I really like an specific sequence in the last chapter of helluva boss, because there show us the importan that is the relationship of Millie and Moxie for Blitzø and Stolas.
Both of them are really bad in relationships, but in this specific time who learn something “new”, was Stolas.
When Moxie start to sing his love song, Asmodeous and Fizzarolly make a lot of jokes about that, and when Blitzø try to “help” in some way, it happen all the scene when Stolas finally see all the damage that he cause to his family for stay with Blitzø.
Stolas always treat this relationship like a fantasy because is his only scape to the reality of a failed marriage and he only want some love but without consequences.
So, when Asmodeous make him confront the result of his action, for the first time he felt ashamed. Not only because he was exposed, he is ashamed because his fantasy finally is broken and he need to choose…but in that moment, he don’t know what to do and the only thing he can do is hide is face, but this, has a consequence too that he don’t see: He make feel Blitzø like he is not enough.
Blitzø really though for a little moment that maybe Stolas was to say something for defend him. But since his point of view, he think that Stolas felt ashamed for him. Because of course, he think that for Stolas, he is just a “toy”.
After that, Asmodeous just keep singing like he don’t destroy all the progress in a relationship…and here is when the love came and attack….literally.
Millie come in the rescue of Moxie, and give him the chance to finish the song. She got his back and never let him down.
And is something that even Verosika, Asmodeous and Fizzarolly can respect in a strange way.
And in the same time, they show to Stolas the truth of love, and that is,being there for your partner. Make them feel safe when they can’t defend themselves because it worth it. Because with the correct person you can be yourself and can be happy.
But in this point when he finally try to do something….is too late…
Thanks to come to my Ted talk and sorry for the bad English
