aroace culture is being both flattered and disgusted when someone has a crush on you
.
Aroace culture is postponing watching films you know have romantic subplots or a romantic focus or explicit sex cause you are not in the mood to feel like living life fully means being Allo and everything else is lesser somehow.
.
aroace culture is having a lot more words to describe specific types of attraction and relationships compared to a lot of allo people who might not know about it, and being able to help others sometimes with their own feelings because of it
.
aroace culture is understanding why the phrase "love is blinding" exists because yeah, people in love really do be blind in many ways sometimes and I'm glad that's not me lol
.
The tags are everything I know. I am sharing this with every single one to try and spread the word.
NOT MY USUAL JAM, BUT THERE’S AN AWFUL LOT OF YOU CRITTERS FOLLOWING ME THAT SHOULD KNOW THIS
Stay safe out there guys
Aroace culture is getting my autism assessment and when being asked if I'd ever want a relationship/kids in the future I just vaguely go "....uh yeah yeah I've Thought About It A Lot and I think I'd be open to it but I'd Prefer Friendship™"
.
little hearts between past dnp <3
Aroace culture is when ever a big hetero kissing scene shows up in a show or movie, laughing and turning away because it makes you uncomfortable, and constantly being filled with second hand embarrassment every time on screen romance happens. And only barely able to see queer kissing scenes before turning away
.
I don't mean to alarm you, but we are 2 short years away from having legal adults who were born in the 2010s.
big love <3
If youre a closeted person somewhere out there thinking "I want to transition but it would be less progressive/unique/countercultural for me to be that gender instead of this one" please know that you are a real person not a character in a narrative and cant live your life based on what is good media representation. You are real you can only be yourself and theres no moral weight to any identity over another
Aroace culture is when you are just being really friendly and it comes off as flirting. I hate it when that happens because no I’m not flirting I am just being nice.
.
all the rights that come with marriage you should be able to have without marriage btw. you should be able to designate a person who can visit you in the hospital regardless of your relationship to that person.
you should be able to designate multiple people
just as a reminder to all, the real Quileute tribe was not consulted whatsoever on the twilight series and had a lot of their culture just fully lied about & made up, which is not a remotely harmless act. you should donate to fund their cultural preservation and moving of vital centers out of tsunami zones! i try to throw in a few bucks any time i watch any twilight related media.
further reading: i am by no means an expert on this topic but lets all learn something real together today!

truth vs twilight (archived site made in response to the series)
as of 2018 there are only 808 members of the tribe. twilight is the single biggest spotlight theyve gotten and all it did was "lol these native people are like, a kind of magic animal. not even really human. lets use their name and never give them a single cent of this multimillion dollar franchise"
Have you ever heard of "all or nothing"?

"Why do you talk so much about being intersex?"
Over 90% of parents of visibly intersex children opt for cosmetic surgery on their infants.
The ones that don't experience medical violence then, likely experience it as a teenager.
I didn't.
I am very rare in that I did not experience medical violence.
Why? Because I learned what intersexuality was as a young age, and I actively fought against what doctors wanted to do to me. All the way down to legal research on what medical care minors can be forced into. I remember walking into that doctor's appointment with the state law written down that proved that if I did not consent they could not do surgery.
That is why intersex activism is important. It saved me and it will save more.
#INTERSEX TALK MORE NOW AND PLEASE LISTEN
"Not dating or having sex isn't even a source of discrimination in real life-" How many rights and benefits are tied up in marriage contracts though? How much of our economic and societal structure is built with the clear expectation that people couple up and support each other? Where's the security nets and affordable options for people who will never have a partner/spouse to take care of them? How many people save serious commitment only for people they have a romantic and sexual relationship with? How many people will unquestionably prioritize their sexual and romantic relationship above all other social connections in their lives? And where does that leave the people who don't want that at all, ever?
