“I’m so glad you’re okay.” she squeezed, refusing to let go any time soon. “So much has happened and I have so much to tell you and everything is crazy and I don’t want to do anything but hug you right now.”

He was prepared to wait patiently until the young man saw something he liked or had any more questions, but it seemed the chiseled bachelor had something else on his mind that Tukson was not prepared for. He swallowed, shrugging. 

“I, um, can’t say why. I might have seen you pass this street once or twice, but…” He had to admit he was a little nervous. Surely this kid wasn’t with them? Or had been long enough to know him? Then again, it seemed like they were getting anyone these days..

Sun tilts his head, narrowing his eyes as he tried to place Tukson’s face. He’s pretty sure if he can’t place him by name (especially if his name was on the front of the store) he probably hasn’t met him before. But he can’t for the life of him shake the yellow eyes, the dark hair, and something just distinctly familiar about his face. He averts his face when he feels he can no longer stare without being rude.

“Must just be my imagination.” he murmurs.

Well, that was... enough to put him on edge. The kid had seemed so sure he knew him, and even now it was like he had only stopped staring out of politeness. He wondered where he could possibly know him from.

“I don’t think I ever got your name.”

I mean, he just likes to acknowledge when people are attractive. Especially if he’s gonna end up basically adopting them and meeting any partner they bring to the shop I mean c’mon now. He remembers his lady-having days.

The man gestured vaguely to the display in the window. “There right behind ya. I can make some suggestions if you haven’t read the series before.” He stepped out from his place behind the counter, showing that his size was no illusion; he was just a burly man. 

“Oh, I’m Tukson. Hence Tukson’s Book Trade.”

“Oh. Nice to meet you, Tukson.” Sun answered sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head and turning around to find the pile he’d been directed to. The comic books are neatly piled, but a bit faded from being in the window’s sunlight. He picks up one, flipping pages absentmindedly. Most are nice and altruistic, the kind of thing he imagines Ruby would like if she walked in here. Something strikes him though, and he looks away and back towards the man still hovering at the counter.

“You look familiar.”

Music? He lightly frowned. Way back in the day, he had a collection of records, but he doubted that he would be able to find them now, or that they’d be of any interest to this particular boy.

“Um…No, I’m afraid I don’t. I, um… I do have comics, though.” Every kid liked a good comic, right?

“Oh, uh, that’s too bad. Sure, I’ll take a look at the comics. Where are they?” Sun asked, nervously bouncing on the balls of his feet. Was he supposed to just take a look and then pay or something? Would he be allowed to sit around and read? He doubted it. It wasn’t a public library, so he’d have to have money eventually….which he didn’t have.

“Uh, your name is?”

Tukson’s Book Trade had no ambient music because the owner– none other than Tukson himself– was almost always humming or whistling a tune, rendering music unnecessary. He’d only began his tune as he was rearranging something under the counter, but stopped it promptly upon spotting a customer.

“Oh! Hello there. How can I help you, young man?”

“Uhh–”

Think of something, think of something fast! He didn’t even know what book he wanted to read. What kind of books did he even like? Damn, he really ought to have thought of these things before walking into the store like an idiot. The humming though, gives him an idea.

“….Do you have any music?” he asks.

Sun is…not the most bookish person. This fact seems to weigh down on him stronger the moment he enters the Book Trade, which was dimly lit and rather cramped, with books stacked floor to ceiling. How badly did he really want to embarass himself?

He’s just thinking of turning around and walking back out when he hears the owner behind the counter.

Sun walking in and not being very bookish at all but just kind of wondering out loud "do you have any music" and Tukson sheepishly is like nah man just books and Sun gets excited and says he should get a shelf full of CDs and eventually Sun just helps him get a bunch of genres of music into the store for the not-so-bookish.
