I remember the first I heard of this story was from the Starbot Dub of it, and I thought it was so interesting and cool and deep and mysterious, because when I had first seen it... I was a kid!
revisiting the comic as an adult, i'm attached to the desperation and humanity more than the mystery, since already know that these characters are satellites, but as a kid I didn't really understand how nine felt
as an adult, i've felt similarly desperate for interaction, to cling on to the people who love me, and reading their dialogue now makes me think, "Oh my god! they're just like me fr fr!!!!"
And I love the dialogue, all of the characters have a distinct voice, it reminds me of texting with my friends (I write how Nine writes also..) It's lived rent free in my head and inspired me to write similar stories with colorized text corresponding to characters.
Also, I clocked the image effect used for the satellites as a Powerpoint image filter, since I used a lot of those back in Middle/High-school...
That's another thing I like! A lot of the visuals are made with software I am familiar with, like I-Movie, Powerpoint, etc... etc...
but uh, to try and end this on a better note than "oooh! I what was used to made this," I love the use of love in the story. Often times love is twisted or toxified or written in a way that's not authentic.
But the way it's shown here is really genuine and sweet and reminds me of how I've been loved before. It's very refreshing and just kinda beautiful really.
17776 has been a massive inspiration for me in a lot of fields and mediums, and I'm happy to celebrate this day as a fan of this story.
