i'm rereading House of Leaves right now and Tom's shadow puppets are something that have stuck out to me every time I've readthrough the book. The is something so striking to me, but I can't put a coherent thought about it. The house doesn't allow animals within it, but the shadows of them? The fact that they're snuffed out by the lantern? Soemone tell me their thoughts I'm very taken by Tom's account.
