Neptune wasn’t entirely surprised by Sun’s response. He found it kind of nice that he found someone else like him. Setting the book to his side Neptune ruffled Sun’s hair, trying to get him to look back. “Spending a lot of time with her huh?”

Sun gave a guilty little glance up at him, although he did grin when Neptune ruffled his hair. "Not a lot of time, like... you know, just talking." It was't like Blake had any time for anything past investigating, anyway. "Mission stuff, whatever."

So Sun had been a little distracted and was a tad late - hopefully Neptune wouldn’t mind. It wasn’t too long, at least. It wasn’t like he’d made Neptune wait that long, after all, and he was probably used to his slight tardiness by now.

However, it wasn’t like Sun to go in with anything less than 100% enthusiasm, so when he approached Neptune he almost pounced on him, flinging an arm around his shoulders as he sat down next to him. “Whatcha readin’?” he asked, head cocked as he peered over Neptune’s shoulder.

Neptune felt the weight of Sun, as his body shifted slightly to the side. Still with a tight grip on his book, he merely glanced at Sun from the corner of his eye. “Just a tale about the struggles of two characters.” His vague response was one he learned to give often. Since most, if not all the books he read were same.

Closing the book he turned to Sun, looking him dead in the eyes. “So what kept you?” A question he didn’t really need to ask considering the fact that he’d probably already known.

Sun huffed, unimpressed by Neptune's answer. "That's lame," he commented, settling in next to him. He rested his cheek on his shoulder, comfortable even though he'd much rather be doing something else. Cuddling was good, but while Neptune was reading? That was way more boring. He didn't have all of his attention.

His tail flicked at Neptune's question, and he glanced away. "Saw Blake and we got talking, no big deal." Speaking to a fellow faunus tended to quiet the slight nervous thrum he felt all the time - that, and being close to Neptune.

A new book in hand and eyes glued to it, Neptune read through the pages as if they were only filled with pictures. People around him were blocked out, despite the seconds he’d take to glance up. Eyeing the crowds looking for anything that has enough beauty to catch his attention.

He’d been waiting for Sun, but enjoyed the time to himself. Even if it was a little moment. “Hope he’s not late” he mutter under his breath.

I'm going to say one thing about Sun's Semblance:

It’s not useless. 

As far as I can tell, it’s actually pretty damn clever, and the fact that he has enough Aura/control over his Aura to do it is incredible.

I think that his Semblance is strategic. And definitely not independant.

He has to stop whatever he’s doing to concentrate enough to conjure them and stay still, which hints off that he IS controlling what they do (and controlling two bodies at once while keeping balance seems like hard shit, not to mention when the two bodies are made from residue of your SOUL).

Also, notice how he was taking a different approach than the other two when he went to get Neptune. Only one of the projections I think actually used the staff, the other attacked with it in nunchuck form, and then when Sun went to do it he jumped at a different angle and used the staff. 

tl;dr , he doesn’t use the projections to take  hits, he uses them to plan hits. He tests out which route is the best to take using them so that he can get it right when he does it. It’s fucking brilliant and takes a ton of Aura and concentration.

Imagine Neptune casually zoning out just staring into space, but it turns out he inadvertently zoned out staring at Sun’s abs and Sun notices and teases him like, “Dude, my eyes are up here” and Neptune ends up getting slightly flustered like, “Will you learn to wear a fucking shirt already?”
