my idea of a new tim drake comic run. based off my tweet below + holy yapfest batman

okay so it would be tim going off to college. i’m placing him back in California idc. would be nice to be in SF but not any great undergrad programs for tim. okay anyways. he drops red robin. he goes to get his education and makes a lot of new friends. enjoying the life of a civilian. but at the back of his head, the feeling of wanting to Do Something gnaws at him. bad things still happen regardless of whether or not he stays a vigilante, and maybe something bad happens to a friend of his. with a heavy heart, he picks up a new mask and a new mantle. in a new city, new rogues, new everything!!!

his identities were made for a mission. i think that’s important! following that central theme, i think it would be great if his last arc/identity is one he chooses for himself and not a mission. robin was a mission for responsibility, for duty, for gotham and batman. red robin was a mission for bruce, a sort of punishment for himself, an undying drive to prove himself. so, this last identity could be one he still chooses, but this time, for himself and for a freedom of new beginnings, not tethered by batman. also he’s a natural born detective i need DC to explore this again

also, not required but it would be nice if he was a medic-type with the whole plague doctor mask. i’d imagine he already knows a lot about first aid and medical stuff in general, and especially more after he lost his spleen. tim is also like spider-man to me so it would be nice if he was the sole protector of san francisco or wherever he’s situated for college. i would kill to see a run like this 🙇

Hi, I've gathered a list of common tropes in Tim Fics and then I'm gonna link to other posts that have a bunch of fics of that nature. Honestly doing this for my reference, so might as well let other people see it lol

Tim Travel

in which a post/during Red Robin, Tim, gets transported to a different dimension. Typically involves a happy loving batfam taking him in

Tim Joins The Batfam Early

In which Tim is a sad, lonely child, who typically bat-watches every night. Then finds his way to the Wayne’s

Tim Joins The Batfam Late

same gist as before, this usually involves Jason not dying, or just Tim for some reason not finding his way into Robin, so now someone (typically Red Hood) finds him and brings him into the fold.

Second Tim-around

In which Tim somehow ends up as himself in the past and decides to improve some things, which most of the time means he’s not part of the Batfam and they inevitably drag him back

The Bats Find Out/Tim Fix-it

This is really just all fics that involve Tim repairing relationships with the bats or them finding out fucked up shit that Tim has done or has happened to him

Tim and Damian

I separated this from fix-its because there's enough to make it its own category and also I like it. Very simple, Tim and Damian bond and learn to love each other. These are typically pretty short but really sweet!

TimKon/Young Justice

Fics that are focused outside the bats. That's pretty much it. Some of them are just TimKon, but inevitably have the others at least mentioned.

In-Universe AU

This sounds counter intuitive. Basically any fics where they change one major event, or add a relationship, or some shit. This will also include any Reverse Robin AU's because there aren't enough Tim-centric ones to make its own category.

TIM JUST GOT SHOT IN THE NECK, HE WAS THIS CLOSE TO DEATH, AND LIKE A WEEK LATER HE'S BACK OUT ON THE STREET AGAIN and even Bruce is like, "Dude. Come on now." And Timothy Drake's response? I DON'T EVEN WEAR A BAT." like the Robin costume hasn't been synonymous with the Bat logo since forever. He is FULLY telling Bruce to go fuck himself and he does NOT care about using reasonable, logical arguments. Never let ANYONE tell you that Tim Drake has ever had a single hinge in his life or that he's not a horrible, horrible little gremlin man who is the best ever. No one had better even DARE to try to say he is anything less than completely horrible to Bruce, who absolutely deserves it, but also we should feel sorry for him for having to deal with Timothy "In A Mood And Taking No Prisoners Today" Drake.
