               the brave kid’s hands folded against her chest as she studied amanda’s features. it was evident that the older woman was related to ripley, the way amanda and ripley acted around each other since their reunion only solidified the kid’s assumptions. the blonde child remembered that she had called ripley mommy after ripley had kept her promise that newt knew that ripley would unlike newt’s parents. it had felt right at the time to call ripley her mom and still did. ‘ so, ripley is your mommy, affirmative? ‘ although she spoke in just above a whisper, a hint of a smile graced newt’s countenance.
