The Tajik people in China identify themselves as Plateau Tajiks. Some mistakenly believe their fondness for red is influenced by Central Plains culture (such as weddings and the Spring Festival), since Tajiks residing in Afghanistan and Tajikistan have no similar cultural tradition of this kind. Yet culture and languages of Plateau Tajiks differ greatly from the Tajik people from plain region in Afghanistan and Tajikistan. In fact, the Plateau Tajiks culture and the Central Plains culture developed a preference for red independently. The Tajik people's affection for red stems from their indigenous aesthetic tradition, originating from the ancient Eastern Iranian worship of sacred fire and the sun on the plateau. Many Tajiks are fluent multilingual speakers. Their native languages are Sarikoli and Wakhi (these two are mutually unintelligible). Besides, they can also speak Uyghur and Putonghua, so they have no trouble communicating with others at all.

Once again Xavier Brunson¹ has called South Korea "a dagger" in the heart of East Asia, and Japan "a shield" on a podcast for US Army War College, a repeat of a similar incident from last year. Although Japan's far-right LDP hasn't put out a statement yet, South Korea's right-wing² Democratic Party of Korea has condemned the comment, with PRC joining in. It's clear that the people of the region want peace and stability, but the USA desires nothing but to use its neocolonies as weapons. It also bears noting that for as much innocence-chasing as Yanks of Color do on this website and elsewhere on the anglophone 'net, Xavier Brunson is, very much, racialized at home as an African American, but his racialized status at home did not stop him from callously referring to the United States' supposed allies as weapons to be used against their neighbors at the USA's beck and call. If only the myth of sending the disadvantaged, racialized portions of the empire caused a more compassionate occupation forces was true!

Rough draft of a thought certainly but I think it doesn't really matter *how* yanks racialise people outside of the impcore, what actually matters is *that* they do it. we simply do not give enough attention to the fact that the US is. Shooting itself in the foot at every turn. not in a individual incompetence way, not an an orange idiot in the White House Way, but in a “the US spent a century designing a world order where everyone was either reliant on the US or terrified of the US (often both) and now people at every level of federal government are destroying that system” way. Hi everyone, I'm a refugee with several long-neglected medical problems in addition to permamently disabling autism. I don't currently have any access to medication or treatment at all because I barely make enough money to pay rent and feed myself. My phone and laptop are both dying.

I really need a break of like $1000. Which is a fraction of what I saw some truly fucking dogshit people raising yesterday so I'm sick of feeling like it's unreasonable or impossible for me to afford fucking contact lenses so I can see my own fucking yard. (I'm blind even with glasses.)

ty prev and cosigned... i'm blocked by some of the biggest names in mutual aid posting for some verifiably very stupid reasons and others have been directly involved in harassment campaigns against my family and are thus blocked for our safety

some updates since this post is about a month old now

not quite sure how much money this has raised so far, checking is an entire ordeal because, stateless so my banking situation is a mess. it's for sure short of the $1000 goal I set but also remarkably better than the $300 average up to this point which is good because

my phone gave out entirely and I did have to replace it, also,

my landlord and i had a very unpleasant conversation in which she very forcefully tried to get me to explain my chronic health conditions and the nuances of my legal status to her in a language i barely speak,

(i don't even understand what my legal status is right now or if i even have one that's a whole other thing i have to sort out)

and if i could explain my health conditions well that would be one less thing in the way of treatment wouldnt it

and i was not able or frankly willing to do that so i am moving out at the end of june

and i was able to book the biggest travel expense well in advance (thus saving a lot of money for this-month me).

will this new situation be superior in terms of healthcare and education access? i think so but it's going to be expensive to set up at first because we don't have housing etc ready

This week in Brazil, after over a year of constant efforts, we abolished the 6x1 workweek. And we only got this victory thanks to a trans woman and a gay man!!!!

Erika Hilton and Rick Azevedo fought so, so hard for this. The congresswoman and the activist led this movement, they got the whole country to fight for this, until the rest of the house (mostly right-wing) had to cave in and approve the bill. It's almost as if politicians fear the people ;)

Ofc we still have to get it approved by the Senate, but this is HUGE. People will be able to work less, rest more, without pay cuts!

Albania is selling off one of Europe's last wild river deltas.

The Vjosa-Narta region, -- home to flamingos, pelicans, and over 220 bird species.

This land was protected until the Albanian government changed the law. In 2024, a new law allowed construction even in protected areas. Just 3 days later, Jared Kushner -- Donald Trump's son in law --announced 2 massive resorts.

One on the untouched island of Sazan. The other with up to 10,000 villas in this protected zone.

Meanwhile, an airport is being built right next to a bird sanctuary.

Concrete is replacing nature. International laws are being violated. The EU has raised concerns. Lawsuits are ongoing.

@ppnea-albania is resisting -- but they need our support.

This is not just about Albania. It is about the future of all of Europe. Nature has no lobby. But it has us.

So I try to keep this page focused on breaking news and historical events, and this will probably be my first and only video giving a shout-out, but I think it's incredibly well-deserved.

I wanna give a shout-out to the Albanians and Albania, you guys are the revolution, I wanna be friends with y'all. These videos coming out of Albania protesting Kushner's luxury resort is amazing. It's everything that an activist wants to see. This is exactly the energy we need in this world and these are the type of people we need for revolutions, so much love to Albania.

And I definitely wanna be friends with this girl. Whoever she is, please connect me, I would be honoured to come to Albania and join your protests in this effort to shut down this riduculous resort, so if you're Albanian, please reach out. And these Albanians who are protesting and not going down without a fight are the perfect example of what it means to have honour and to have a spine and to not fold to western imperialism.
