Me and my guilty pleasure stupid soap opera that is painful to watch because it's inaccurate both in costume and dialogue and yet has not enough satire in it to ignore it. Forever and ever

It's such a pleasure to know The Vampire Lestat is not afraid of being as weird as the books were. In the age of sanitised media and young people going neo-puritan, it's truly refreshing.
It's also hella funny.
Ok touching the hair is crazy
God bless Livrustkammaren and their archive
I do however wonder if it's weird for royal family to have their ancestors' (and partially their own) belongings to be displayed like that
really really awesome image
WAIT i went back to actually read the article. fifteen more frog hands
Me: okay, this time it's AU so alternative I won't make a reference to the original
Also me: ... unless it's Wilhelm waiting months to hear the "I love you" in return. That thing stays
As someone who's written numerous "they will find each other in every universe" fics...
Yeah I am a type of person to like that idea.
Sunday snippet
To remind myself I want to share this story with others
“Here, let me help you,” Simon reached out to take the cup and put the lid on himself. The guy did not remove his hand yet, so their hands touched. Just a brush of fingers, nothing special.
Except there was something.
It felt like a spark ran between them. Not metaphorical, a real one. Simon yanked his hand away before he could even think about it.
“Are you alright?” The guy asked, frowning in concern. Whatever it was, seems like he did not feel it.
“Sorry, must've been the static,” Simon said as he looked down at his hand. It felt way more intense than a simple static. Never in his life Simon had touched bare wires, but he was sure this is how it felt.
The guy nodded. “Those modern synthetic fabrics are terrible,” he said, revealing himself as a real old man — even if not by age, but the mindset.
This week the gods were kind (we got Edvin in fabulous suits TWICE)
Dont unfollow me I can post about something you care even less about wait

According to google the closest phrase to what I want to say... is from the Bible. Which wouldn't be a big problem... if I was writing for the universe where it does exist

I love < Tu Dois Te Marier > much more in 2001 retj version than 2010 😭 despite 2010 is still me favourite
To me 2010 version feels out of place and too... commentary?
It also completely changes Lady Capulet's character for me, which is perhaps good, since they kinda changed Count as well (or tried to), I just don't like the trajectory they took it.
In the original, we see a content rich middle aged lady. She is somewhat cynical about her relationship with the Count, but she also kinda... fond of him? I always read their relationship in this version as she is the assertive one, and perhaps that cynicism is the root. The Nurse teases her about having lovers, but Lady denies it—though we still see her flirt with younger men in other sequences. She feels a lot like those early 2000s attempts to show a feminist character—confident, rich, talking about how you can "win" without changing the status quo.
In Tu Dois Te Marier they, along with The Nurse, talk about marriage as something inevitable but enjoyable. "La vie est trop belle /Pour que tu fasses ta route / Sans passer par l'autel". There's no doom in the way they talk about it. And it explains why Juliet is so eager to fall in love, because Un Jour follows right after and as she wasn't told men are evil and women are doomed to be unhappy a minute ago, it makes total sense she wants love and believes she can have love to her marriage.
While the 2010 version is... the complete opposite. Lady Capulet is seemingly younger (as she should ig) and miserable. The whole song is about her being unhappy. To me it screams "we wanted to jump on the train of these dramatic modern interpretations of old customs" and if this mindset in media has no haters I'm dead. It also doesn't fit this part of the play imo, it's too tragically intense for the beginning of the story, but as we know from having Tybalt not much longer after that, they had a thing for that unfortunate pacing in this version.
How are we to believe that right after that Juliet is immediately "oh I can't wait to meet my love I'm sure it'll go well" after hearing "Les hommes sont des barbares / Qui nous veulent à genoux". Not a brightest star she is for that, I'm sorry.
The tragedy of wanting to listen to Maniaque on repeat but there's no studio record of the version they show in the play WHO THE FUCK EVEN DOES THAT
i dont "go on walks," i dont "use character sheets" and i dont "plot before writing," i raw dog it, and if it doesnt flow, I FUCKING CRY.
