Boring passing days // Open

These past few days have been rather boring. Once Keisuke was finished with his studies he realizes that he has much more free time on his hands afterwards. Without much human interaction, he turned to short little past times to occupy himself with. Most of which involved playing with his cat- or with little hand-held video games. As opposed to Atsuro, who spent most of his time online, the brunet hardly even touched his social media accounts. He only logged on once or twice, simply to say hello to his younger sister- and let her know that he was doing quite well. Although he was rather bored, and a few times considered going back home.

He had been spending most of his free time brushing up on his mythology, or playing puzzle games on his hand-held. Which the brunet grew quickly bored of once he had finished most of the puzzles. "Professor, all these puzzles become so boring after so many hours of playing... It's rather frustrating." He mentions to the screen before shutting off the device itself. He wasn't much of a heavy gamer either- he only played the few games he did have when Atsuro played with him back in middle school. Thinking about it, he had looked through all the games he had purchased back then: all of them being multi-player.

Perhaps he should find a new companion, lest the loneliness get to him in the end. Frustrated, and bored he pats the kitten- lounging idly by itself before he heads outside, not paying much attention when he opens the door. As he makes his way out- he stumbles. Running into someone passing in the hallway.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see you there!" He stammers once before making sure he didn't knock the person over completely, aiding them if needed.

I'm so sorry for being inactive on Keisuke lately, however- I'll be posting a nice little starter for him today after I get back from school. (/'~')/ Forgive me!

Awkward? Sure Keisuke doesn’t look exactly like a social butterfly, but Yuzu thinks that he should at least be fine with his own friends. Perhaps those two have changed in drastic ways…

The thought puts a heavy sensation on her chest. Leaving with the least of words and then changing so drastically without her: that isn’t how friendship is suppose to work, especially since they’ve been friends for years and years. She tries to replace the depressing feeling with anger, how much of a lecture she would give those to about proper manners and the like. 

"Well, show me the places you know, and I’ll go try and find the other places sometime. We can exchange intel, y’know? Secret gardens will be secret no more with our teamwork."

She feels like visiting one of those gardens will improve her dropping mood. After all, she didn’t move here just to go spy on Atsuro and Kaz; the notion was just ridiculous. She may as well enjoy the city she now calls her home.

Friends came and went, and although she was here now- they have probably changed and molded themselves in different ways than one would ever predict. Keisuke had been quite surprised at the changes that Atsuro had made himself- and he feels partially responsible for not being there to witness them, but there wasn't anything that the brunet could even do.

He didn't doubt that the girl was someone who seemed rather rash with one nature or another. She obviously hinted displeasure from being 'left behind' by her two best friends in the world. In a way, he felt for her. But it wasn't any of his business.

"Then I'll do just that then, but perhaps a little later- right? You must be tired from settling in." He chuckles a little with the 'secret gardens' trope. Nodding in agreement. It was nice to have someone to talk to. At least he didn't have to be alone so often anymore. Having a talkative roommate would be great.

  "Lighten up a little, Keisuke. It’s just a little joke. I haven’t seen him or Kaz in ages though…" Towards the end of her sentence, she trails off. 

"W-wow, secret gardens? Sounds really nice." She tries to take her mind off the fact she’s had minimal communication with her childhood friends in the time they’ve been gone. "Be my tour guide and show me them all sometime!"

He might have been a little sore about the subject. But mostly because he'd protected Atsuro from bullies, and he still felt obligated to do so. One little insult could open up a wound. And he never really questioned what exactly went on in Atsuro's mind- but he didn't factor out that negative little things could possibly linger.

Nevertheless, he relaxes. An assuring smile- but he would keep an eye on the way Yuzu spoke with others. She meant well, but he didn't think she knew just how much words could hurt a person. But- he wouldn't teach her that lesson. 

"They're... Around. I go over to their apartment every so often for a movie night, or two. But sometimes it's just a little awkward.." Seeing as though Atsuro and Kazuya were... well... A thing.

"Well, I couldn't possibly show you all of them, Tanikawa. That would mean I would know where all of them were- and that would also mean that it wouldn't be that much of a secret. I only know a few of the locations."

  "Did you really think I would take commands from Atstupid? Jeez, I’m glad you finally figured it out. Anyways, glad we’re roommates too. I don’t know what I would do if I was roomed with some weirdo.

