Superman and Lois Lane in All-Star Superman
@realwhenitsuseful // "you’re gonna have to go to the hospital and get a couple of stitches."
lois sighed as the other finished looking at the gash on her arm. it was just something small, an accident whilst being caught up in the entire halloween mess. it hadn’t felt like very much at the time. the blood had been more of nuisance than anything, but she guessed that was just the adrenaline in her system. “here i thought i might be able to avoid it,” she breathed. “stupid really i could face down the end of the world a hundred times, but needles not so much,” still she trusted bruce’s opinion on such things. “how’s everyone holding up anyway? anything you need me and clark to do?”

( part I )
“I shouldn’t have trusted you.”
“You shouldn’t have trusted me.”
“Why did you do this?”
“You had a choice.”
“Don’t lie to my face.”
“I’m not lying.”
“I used to love you but now all I see is the monster that you are.”
“Admit it!”
“Why do you keep doing this?”
“Aren’t you tired of hurting me?”
“When will you learn?”
“I hate you.”
“You don’t love me, I get it. But I’m still in love with you.”
“I’m in love with him/her/they.”
“I… cheated on you.”
“I can’t deal with this anymore.”
“Why is this so difficult?”
“Why are we doing this?”
“I’m tired.”
“I’m tired of all this.”
“Please… just stop.”
“Why do I keep doing this to myself?”
“You don’t deserve him/her/they.”
“I’m better without you.”
“You’re better without me.”
“I should have known.”
“I don’t care.”
“Why do I have to pretend that I care?”
“It was easier…”
“It’s the right thing to do.”
“You screwed up.”
“I let you down.”
“You let me down.”
“I don’t know what I’m doing.”
“I don’t know what I’m doing with my life.”
“Why is it so hard for you to see that I love you?”
“We’re screwed.”

“Here you go -” Dick sets a cup of water on the table in front of them before settling down in his seat, watching them with a kind but concerned expression. “Why don’t you tell me what happened?”
“i’m used to being the one that asks that question,” lois laughs, although it’s a mostly hollow sound that leaves her throat. “i was in the maze and i bumped into talia, i’m not sure how much there is to tell,” she shrugged. looking over at the one she had known since he was a child. “we were just focused on finding jon and damian,”
kvlcl‌:
clark’s mouth opened to respond but he did as she asked. the fear gas had shaken even him up, reminded him of his death at the hands of doomsday and shown him what his life would be without his family, without lois. those weren’t thoughts he liked to consider, so he could only imagine what the human mind went through under fear gas. he smiled softly as she looked him over, trying to assure her without words. when she fell into him he swiftly caught her and held her close. âťť i’m alright, lo, i’m here. âťž he murmured, burying his face into her hair. âťť it’s okay, we’re okay. âťž he added, not sure who he was trying to reassure, her or himself.Â
she let herself have this moment to just breath, the feeling of his arms around her something warm, something comforting, something safe. ❝ god clark i... i thought ❞ the words bring up bile in her throat the thought that something could have happened to him the man she love who was damn near invincible, to their child. she had been good at staying focused while the danger was present. she had faced her fair share of battles, but even then those images were going to take some effort to shake. it’s a long moment before she says anything. ❝ is it stupid that i want to tell you to never leave my sight again âťž it was impossible of course, but in moments like this she didn’t care about gotham, didn’t care about superman. just wanted him to be safe, ❝ i love you, âťž it’s a more rational statement, one she didn’t have to think about ❝ i love you so much âťžÂ
@kvlcl // ❝ don’t say anything for a moment just... ❞ lois breathed upon sight of the other. ❝ let me enjoy the sight of you alive ❞ lois spoke, hands on her husband’s forearms, not hiding the way that her eyes were scanning over him. trying to look for any trace of harm, or kryptonite or anything else the stupid gas could have threaded through her mind. she was used to putting herself in the line of fire, but clark was always going to be her achilles heel. she was falling into his arms the moment he knew he was alright, clinging tightly. ❝ i was so scared something had happened to you, ❞
I knew I could handle the situation.
@mistressofdemcns she hadn’t earnt the title of the world’s best reporter by not being through hell and back. lois had told stories from some of the worlds most dangerous places, war, terrorists, malevolent aliens she had faced them all with her head held high. how hard was it going to be to find her way out of a maze? still the sight of the other made her stop. she couldn’t have been a hallucination, there wasn’t enough panic in her for that so that meant she had to be real. she didn’t even know if talia knew she was real, perhaps that didn’t matter. the first she said would have remained the same. “do you know the way out of here? i need to find my son. help me. please,” she had no reason to trust her, and talia certainly had no reason to help. she was a killer after all, but she was banking on that connection to damian all the same.
kvlcl‌:
settling into the seat to get comfortable, clark ran his fingers along her arm and kissed her forehead. despite the chaos of life as a hero and gotham, lois never failed to calm him and help him believe everything would be okay. âťť maybe a little but i find it weird to be away from it too, âťž he admitted. clark went wherever superman was needed but it wasn’t often he left metropolis for a long period of time. unlike lois he’d really only called two places home, so having his family with him definitely helped him adapt to gotham better. his blue eyes twinkled with amusement and adoration as he looked at her. âťť that’s your biggest complaint, lo ?? i could always run home and grab you another if you wanted. âťžÂ
there’ a comfort for her just having him there. years of being together had of course changed between them, she no longer got the butterflies or the sparks at every touch but it had been replaced by something greater. there was an understanding she didn’t have with anyone else. they really had become the matching parts of each other. ❝ i managed in the time that jon was growing up, i’m not sure why it’s all that different, ❞ she laughs then, shaking her head. ❝ it’s alright, it wont hurt to pick up a new one or two ❞ it seemed like some things wouldn’t change even if they were in gotham. ❝ i’ll be happy so long as we never have to move again ❞ she joked with a grin.
Ask my muse anything you want on anon!

