An excellent Lazy DIY tip is to apply as many Instagram filters to photos of your otherwise very plain room!
This is a snapshot of my room back in the UK. I really miss my beautiful bed and all my books! One day I'll get it all over to Ireland, but in the meantime it's quite nice to go back and visit <3 Although this is my room and I can do what I want to it (my parents own the house) I kind of haven't really changed it much for quite some time. What can I say? I am lazy! However, I do like changing things around, so every few years I'll swap my bed around and (gasp) re-catergorise all my books! I noticed that finding bed covers that match the blankets my parents own really makes my room feel super cosy. There's nothing quite like co-ordination to make a room look gorgeous! So stick to three colours (or less) and you can really make your room stand out.
Liven up your living room with cheerful dinosaurs!
One day I want to decorate my light fixtures with old photoframes, but until that day I am content with finding old postcards and framing the light switch with these! This is in my spare room (which also contains my books) so I think that covering the walls with postcards with a literary inclination is a stroke of inspired genius. Right?
I love the gorgeous reading nooks that have been popping up on Pinterest recently. If I ever own my own house then I am totally maybe someday going to create a proper reading nook, but for now I have to make do with what I've got. In our spare room we've inherited this pretty rubbish bunkbed. The bottom bit is supposed to fold back into a futon but previous tenants broke it and we have to live with the consequences. Woo! This is a WIP but as I am lazy it will probably be a WIP for a long time. It's very cosy to sit in and read though so I'm happy with it. I suppose it just goes to show that even crappy rented accommodation furniture can be livened up with a few blankets, cushions and pretty things. I have a duvet underneath the blanket to make it a little more comfortable to lounge about on and I'm going to be adding more decorations to the nook as and when I find them. The gauzy material was a gift from my partner's mum and it makes the bed/nook feel super cozy and enclosed without sacrificing any of the light. Also I have Pokemon bedsheets on the top bunk and that just makes me very happy <3
Tutorial I made last year for super easy super lazy bunting :D
Super Easy Star Bunting
Welcome to the first of many tutorials run by the team at CraftiliciousCats! Crafting is so much fun & it’s even better when you have a whole bunch of friends to craft with! We want to share some of the projects and experiments we’ve been doing – we hope you enjoy them and have as much fun as we did!
Bunting is a very cute and fashionable way of decorating right now! I love how much effort people go into making absolutely gorgeous bunting (in fact, there’s even a treasury we’ve made in our shop, go check it out! ) that just looks simply stunning. I, however, am pretty rubbish when it comes to sewing neatly, so I wanted to come up with a quick alternative! I have loads of paper and loads of different punches, so I figured I could try and do something with the stuff I had. This took me about 15 minutes to do and I’m actually really pleased with it! Obviously it’s made out of paper, so possibly not suitable for outdoor use (silly British summers!) but it will look good inside.

N.B. I stole the fancy holepunch thingy from my mum, a regular holepunch will do if you don't have a family member or friend who has crazy crafting tools :D
Instagram Wall There are loads of gorgeous Instagram walls all over the internet and I wanted to decorate my new house with something similar. Because I'm renting, I didn't really want to put up loads of framed photos (also I am lazy) - plus it's a lot cheaper not to frame these! It's also a lot more flexible; it takes about five seconds to change a photo if you're bored of it being up on your wall. These photographs start from the beginning of 2013 and end in July 2014. Most of these photos were taken when I was going through chemo so they're not the most adventurous photographs but they look pretty and that's all I really care about. To be fair, you don't even really need Instagram - just get a graphics program and crop any photo down to the same square size. For this project, will you need: ♥ time ♥ an Instagram account ♥ blue-tack ♥ about £15-£20 depending on how many photos you get printed out (you can print this out using a printer but I like getting them printed out on matte photo paper) 1. So first of all, you'll need to accumulate lots of photographs! I printed mine out via Boots' Photo Printing because I could do it on the internet while sitting in my pyjamas. You can print them out with a printer at home if you prefer. 2. Decide how you're going to group them. This is supposed to be in vague colour-order but I may swap it around the next time I re-arrange my wall. You could group them by date or by people - whatever you decide you want to do. 3. Stick them up on your wall! Blue-tack is pretty good although it can damage the paint if it's cheap. However, I feel it's much cheaper to paint over the walls at the end of your tenancy than it would be to fill in all the cracks etc left by hanging up a million frames, right? 4. Sit back and admire your beautiful & totally in-fashion wall!
