This is the attack of the year, folks. I cried making this, I am just so proud.
This is for my buddy @sunlightandfreshcherries
PT card revisions and scrapped poses
Original on the left, revised pose on the right.
This revision was mainly because Rue’s dress overlapped in the middle, forcing one Rue to be in the front. The revision makes it so you could turn the card ‘upside down’ and it would still look the same.
The Mytho in the original works well enough for a rough concept, but wouldn’t have worked ‘cleaned up.’ He’s not anatomically sound. Look at that torso! He’s a long torso’d boy... It’s the only card with a hunched character too (making him stand out from the other cards. It would had created too much white space above his head after fixing his anatomy.)
The first felt semi-awkward for reasons I’m not entirely sure of. The awkwardness is mainly concentrated in the arms in the center. I think the second also creates a better shape.
I like the shape and pose of the second card much better.
Something that I haven’t mentioned yet, but a problem that all these cards share was the overlap of the characters and the card suits in the corner. As you can see here, the ‘Q’ goes over Krahe’s foot.
Ah, one of the banes of this project was capes. Capes are normally so fun, because they’re so big and flow-y, but that doesn’t work here. I need these guys to stay within the borders of the card.
Looking at this. I need to give Mytho back his sword for the revision, but otherwise, I’m quite liking the it.
Again.... capes. Aaaaaahhhhh.
Below are some poses that didn’t work for one reason or another. Not featured below, but there were a few times I would decided to scrap the pose I was working on. I would paste it in a separate folder instead of deleting it tho, and that was super helpful. I went back several times to reclaim designs I had originally passed on.
This project was actually quite for practicing fast full body poses. ^.^ Anywhoo, Thanks for viewing!
