I don’t know when it counts for real, but Shiloh can sit unassisted for several seconds now! I’m thinking when they can do it for a full minute that I’ll count it, which probably will happen pretty soon! They still don’t crawl or seem to have any interest in trying to crawl, but they do try to scoot on their belly a bit, mostly going backwards even though they’re actually trying to move forward. They also easily roll both ways now. 😊

Shiloh started rolling from back to belly on the 4th, but they can’t roll back over so they get upset. Hopefully they figure it out soon!

Apparently I can’t make my primary blog password protected (wtf Tumblr) so I don’t know what I’m going to do yet. I’m likely done posting updates, but it’s hard to make the choice to delete the whole thing when I have so many years of posts on it. I’m so frustrated right now.

I will likely be making this blog private soon. I don’t use it the way I did when my first kid was little, and it’s just not the same anymore. I also feel like I’ve become more of a private person so having a public blog of my family on a website that’s covered in inappropriate content is a bit uncomfortable.

There’s a lot of misinformation going around about the Covid-19 vaccines, so now is a good time to bring this back.

Quick science note: of the Covid vaccines currently approved/pending that I’ve seen, none contain live or weakened viruses. 

There’s not a whole virus in this particular vaccine; it’s just a little strip of genetic code that cues your body to make one of the identifying proteins of the COVID-19 virus. Your body uses up all these instructions, produces some marker proteins, realizes these proteins are foreign, and produces immunity against them. So whenever a virus that has this spike protein invades, your body already recognizes it and has a defense prepared.

Just feeding Shiloh real food once a day has surprisingly decreased Shiloh’s milk intake. I’m a little concerned because I know breast milk is still supposed to be their main source of nutrition, but as long as they keep gaining and growing, it’s probably fine. They have their 6 month checkup on the 28th so I’m looking forward to that.

I lied about Shiloh napping consistently lmao. They do nap consistently in the mornings for at least 45 minutes, but absolutely not consistent at all in the afternoons. They’ve only napped in the afternoon once this week. I’ve given up on trying. On the bright side of things, they no longer poop at night so they’re sleeping through the night again, yay! They also haven’t pooped in two days thanks to starting solids. They seem fine so hopefully they’ll poop soon! So far they’ve eaten: baby oatmeal, avocado, green beans, hard boiled egg, cheese omelet, peas, and refried beans.

I think my postpartum hair loss is finally done! Now I’m losing a normal amount of hair in the shower lol. I hope all the hair I lost grows back quickly.
