dear readers,

for the past 8 years, I chronicled my thoughts, happenings and (mostly) emotional mess on this blog and many of you have been with me through it all. I cannot thank you enough for taking interest in my life and watching me grow, fall and rise, whether passively through dashboard scrolling or actively bookmarking my page when you do not even use tumblr otherwise. 

I am soon entering a new chapter in my life and want to begin journaling somewhere else, possibly from here on until the end of my time. I have hundreds of paper diaries stacked away somewhere that I wrote in since the age of 8 before I began journaling online - I don’t quite see myself ever putting a pause to writing, but I do think of my time since 2009 up until this point as a clause coming to a close.

I’ve laughed, cried and healed through writing on this blog and have made memories and friends I won’t ever forget. I am incredibly thankful for this warm, welcoming community that encouraged me to open up and am grateful for each and one of you.

isn’t it so wonderful to look back on your past writings and realize you have again outgrown them and those thoughts and feelings are now of the past? I love that I feel as if I am at a plateau yet am reminded from time to time that I am in fact still growing at full speed

if I am no longer actively angry, but am instantly filled with boiling frustration whenever I think about certain instances/people, have I truly forgiven? just because I’ve stopped constantly reminding myself about what and who used to hurt does not mean I have become more generous, loving, forgiving. I am working on this.

인디 일렉트로닉에 지난 2-3년 한참 꽃힌 나였는데 오늘 오래된 플레이리스트를 정리하며 발견한건 내가 서서히 인디 폴크와 락과 재즈를 다시 선호하게 됬다는 거. 일렉이 요즘 핫하니까 일렉에 질리게 됐네. 그래서 엄청 피곤한 날이지만 늦게까지 데미안과 베이룻과 디어헌터와 스탄겟즈를 틀어놓고 어깨춤을 추고 있는 밤이다. 멜랑콜리 나답게 삼년전 지은 이 플레이리스트 이름은 slow-ish, alone, dancing

we had a white dog that we named Seven that we only kept for maybe a month when I was in elementary school. I suddenly remembered how sweet it was when it came into my room one day when I was at my desk and curled up into a ball on my red Mini Mouse backpack and fell asleep there. and for a long time I breathed in and out slowly, scribbled my pen quietly to make sure not to wake him up. thinking back on this moment feels so gentle and innocent and precious
