More than ever, this quote hits home!
Throwback Thursday: Us at Disney Hollywood Studios in 1999
Patrick got to spend part of his day with the Easter Bunny Family at Magic Kingdom
We are in the process of moving and I found this note from the Justice of the Peace who married us. Its a great reminder of a fantastic day.
Throwback Thursday: 2004 - On Rock N' Roller Coaster at WDW with Patrick's mom and uncle.
I found this photo and it was so sweet that I had to share it!
We visited the Dali Museum with Chads father today and decided to add a wish to the Dali Wish Tree.
Adoption: being adored and loved by both of my families

Didaskaleinophobia
I have a fear of schools, also known as Didaskaleinophobia (I looked it up). I'm pretty sure I've always had it but while in school I was use to the anxiety. With my new career this fear has come to the front of my mind. The last two days I was set-up in the gym of an elementary school. The first day was fine, I had the whole space to myself but today I was not so lucky. It was PE day and I wanted get out of there as fast as I can, dodgeball is what nightmares are made of! Between this job and adopting a child, I am going to have to get over this irrational fear!
We are excited to become dads through open adoption and can’t wait to get to know the birth parent(s) who will complete our family. Our lives are filled with fun adventures and we look forward to sharing them with our child. We appreciate all the choices available to you and hope you take the time to look at our profile. Please feel free to contact us.
Please head over to our adoption page and click like, the more likes we get the more visible we are!
Three years ago today we were married, we've been together for almost 16 years. Let's hope next year we will have a little one to celebrate with! This photo was taken by our Aunt on the way to the ceremony, I was a nervous wreck!
The adoption process is undoubtedly on the most stressful thing we have ever been through. We're filled with conflicting emotions ranging from hopefulness to dismay and everything in between.
The most common feeling we experience is jealousy. Everytime we see a couple with a baby we're punched in the gut and when it's a gay couple that feeling is doubled. Don't get me wrong, we're happy for them but it hurts.
Patrick feels like we will never be picked by a Birth Mother. He hoped that we would go "live" and be matched immediately. When our monthly stats are released he is disappointed about the numbers.
As for me, I freeze every time our 800 number rings. I think to myself "just let it go to voicemail" and "maybe Patrick will answer it". I know that the call is inevitable but I'm scared to death about how that first call will go.
We have our fears and concerns but we're prepared (regardless of my irrational fear of the telephone) for the next steps in our journey. Our agency says it takes 4 to 5 months until we're in full circulation and as this is our fifth month we are hopeful that the next stage is just around the corner.
If you are a Birth Mother reading we would like you to know that we are also filled with a crazy mixture of emotions and even though they're vastly different then yours, we have the same goal in mind: giving a child a loving home.

All American families are unique, and each one is beautiful. Watch to see some of the families behind “It’s Beautiful”.
During the Super Bowl last night Coca-Cola ran an ad showing a two dad family. This is a first for any company during a peak time and it shows that our country is heading in the right direction when it comes to equality.
We have been in the adoption waiting pool for almost four months and while we have been requested a decent amount of times, we would like to get noticed and shared even more.
If you could please share, tweet, or post about us we would be very grateful! Even if you don’t know someone who might be looking to place a child a friend of a friend might and the more shares that occur the better chance we have of coming in contact with our future child’s birth family.
