Note: I HAVE seen all of The Boys. Any spoilers are allowed if needed. All this is noncanon because I haven’t read the comics and we really never learned about him much in S5, E5, “One-Shot”.

Samuel Williams Carter [Mr. Marathon]. He is forty, but got kicked out of The Seven at thirty-two. He has a more rugged, “degenerate" look compared to typical active Supes, often appearing with long hair and a beard. He still keeps his old super-suit, which is a black and gold costume that fits the older Vought aesthetic. He is a party animal who can bring a party to its knees. He has a *large* hatred for Homelander, and blames him for his downfall. He is a drug addict. Coke addiction. (But he is trying to get clean—). He is also very vengeful. He can also appear high and hosting wild parties at his mansion (Which most of the time doesn’t end well). He loves parties.

(BACKSTORY IS NONCANON!) Samuel was never just a crazy drug addict. He never was. As a kid, he was born by two Supes, Quick Kick and Miss Whisper. As a child, he never got as much attention and knew that’s what he wanted for some reason. As he grew, his ability got more memorable…his super speed. When he was twenty, he was an official Vought member, not knowing the risks it took. The tests, the labs, the blood drawing, the injections. It all messed up his mind in some way. He was now officially part of The Seven in some…strange way. He only remembers muffled and hazy memories, the rest probably drowned in drugs. The drugs kept him going. The pain was slowly going away. That was when Soldier Boy came. With Homelander. But after some understandings (and a fight), Mr. Marathon helped Homelander and Soldier Boy to find V1…and had to kill Malchemical (Homelander’s orders). And now? Here he is…the new A-Train again. There isn’t exactly enough backstory for Mr. Marathon…for now.

His abilities are superhuman speed, superhuman strength, and enhanced reflexes.

The Void smiled without warmth, something sharp and wrong stretching across his face like it had been forced there. Teeth showed, not in threat but in certainty—the kind that didn’t rush, didn’t need to. He didn’t speak. He didn’t have to. The memory pushed itself into the other man’s head, over and over, grinding in place: the race, the stumble, the moment it all slipped away. A-Train’s back getting smaller. The silence after. The door closing on The Seven. Then it shifted, because it always did—his friends, their bodies breaking under his own hands, not even hands, just impact, just force, just him. Flesh turning to nothing. Heat. Wet. The way it clung. The way it wouldn’t wash off, no matter how hard he tried, no matter how long he stood there pretending he could still feel clean.

It didn’t stop. It never stopped. In a blink, the weight was there again, fused to him, part of him, like it had always been waiting. What was left of Seth Rogen’s face hung from his shoulder, warped and half-recognizable, lips twitching like they still remembered how to smile. It turned just enough to meet his gaze, to acknowledge him, to exist. The Void let it linger there, let it breathe in the silence. Then, finally—soft, almost gentle, like something said at the end of a long fall—“You know… it’s better this way.” A pause, thin and endless. “Nothing left to lose. Nothing left that can hurt you.” Another pause. Closer now. “It only stings for a second.”

It felt…gross. Well, he remembered all of this. And why…did it scare him? To speed through them again, to…to…see their flesh? It made him sick. Whatever kind of ride this was, he wanted off. “This isn’t funny!” he shouted as he glanced around. How did he even get here? Who was this guy? He groaned as he tried to rub all the blood off, scrambling to get clean. Why was this happening again? Why? “Stop!” he shouted as he stumbled. Why was he panicking? He didn’t mean to kill them. He didn’t—

Samuel panted heavily as he quickly clutched his chest, his heart pounding in his chest. Was he having a small panic attack? No. He couldn’t, right? Right?

He looked around before he closed his eyes again, which probably wouldn’t do anything. “What the hell is going on?” he shouted as he opened his eyes again. Was he dreaming or something?
