August 31st. Wednesday.
Just left the familia, we're driving to Austin for our flight to Spain tomorrow. Feeling uneasy. As if the immensity of the situation hasn't hit me yet. Going to another country. For the next four months. My mind is having a hard time understanding how long that is.
The Calm before the storm. Well the storm before the cloud. It was around this were so ready to get back home. The storm was an amalgamation of us in the moment. Not in a bad way. Just a miss home kind of way.
DENVER! OH HOW WE’VE MISSED YOU. Rain hits us for the first time, surprisingly. I gotta say, despite your crazy drivers and sky high housing prices, you’ve created lasting memories.
An ode to clouds. Fluffy. Harmless. and the Dark and Foreboding Ones.
Coffee. Ice Cream. Koi. Coffee.
Leaving Helena, headed our way to Denver! #Southbound
Music provided by Larry Elgart “hooked on swing dancing”
Smooth hills. they beg to be pet. Washington welcomes us with a restaurant apparantly. We make it through there and into Idaho and finally Montana
Actually on our way to Helena. About a 8 hour drive. So yeah. Bound to have seen a lot of sights. I could stare for hours the way the blue fades over the distance.
Oh how we’ll miss you ol’ gal.
A foodies dream. Delicately placed sushi plate.
Fried pork ears.
Kimchi meat sandwich. Sumer seasoned waffles.
Another night in the splended hotel. Gotta say, having a balcony view is top notch.

Chilling here at the 2016 Adult Soapbox Derby! Ranging from the giant Steampunk R2-D2′s to replica mario karts, It’s seriously a blast.
Street art. Not sure how people even do such large murals like that.
That’s the Crystal Hotel, mid-portland. The company that owns them renovated
“Located just across the street from the legendary Crystal Ballroom, the Crystal Hotel has 51 comfortable guestrooms; each inspired by a song or performance from the Crystal Ballroom's past 100 years.
Just across the street reigns the legendary Crystal Ballroom music venue, which opened in 1914. Since then, the Crystal stage has been graced by the likes of Rudolph Valentino, the Grateful Dead, Sleater-Kinney, Tito Puente and many others.
When it comes to Portland, Oregon hotels, the Crystal Hotel, well, rocks.”