glancing up from the cup that held his intense focus, jason merely offered a small smile as he listened on about the other’s opinion of the rain in gotham. he once had loath the rain as well, mostly because rain meant that he would have a harder time keeping himself ( and his mother ) warm in their crappy and broken apartment. but soon he had grown to love the rain, mostly because it’s what makes gotham so beautiful and alluring in his opinion. chuckling lightly, he brought the cup of tea towards his lip, relishing in the small warmth that the drink brought him.Â
“happiness? in gotham? those are two words i thought i would never hear together in a sentence.” placing his cup back onto the table, jason gives a small melancholic look at the small ripples in his tea. the concept itself even feels foreign to him, to the point he wonders if there could be any joy in this black and dull city. “i mean, i am breathing and alive. that’s an achievement for me already. what about you? is it just the rain that’s ruining your day?”Â
rain had always been a nuisance, a city girl when she was in the states, she had far too many memories of wet papers as she dashed in from sitting outside from coffee shops, a privileged life really. then when she was traveling she had seen what had happened when people didn’t get the water they needed. either way she simply was not a fan.
“well we have to start somewhere don’t we?” she asks with a slight shrug. she was well aware of just how idealistic she sounded, interesting considering that everyone in metropolis would have called her more of a realist. “the joker is dead it’s up to us to make sure that that means something,” it seemed a little odd to be lecturing on jason on such things she had not a doubt he was already aware of the fact. “all this interviewing, and i’m getting nowhere. i don’t really see why i’m here at times,”

The first thing that came to Damian’s mind when it came to umbrellas was how to incapacitate someone. Jabbed eyes, dislocated eyes, bruised ribs, broken legs. It was more purposeful as a weapon rather than a convenience to block out the rain and worry about the wind straining the weak metallic rods. “See? They’re also crooks.” It was easier to stick a hand out the window, to watch the patterns of animals and whether the birds fly to take shelter. Weathermen meant absolutely nothing in Damian’s opinion, especially when he fought rain and shine. His lip twitched questioning, shoulder shrugging as he peeled out of his dampened jacket and crumbled it into his arms. “It was stupid and dumb, some basic math problems that I was able to complete when I was seven.” He blinked once or twice, not really sure at her question. But the cringe – though he wasn’t going for the reaction was satisfactory. It meant he still was able to throw people off, both with words and sticks and stones. “You’re right, but that’s what I mean. It could be worse, but it’s just rain.”Â
a look of near amusement crosses lois’ features. she had learnt a long time ago not to question damian’s logic too much. he had a very specific way of seeing the world around him even if that was vastly different from her own. “i don’t think they’re all that bad, besides i doubt everyone can be right about everything all the time,” frankly if a weatherman got something wrong it was hardly the end of the world. she wondered sometimes what that lack of pressure must have felt like in comparison to what she faced, or even worst her husband. she dreaded the event of clark making the wrong call whilst trying to save the day. that would cost lives. there was another thing about damian, he was a hell of a lot smarter than nearly everyone else in the room. his father’s son in that regard. “there must have been something you liked about it, or at least you must have liked showing off just a little,” she spoke, a laugh tumbling from her lips before then shaking her head. “you’re right of course, unfortunately i don’t have years of training or powers to make sure the just rain doesn’t bother me,”

while she enjoyed things like this daisy was still adjusting to the position of director and the aftermath of the team’s most recent misadventure. but a carnival was a nice distraction and she’d run into numerous familiar faces, which was nice. ❝ you’re lois lane, right ?? ❞ she asked as she came across a woman. ❝ i’m sorry i don’t mean to be intrusive, i’m just a big fan of your work and wanted to say thanks. you sorta set the bar. ❞ lois had been one of her many influences when it came to her hacktivist work and freedom of speech, information, and human and inhuman rights. || @superwcman
she had told perry that she needed to go to the carnival herself (not that he had given her much disagreement) because of the statement it made. if she was willing to go to gotham and have fun then perhaps other people would relax too. the name lois lane seemed a little more accessible than superman in that regard, or at least that’s what she hoped anyway. still the other speaking took her by surprise “oh hi yeah I am,” she nods with a smile “well thank you that’s a pretty big compliment... you a reporter?”

Despite the fact that he’s very purposefully chosen not to take part, Steve can’t deny the festival has been a lot of fun so far. It’s nice to be able to see people making the most of the day, trying to turn the situation around into something brighter. Still, he can’t deny it’s good to see another familiar face, smiling at Lois’ question. “I’m not sure the daily planet should want a quote from little ol’ me.” Steve answers with a chuckle, only half-joking. “It’s a pretty good turnout, huh.”
lois has always been protective of her friends, even back before she had become involved in the superhero life which meant even steve was on the list of people she cared over even if the super soldier technically didn’t need her. “i wouldn’t be sure,” she shrugs, a grin filling her features. “it’s not every day a reporter gets to interview a wanted fugitive,” it’s only then that she really stands back, arms crossed about her chest. “i’m convinced most people are here just to dunk bruce, you can quote me on that,”
DC Comics Superheroine & the First Lady of Comics: Lois Lane ↳ “Lois Lane is Clark Kent’s Superman”
I can guarantee you [Clark’s] life has only gotten better since he took down his wall for me. But old habits die hard. Not only has he built new walls, he’s made them even higher. He’s stubborn that way. So I’m going to break them…          …because what we need now more than ever are friends.     – Lois Lane, Trinity #1
