Jonas and Hanna are the only Eva/Jonas pair that I wanted to get together at the end of the show, but tbh, it was really because of Jonas. Hanna not only wasnāt a very good girlfriend to Jonas, but she also mistreated Stefan, a perfectly nice adult who didnāt deserve to be led on by a recent high school graduate who wanted someone else.Ā
One of my favorite parts about Jonas is how Alex Lindh watched Skam and noticed that Skam focused on Evaās feelings after Jonas starts dating someone else. Alex Lindh said, I love what Skam does, but sometimes it centers on girlsā feelings at the cost of guysā feelings. So he centered Jonasā feelings in the narrative, a brave decision not many male writers wouldāve chosen. I think it is very feminist of him to say that boys can be affected by girls breaking up with them, and we could focus on how boys can be hot messes after a break up, for a change.Ā
Jonas clearly cares for Hanna a lot. Itās really sad that Hanna didnāt care about him the same way. While she did approach him because she was worried about his grades, as her ex, she could and shouldāve done more. Itās not surprising to me that in s3 Jonas starts hooking up with other girls.Ā
But, donāt get him or me wrong, Jonas isnāt a fuckboy! So, after he has a few meaningless hook up with girls who canāt keep up with him intellectually, he realizes he misses relationship sex. And he still loves Hanna, and I love Hanna and Jonas together because they were so perfect in s1, so I really wanted them to get back together at this point.Ā
Jonas also wrote Hanna a song! Heās a bit of an Even if you think about it, because the Evens also do artistic things for their Isaks. I actually wouldnāt have minded Jonas/Matteo either, theyāre such a great ship. I would talk about Jonas as the actual German Even, but I donāt want to go into many tangents.
The writing for s4 was the best for Jonas/Hanna. They really showed how Jonas was trying to get over Hanna and let her move on with her life, but Hanna just really wanted Jonas in her life! Sheād keep texting him and tagging him in stories and asking him if he wanted to hang out with her and her bf. How can Jonas forget about her when sheās like that? He couldnāt, because theyāre meant to be!
I also think it was really special how Jonas is the only person Hanna wanted to hang out with in the anniversary of her motherās death. It really shows that thereās nothing about Hannaās character that isnāt about Jonas somehow.Ā
In short, Jonas is the person who brings meaning to Hannaās life, his opinions and mood should be a priority for Hanna, and I love that Hanna remembered all this before the show was over. šš„°š I was really worried that sheād forget after the last episode of her season ngl!
