Born to be a poet. Forced to be a soldier. Refused to be a king.
This is war. A war we've never even thought we'd face. We are Robin, and we face it together.
Gotham outlawed Robin. Superman outlawed Gotham. There is nowhere to go but up. Up where he reigns. He is a false god, masquerading as a savior.
Batman won't save us. The imposter Robin betrayed us. We must carry on the name. Carry on the hope our world needs.
I am Duke Thomas, and I am Robin. I am not your king, nor is anyone else. We are Robin and we will be free again.

Hello! If you haven't guessed already, it's me @theguybehindthechair with more Duke content. This is my Earth 50 [the Justice Lord earth] version of Duke, and I'll tell you about it in just a sec.
the directory, as made by my GOAT Em
And my own lore, as well as a couple blog notes, is as follows:
The events that caused the Lords to take over occurred roughly mid-Robin War (the origins for Robin War are likely different than in canon). This means that we are in the height of the WaR movement, and they are ready for what the world sends.
They act as a rumor mill of sorts, sharing where the Lords are and teaching one another how to avoid detection. They learned what they know via the minimal training by the Bats and through watching how Nightwing and others travel.
My Duke, being the son of Gnomon, isn't immortal but also isn't mortal. He is incredibly hard to kill.
The Robins work to free each other from the bogus jailing, and to find a way to escape the police state they're trapped in.
My Duke is roughly 15, and, despite being young, is regarded as the primary leader of the rebellion.
He's also bisexual and transmasc.
Shipping wise: there's a lot going on in his universe so he doesn't have the most time for romance. however, if it fits, I'd prefer to write it with A) a fellow minor (over 16) or B) An adult I know well and is close to me in age. I won't write romance with strangers. I also won't write or interact with batcest or pedophilia.
Duke has not officially met Batman. He has, however, met Nightwing/Dick Grayson.
He is heavily ACAB, due to many many reasons
That's all for now! Please ask if you have any questions 😁😁
This post seeks to educate and guide those with Justice Lords roleplay blogs are prospective new community members. There is no intention of gatekeeping characters. The goal is to help folks stay informed, connected, and attract more people into the AU. Please note that so far we've been sticking to the two episodes from Justice League (2003) S2 EP12 & 13, but do what bring you joy!
This is a repost cuz the other one was being blocked and such.

Lore
The Justice Lords are an alternate version of the Justice League from Earth-50, a world where the line between justice and control has long since been erased. They began as heroes, but everything changed after Lex Luthor became President of the United States, murdered the Flash, and pushed the world toward the brink of nuclear war. In response, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman stormed the White House to stop him. When Luthor told Superman that prison had never been enough and never would be, Superman killed him with his heat vision. And from that moment on, everything shifted.
In the aftermath, the League lost faith in humanity’s ability to govern itself. Over the next two years, they seized control of the world’s governments and remade society under their rule. Crime was “ended,” not through rehabilitation or due process, but through fear, surveillance, and brutal enforcement. Free speech was suppressed. Elections were limited and rigged. Criminals and supervillains were permanently neutralized through l0b0tomiz@tion by Lord Superman’s heat vision. The Justice Lords justify all of it as necessary, temporary, and for the good of the people, but their world is one built on authoritarianism, not hope.
Their headquarters remain the Watchtower, but in this universe, it functions less as a symbol of protection and more as the eye of a global regime. The Lords monitor the planet from above, intervening wherever they see fit, no longer as guardians who serve the public, but as rulers who have decided they know what is best. Even their personal lives reflect this corruption; Lord Superman’s control extends so far that even Lois Lane lives under severe restrictions, forbidden from making calls, receiving unauthorized guests, or leaving home freely.
The core members of the Justice Lords are Lord Superman, Lord Batman, Lord Wonder Woman, Lord Martian Manhunter, Lord Green Lantern, and Lord Hawkgirl. Flash is absent from the team because his death is the event that helped create this world in the first place. While all of them have compromised themselves in different ways, Lord Batman stands apart somewhat in that he is portrayed as more morally conflicted than the others. He participates, enables, and benefits from the regime, but unlike the rest, he still shows signs of unease. This becomes important when he is forced to confront what they have truly become.
What makes the Justice Lords so compelling is that they are not simply “evil versions” of the League. They are a warning. They are what happens when heroes decide that safety matters more than freedom, that order matters more than mercy, and that power gives them the right to choose for everyone else. Their world is peaceful on the surface, but only because dissent has been crushed out of it. The Justice Lords are not chaos. They are tyranny wearing the face of justice.
It was a long day, week, year. Life itself was feeling long, despite how short it's really been. Duke wasn't really sure what he was doing anymore. Why'd they trust him, of all people, to lead so many? He's just a kid.
He expected so much more, so much better, in his life. He expected to go to college, for his mom and dad to see him grow up.
He didn't even get to see them buried. The remaining victims of Joker's toxin, after the fall of the heroes, were burned. He wasn't even told. They weren't even dead. "Precautions," they told him. He didn't get to say goodbye.
He loved his mom. He was her little bird, her sunshine. All he feels now is the darkness. It crawls up along his skin, like a parasite searching for a way under. It's cold and yet it burns deep.
Life was becoming darkness to Duke. It was dimming each and every day. There is so little left now. It's an act, it really is. The bravery, the courage. It's all to hide, because hiding is the one thing he knows now. It's all he can do.
He hides from Superman. He hides from Gotham. He hides from his friends, from himself. The real, unabashed version of Duke is lost. Lost to the void of pain and suffering. There is nothing left.
Except hope. He still has some, just a shred. That lone sparkle in his eye. The remainder of a promise he made, to his mom. The world is his oyster, and he won't let anyone take it from him.
That's why he's still here. He is the hope, the sunshine for the movement. He is the light in the darkness, no matter how hard it gets. Pain holds nothing to the light of hope. It burns right through, even just the smallest spark. That's all he needs.
You used to have morals. A code. You were a symbol of hope. Now? Now you're just as bad as the people you hunt. Perhaps worse. You soured your own legacy beyond repair.
I still have morals unlike popular belief... Though no one listens to that. All of you rather harp on the same thing..
Boo hoo I "ruined it" I made it better.. I was letting horrible people run around why? Because I thought they could get better.. they didn't. How they are is better for everyone now.
Betraying the basic human rights of the world doesn't seem very moral. You, and that alien you rule with, aren't worth the respect you used to have. You aren't the people you were before, and you'll never be them again.
I understand with the Joker, sure. I have my own issues with the guy. But the rest? Jaywalkers and petty thieves? They haven't done anything worth the punishment you deal them.

Lord Batman has no morals. He wouldn't keep us around anymore than Superman would. Grayson. The original Robin. He's Nightwing, yeah? Wanna guess who trained most of us? We have a few.. tricks up our sleeves, even without years of stealth training.
The Sun is disappointed in you, in all of you Lords. You are not our gods and you will not rule us.
