Book Dissection

I had to stop going on to goodreads.com to try and find books because no matter how many reviews I read there were always those in depth book dissections that drive me crazy. Now I know there are people out there who love dissecting books and finding all the symbolism and discontinuities between books in a series, but it definitely isn't for me. English is my least favorite subject for that reason and it made reading not fun for me. I don't care what the color yellow means in The Great Gatsby or that an author described something on page 342 in book one slightly different than in the last chapter of book 27. I want to read so that I can be pulled into another world, and escape the boring spells of everyday life. Not that I can't get into some in depth discussions about demigods and their stupid civil war or that I think Sam is really the hero and not Frodo. I just want a good book, not a cadaver.

see the thing about this is, it’s not just the couples.

Sure, you’ve got Hercules and Megara, Rapunzel and Eugene, Tiana and Naveen, etc, but you also have Mulan and her parents, Anna and Elsa, Aladdin and Genie, and Pocahontas and John Smith (they aren’t a couple, friendly reminder). Because it’s not just two lovers who would put themselves before the one they love. It’s lovers and siblings and friends and family. 

 Love is universal, and love is there always.
