The Trump administration’s top family planning official doesn’t think birth control works

Trump will reportedly be appointing not one but two vocal abortion opponents to the Department of Health and Human Services.

According to Politico, Teresa Manning — a law professor and anti-choice, anti-contraception activist — will be named deputy assistant secretary in the Office of Population Affairs, which delegates Title X funds to family planning initiatives. 

The appointment hasn’t been formally made yet, but according to Politico, “several sources” have confirmed it.

Manning, formerly Wagner, has worked both for the National Right to Life Committee and the Family Research Council, and has written a book on the “pro-life movement.“ 

She has used her platform to prop up medically inaccurate claims about the purported link between breast cancer and abortion, which medical experts agree does not exist.

Trump started an anti-immigrant hotline. People are trolling it with tales of aliens.

On Wednesday, Trump administration launched the Victims of Immigrant Crime Engagement Office. 

With the launch of VOICE also came the opening of VOICE’s official hotline, which fields calls from those who allege they are the victim of a crime carried out by a immigrant.

According to BuzzFeed, since the hotline’s launch, the phone lines have been tied up with calls about undocumented aliens — from outer space.

More accurately, no one really breaks up friendships (or families) over differences of “opinion”, but they will do so over differences of fundamental issues of morality.

The fact that large numbers of people think that “moral positions, often about issues that are literally life and death” and “personal opinions” are interchangeable concepts is a large part of what’s wrong with society.

Like, you really, genuinely think that you, as a 16 year old presumably straight teenage boy would have changed your name, requested everyone you know call you by different pronouns, changed your entire wardrobe and look, went to school presenting yourself as a girl, dealt with the bullshit you would likely have gotten from your parents, family, friends, classmates, teachers, doctors, neighbors, people on the street, and rearranged your entire life…

Chinese student starts #ChineseLivesMatter petition after United drags Asian man off plane

On Sunday night, viral video footage of a 69-year-old Chinese doctor being violently removed from an overbooked United Airlines flight after refusing to give up his seat ignited worldwide outrage.

The footage is gut-wrenching: Several officers forcefully pull him out of his seat. 

His head hits a neighboring passenger’s armrest, and he is dragged down the aisle as blood pours from his face. The man’s screams can be heard in the smartphone footage. Zhang Zishi knew he had to do something when he came across the video.
