Cambridge professor of sociology Jason Arday is accused of plagiarism by another academic
the accuser is a "race realist" who believes that in a true meritocracy all university professors would be white. this is somehow not acknowledged much during the entire ordeal
this leads to several days of media coverage demanding an investigation, or that Arday is expelled from his post immediately
somehow this accusation that has no effect on the lives of 99.99% of the population becomes FRONT PAGE NEWS in all the newspapers for multiple days, above anything else happening in the UK or the world at large
following intense media scrutiny, Arday resigns his post as a Cambridge professor
today, august 14th, days after resigning, Arday is found dead at his home in Battersea
the British tabloid press remains, and will always be, fucking evil
Went to google more news about professor Jason Arday, and I swear to God the first two pages of research are rancid propaganda sites smearing the man's reputation, up to and including popular Brazilian news magazine Veja.
This article by professor Kehinde Andrews clarifies more about the story of racist harassment Arday has been suffering since he fucking got a teaching job at Cambridge in the first place, in 2023, as the FIRST Black professor in that fucking stupid institution, who sure is taking it's sweet time defending their worker, despite already fucking checking his work for plagiarism and saying he didn't do it:

Several of the academics who harassed this man into suicide do not seem to have suffered at all in their academic careers. Actually, Dave Harris, who lost his Emeritus title for his racist behavior back in 2024 (something the news only call "criticizing Critical Race Theory", instead of "sent racist emails to fellow black academics"), was defended by Plymouth University, where he used to work, and fucking got the title back earlier this year.
A couple things about the above.
1. He wasn’t the first Black Professor at Cambridge, but he WAS the youngest X
2. He was ALSO autistic, and nonverbal for the first 11 years of his life X
The rest of the story unfolds pretty much as described. And he was a fucking Sociologist studying racial equity in schools and academia. They publicly bullied a black autistic man to suicide for being imperfect whilst asserting a place for blackness in academia.

Do european know that their countries used US settler colonialism to prevent revolution
It sounds crazy but it's true.
With the Industrial Revolution, a lot of peasants in Europe were rapidly moving into cities. And there was a massive population boom,changing borders, formation of nationhood, that challenged everyone including smaller ethnic communities that were having a hard time being assimilated into these new ideas of the nation.
This was going to cause and was causing in many areas, civil unrest. a solution to that was sending the problem to america and america used these peasants to settle the united states.
To the many menonites who are encouraged to settle in the kansas/ nebraska territory, and eventually, as far north is minnesota. to the swedish norwegian and danish peasants who were facing famin and industrialization They found themselves in the dakotas and minnesota.
My grandfather's family, catholic germans, who had been previously living under bavarian rule, found the unrest and formation of the newly emerging german states a threat so they fled to illinois.
During the formation of the italian state, many southern "italians" ended up in the united states, which is why the dialect remnants spoken in america do not sound like modern italian because their communities predate them.
From the danish towns in california to texas german, when political unrest hits europe, the solution has been the american colony, and it means that europe has directly benefited from having a place to put the unwanted.
The newest examples are in the midwest where descendants of nazis, who left after the war moved into midwest towns, where people already spoke german.
We are also seeing it after the end of the cold war, where many eastern europeans settled in midwestern towns that already had large diasporas from their countries.
the reality is america is a settle colony but where do the colonist come from? where do the settlers choose to move to. time and time, again, they moved communities of settlers that are already here. They moved chicago so they can keep speaking polish, They moved to detroit and new york so they can keep speaking russian.
I'm tired of white Europeans acting like when the settlers hit the United States they cut off their relationships and stop talking to people at home. But the reality is politics of Europe. shapes who settles and where they settle. And where they continue to settle the colonization of america in the modern form of european immigration to the US is still alive and present and still absorbs contemporary political situations in europe

- now while this might no longer be the case, when I was growing up, I went to a French school (as in. It was an international French School w the French flag n all) and the way we were taught French geography was that France has the biggest and largest access to the sea in the world. And they'd show us a map of France and its colonies around the world. It's all occupied indigenous lands. I don't know if they still teach that. I hope not. But they absolutely did until I graduated high school in 2017. Again, I write this on July 21st 2026, for the record.