"How’s life in the city been treating you?"

"Please refrain from insulting Atsuro in my presence. I don't feel very comfortable with it." Whether he had to explain it or not- he would probably make that one of the rules. Even if it was playful- he couldn't fully tolerate it. Nevertheless, he lets this on slide.

"A lot of people in this city are strange.... But there are some good people here. The city is nice. The secret gardens are fun getaways also. If you'd ever like to join me- be my guest."

  "Keisuke… you’re looking at me strange. What’s the matter?" 

Those glasses do look oddly familiar, but who was the one the glasses were wearing?

He finally fits the pieces together.

"At first, I thought you were here as a messenger of Atsuro.... But then I remembered how you two interact with one another, and I realized I was mistaken. You must be my new roommate then... I'm a little surprised- but also a bit relieved to know that it's someone I know."

He realizes he got a new roommate. Then he realizes it's a girl- but not only is it a girl, it's a girl he knows. But thankfully not Midori- he'd be a nervous wreck.

But those breasts do look oddly familiar....

I lost my kitten // open

He lost the kitten. He lost Yama. He's searching every where for him. Where did that curious kitten wander off to? His heart was breaking. Ultimately breaking. In half.

Oh wait... The kitten is nestled into his backpack- having crawled in there for a nap at some incredible hour. Not like the brunet had noticed that at all.

"Y-Yama! Come back home Yama! I've got treats and toys and food! YAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" You would never think that Keisuke actually was this loud when you first meet him. But he must find this kitten.

  "Oh—is that so?"

She hadn’t realized there was any kind of strip mall or shopping center in the area…though she supposed she could chalk that up to little to no exploration on her part. Io had a set routine and route, and didn’t deviate from it often—not when she’d first arrived in the city, and not now.

In any case…she’d let Keisuke lead the way. She’d have to make sure to pay close attention to her surroundings to avoid any trouble getting back, as well.

"Family-friendly, huh…" Io tilted her head and smiled. "I like those kinds of movies. There’s some humor in them for everyone."

It just seemed like a little plaza on the GPS, so it didn't seem like such a big deal, anyway.

Should he think of it much later on, Keisuke probably would have just escorted her back. Although, it didn't seem like she couldn't get back on her own- he would've have just been doing it to be nice, in the end. He didn't exactly know about how to start a conversation with this girl- he's never actually really met her. To him she was more of a stranger than anything. He didn't know what may, or may not set her off. But at least she made the effort to continue on the topic.

"Like animation, and kids movies? Sometimes it's really funny. Other times it's just so expected that the joke makes you want to groan and roll your eyes."

  〈What a busy week… Rui had been out almost all day, and going back to his apartment and sleeping for a bit sounded really nice right now. However, it was quite a long walk and he did not want to bother with public transportation at the moment, so the boy was walking quite fast, barely paying attention to his surroundings.〉

〈Ever since the recent activity happening around Toshi City, he had been busier than ever, dealing with attending classes and schoolwork, and now, the Defense Force. He had been practically used to a work load due to managing GALAX when he was residing in Tachikawa, but that still was not nearly as much as he was working with now. However, Rui was diligent and hard-working as ever, so it wasn’t too difficult to get through all of his daily tasks and still being able to get a good nights sleep.〉

〈Rui had been not too far away from a brunette and had been walking behind him, but when the boy was about to pass the other, Keisuke turned quickly before he could react, the two smacked into each other. The prodigy quickly glanced over to the other that he just bumped into, carefully adjusting his glasses, which had fallen down his face slightly. “…My apologies.” Rui gave a short nod, hoping the other was fine.〉

He staggers a little, pulling back from the impact of the smack of foreheads against each other- but it didn't exactly seem to phase the other. Almost mirrored, he instantaneously reached to adjust his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose. Silently looking over the other. The brunet, simply unsure with how to follow. It wasn't even Rui's fault.

"No no- it was my fault. I turned too suddenly, I didn't see you." He mutters out apologetically, turning his head away once eye contact is made for a second. He's a little awkward about situations like this. He hardly wants to come across as a bad guy just for bumping into someone by accident- but if he's at fault he should acknowledge them at the very least. 

"I'm sorry for bumping into you, I didn't mean to do so." He pauses, looking once at the bag Rui had in his possession- and with just his luck it bore the emblem of this city school district. "Ah- are you a student at the academy?"

