I'm sooo self conscious in fandom places, I find it v hard to enjoy myself fr. Even interacting w others or making posts of my own, I lose abt 10 HP every time. This is basically mental exercise for me

The Watergirl WIP has an unofficial title, but the universe I call Attagirl! Bc Watergirl. Watahgirl. Attagirl. I'm stupid.

So rn in the Attaverse, I'm at the stage where I'm exploring the journey of Herm's egg cracking ad befriend the Z-teamers... all from the Z-team's (+ Rob and Mandy) perspective. I'm currently stuck on Courtney's chapter. It's fighting me every step of the way. It's partly me trying to find Courtney's voice and figure out the dynamic between these two. In canon we see WB and Visi talk a few times but we don't hear what they talk abt, and it makes me sooo curious! What tf do these two have in common??

I've seen fics where they're depicted to dislike each other even, w more obvious animosity from WB bc her humor rubs him the wrong way. I see that happening but damn, whats going on in the canon chats they have? I wish the writers would tell us. If they actually put some thought into it. Visi is one of the most abrasive members of the team so it's hrd to imagine her getting along w WB unless she goes easier on him for some reason, and she hasnt exactly been portrayed as the tactful type...

I'm taking the liberty to have her poke fun at his sensibilities but take it easy on him bc he's Good and she isnt. Does she lowkey have an inferiority complex abt it? Absolutely. Does she take it out on him? Less now. Not a no, but it's getting better esp bc my Courtney is on a redemption arc. (No Romance route, bc I've decided Robert knows better than to start dating within a month of joining a new workplace. Shit's risky!)

For now I'm going down the awkward siblings route for these two, where they want to get along but don't always know how to go abt it since they're sooo different and also lowkey get on each others nerve. (Visi thinks hes too soft and a goody two shoes, and WB thinks she gets away w being rude too much.) I'm trying to convincingly portray the exact moment where they go from "oh... hey" to "oh hey c:" if that makes any sense

I think I got one more Dispatch fic in me before my drive dies off. I want it to be the Watergirl one but the odds of that are...unlikely.

I got a lot more chance to put out the fic that focuses on Herm's powers being disabling. I love when that angle is explored bc, like, yeah! All that uncontrollable water input must fkg suck! It must be annoying and inconvenient and frustrating on the daily. I looove when ppl lean into this, rather than lurch in the other direction and make him control his powers or go dry.

I don't hate it, mind! I will totally read those stories bc the concept of a dry, curly-haired Herman who gets to do everything that ppl do w/o worrying abt getting things wet? Uhhh gimme that!! Yum!!! But I just feel like it's such an underexplored - or more like overlooked aspect of canon.

To me, it goes hand in hand w Robert being in top shape. That guy got blown up twice within at least a couple months. You're telling me the suit is unsalvageable but he's fine? Not even a limp? Don't make me laugh. He should have lost a leg or smth. Had a bionic prosthetic limb. Missed opportunity! He's fkg Mecha Man, ain't he??? So go ahead and make the damn man mecha!!!! In season 2, idc whether they make Robert officially bi or not (yeah yeah the blowing line - what if he's just a straight ally???) I want them to make that man blow up one more time and actually make it count. #DisableThatDude. They should do it...for me.
