Name Theory in My Little Pony; Friendship is Magic
Ive been thinking about this since I started taking Astronomy in college.
As we know, in MLP, names have power. Names can relate to who you are as a Pony, your talent, your identity. Names are apart of your destiny.
But something ive noticed specifically- is that all the most powerful magic users of Equestria have Celestial Names, like;
Honorable Mention; Trixie Lulamoon
All of these ponies have shown to have great Magic power. Even more so than the Fourth Princess, Mi Amore Candenza, aka Candance, Princess of Love. Shining Armor's sister is a princess yet doesn't even come close. Why? Name theory.
But, this also goes with another theory-
Celestia intended Sunset Shimmer to be the Princess of Friendship first
Why? Because Celestia knew the Princess of Friendship had to be a perfect balance between herself and her sister, Luna. She believed Sunset would fit that- but Sunset Shimmer is too much one way- she is the sun, burning bright. She is the fire to Celestia's light.
But Twilight? Twilight is the perfect balance of Sun and Moon, the in between. She is both of them yet never fully one or the other.
But Sunset Shimmer is still needed, she is still a balance of the scales. But where does she fit?
Equestria Girls. In that world, Twilight doesn't fit there. Twilight isn't the Twi we know in the main series. Sunset Shimmer becomes the balance for another universe entirely.