He has a box of chocolates. It's Valentine's Day. He has absolutely no one to give them to, so he isn't exactly sure on what to do with him. Probably will just give them to someone he knows. Something like that. It's easier that way.

"Who should the chocolates go to, Yama?" Tiny kitten mews in response to his question. He can't seem to help but chuckle.

"Kittens don't get chocolate, Yama!"

Tours // Open

  Haruhi had been to museums before. But none of them, and much to her chagrin, ever had anything interesting in them. Sure, old rocks and dirty animal bones might appeal to some people, but she held higher standards than that. Each time she visited, she was hoping to find some sort of proof of supernatural- aliens, time travelers, what have you.

But unfortunately, museums rely more on science than magical people that can only be found in anime, so her hopes were thoroughly crushed each visit.

Still, upon finding a pamphlet to this museum, she still managed to end up here anyways, despite her traumatic past memories of the places. Her eyes were instantly drawn to the bones of this giant beast that stood before her. She wasn’t necessarily big on dinosaurs themselves, but given the opportunity to go back in time and see one, she certainly wouldn’t object. Then again, she wouldn’t object no matter what time era she could travel back too, so perhaps that wasn’t saying much.

Her train of thought was interrupted by a friendly-seeming man with enthusiasm in his voice. A tour guide, apparently. If there was anything cool in this museum, he would know. 

"That depends. You got anything interesting to show me in this place?"

"I have plenty." The brunet responds, his smile deepening only slightly as he takes a look at the pamphlet she had fixed in between her hands. He straightens up a little before thinking about something that may seem to interest the girl. 

"How about mythology..?" He mentions rather quickly- his personal favorite. "Not only do we have an assortment of history-based exhibits, we do also attempt to cater to those who have more interest in the paranormal." He looks back at the reception desk, the wait time for the next tour seemed to be less than 2 hours, so he decided to make this time a little worth while.

"I wouldn't mind showing you the exhibit if you would like?"

The brunet was glad to have landed the job as a tour guide at the museum. It doesn't take a genius historian to memorize what was on the audio tour- and even then, history and mythology was Keisuke's strength. He recalled ancient myths and tales taught to him as a child in elementary schooler, and further explored them and their meanings farther into his adolescence.

History was something that continued to interest him, and the stories that were told throughout time were much more interesting than any old math or science. It was his strength, and he proved himself as a type of educator on these sorts of things. Proving to his new manager that he was capable of guiding young minds through the stories behind each display glass and exhibit. 

It was something that he felt he was particularly good at, and he felt heard taking question of young elementary and middle schoolers walking in and listening to him intently- asking questions every so often. Sometimes he felt a little more excited answering them than they did asking him. Although, he wouldn't beg that they understand. He remembered field trips like that.

Every little kid was paired in groups of 2 to 4 and they were always joking and shoving each other. Field trips were meant to be fun and 'educational'- so they took complete advantage over it. Actually- he remembers being one of the only respectful students in his classes one trips to museums. At least until he starting hanging out with Atsuro, then he was a bit more lively than he would truthfully let on. But nevertheless, he enjoyed the crowd. There was no doubt that the school groups coming and going wouldn't get something out of it, right? He liked to believe so.

Well, his thoughts would have to be ceased. The field trip seemed to be over, and he was waiting for the next tour assigned to him- and if there weren't enough, they'd just wait for the next hour of tours and he would get a bit of a break to himself for a while. 

Just as it seems that he wasn't going to be receiving a tour for the next hour, his attention turns to someone standing idly near the giant dinosaur skeleton that was pieced together at the entrance. Museums were rather iconic that way that they had large dinosaur skeletons. Keisuke caught a tour guide pamphlet in the other's hand and approached quietly. He was feeling rather enthusiastic that someone came to the museum on a whim alone.

"Excuse me- did you come for a tour, today?"

It's actually quite funny to imagine such a boy, who continues to keep the most serious expressions, walking around with a tiny kitten in his arms. He doesn't seem to trust his roommates all that much with his little bundle of fuzz- so he simply takes the kitten around with him. Where ever Keisuke goes, Yama will follow behind. But never on the ground. He was too afraid someone would snatch up his little bundle of fuzz.

Only a quiet 'mew' follows with his footsteps every so often. He doesn't rush. He might as well hold a damn sign that says 'baby on board'.
