sunggyu walked down the halls, towards Chemistry his next class. He walked in sitting in his normal seat; he leaned back against his chair listening to the professorâs boring speech. Sunggyu wasnât a fond of Chemistry; at first heâd always thought it would be interesting just like his high school days.
It was probably because his teacher back then was so laid back he didnât even care what his students was doing. Now it was completely different here, he rested his head on the table and blocked anyone looking at him with his arms, not letting anyone bother him. Before he could drift off to sleep, he snapped up awake by the professor.
Looking around, Sunggyu noticed everyone has already left. He looked up to see the professor making a face he did not want to see. âUm Iâll be going to the lab now.â Sunggyu took his books and left quickly. He walked down the hall towards the lab. Thinking who his lab partner would be, then remembered it was a girl. Both rarely talked to each other, they didnât even know each otherâs names, but Sunggyu knew she was a friendly person. Sunggyu opened the door respectfully bowing to the class, due to his absence.
It wasn't Fate || Ailee & Sunggyu
Sunggyuâs response to Aileeâs answer was short and abrupt before she had asked her question, but it broke her heart to see the disappointment in his eyes. The activity of him teaching her to play had been so precious before, but now it was a distant memory. It was exactly these feelings, the guilt, that kept Ailee from reaching out to him after so long, deciding to keep the distance between them as it was. But with him sitting beside her now, she regretted it. There was no way to tell how they would have ended up, if they would have lasted, but even if they wouldnât have, she imagined it would have been something great.
She knew she had no right to feel the way she did, but she couldnât help the relief that spread through her body at the negative response to her question. But the relief was soon replaced by a sense of guilt and repulsion at herself. âGood,â she said, knowing how the single word would sound, she continued. âYou need someone perfect for you. You deserve that much.â
And maybe that had been a big part of why they hadnât worked out. Ailee was so unsure of herself, especially when it came to things like this, to being with someone. She didnât trust herself to be someone another person could rely on, to be that person who understood what the other person was going through, to be what the other person needed. She was too broken.
Sunggyu kept his eyes on the floor, hearing Aileeâs soft angel voice interrupted him. It has been a while hearing her voice. âThe world around us, will always need love. Someone to love.â Feeling the words spill out of his mouth. âBut when will that be?â Over the past years he just couldnât stop thinking about her. It was like some illusion, seeing her face in his dreams. Just unexpectedly seeing her everywhere. The situation wasnât a bother, it just calmed him down whenever seeing her face. Ailee, was someone perfect for him and will cherish in his, now stoned heart.
Love, what is the meaning of that. Does it mean to once love someone, but it never was granted. Was fate just playing with his feelings, and left him heartbroken. There are many reasons, but nothing came up to a point.Â
It wasn't Fate || Ailee & Sunggyu
Ailee licked her lower lip before sucking it in to bite on it. Once upon a time the two of them had been so comfortable with each other, just a few centimeters shy of a kiss, a few seconds short of a loving embrace, but now, standing there under his gaze that went a few seconds too long, it felt strange. All the memories of what could have been were painful now, and standing there pretending like nothing had ever happened was more than her body could handle at the moment.
So, she took a seat at the bleachers, placing the ball on the ground next to her. From there, she tried to continue her facade, as if they were just old friends catching up. At his mention of that guitar, clear visions of memories flashed in her mind, of her fingers strumming the strings of his guitar and his hands guiding hers to the correct placement and form. She finally broke her gaze and guided it to the floor.
âI havenât,â she admitted. Because it reminded me of us too much. She was chewing on her bottom lip again, a habit she had when nervous or unsure. âHow have you been, Sunggyu? Do you have a girlfriend yet?â The second question slipped out of her mouth faster than she could realize what she was asking. Eyes wide, she looked up at him again, panic written on her face. âI mean, not that itâs my place to ask butââ she paused, ââIâm curious.â And she was.
Following the girl, he sat beside her. Aileeâs reply surprised him, his eyebrows knitted together, no doubt that he was disappointed. Sunggyu did not expect this from Ailee; he actually thought she would continue playing. That shattered his heart; all of their memories are fading away, soon to be forgotten. Sunggyu also havenât been seeing Ailee smile lately ever since she walked in. it made him sad to see Ailee smile when heâs not around, it just kept breaking him. But that feeling disappeared, he did not feel for Ailee anymore, Sunggyu no longer has feelings for her. But that only lasted until now, after a while of avoiding each other for who know how long, they finally talk.
He cleared his throat looking up at the ceiling. âOh, um, I seeâ Sunggyuâs eyebrows perked up to the following question. âI actually havenât found anyone yet, no one is perfect to be mine for sure.â Not as perfect as you. But it was true, Sunggyu has kept holding up walls between him, from getting too close to other females. He canât stand that Ailee was so close to be his, now it just vanished, like a lost spirit. Sunggyu tried forgetting about those memories, but it just kept coming. He just didnât want that to happen ever again, of course he could still talk to other females, but not as close as he did to Ailee. Sunggyu just kept thinking that they were once so close, yet so far.
Is this it? â Hyuna & Sunggyu
It was a typical day, Sunggyu walked into his daily Photography club. He took out his camera readjusting the camera lens. He squinted his eyes looking through the pinhole of the camera; he wandered around the room eyeing everything. Sunggyu paused at one girl he hasnât noticed, Hyuna. He has been in this club for a while yet he hasnât notice her. She had the perfect hair, skin, eyes, but why has he not known her. Sunggyu slowly lowered his camera gawking at Hyuna, as his jaw dropped.
Sunggyu did have a thing for females who had milky white skin, he admired them, it just makes them stand out. Sometimes heâd act like a big fan, and completely fall in love with the female. But he wasnât creepy as a pedophile, oh no, he only respected them dearly. But he isnât sure if he loved the female on how she looks or her personality. He has fallen in love with another female on the same features, but only for her looks. Maybe something about Hyuna will change that, will she?
Approaching Hyuna, he smiled softly at the girl. âUm, hi Iâm Sunggyu.â His cheeks were now painted red, avoiding Hyunaâs gaze.
