The briefing for --- Fillory --- for Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy, still had Alec's head reeling a bit. Some of it wasn't all that shocking. (Afterall, Idris was hidden from most of the world too.) Some of it sounded ridiculous to him. (The whole storybook series for one was a bit silly to him. He couldn't picture someone being stupid enough to write about the Shadowhunter homeland.) Yet he still knew this was just the tip of the iceberg of understanding everything about these places. The testing that had taken place prior was weird. He'd never enjoyed taking paper tests. He much preferred doing things out in the field or in a training room. And the way the test seemed to change from one moment to the next was just bizarre. Almost like it was an on going glamour that couldn't decide what it was supposed to be.

Yet, low and behold, he was told he received the highest marks of the Shadowhunters tested. He would continue the path to diplomacy by getting better acquainted with the University and by extension, Fillory. Most of his classes were proving interesting even if he felt like such a beginner with the actual magic part. Seeing Mundanes who were able to learn magic not dissimilar to warlocks wasn't completely unheard of in his own world but it was no where near as common as he was seeing now.

With his first week of classes done, Alec was looking forward to fitting in some of his usual training along with his course work. It felt weird to be away from The Institute this long but the Dean had allowed him to set up an archery range in the woods. Turning a blind corner into the next hallway, stack of books in his arms -- some reading to catch up to the rest of the class -- Alec turned right into a nearly equally tall man. Half of the books tumbled out of his arms as he cursed under his breath. "--Dammit--Sorry. Are you alright?"

I have been playing so much Red Dead 2 today 😂 it’s my first play through so I’m like oooh. Finally actually exploring further I got so caught up with hunting and taming horses lol. Reminds me how much I need Red dead verses for certain muses.

He detested the idea of trawling the streets with the other hero, it wasn't simply a case of wasted time when he should already be back at U.A working but the attention the winged pro attracted, he wanted nothing to do with and would rather be nowhere within that radius. "You guess you care?" He uttered back, shifting those folders under his arm, a tone of disgust in his voice, a bitter taste now on his tongue. "It is your duty as a hero to care, whether you like it or not, if it is an inconvenience to you, then you're working the wrong career, you could get someone seriously injured with that attitude." As much as a stiff as ever he reluctantly approached the vehicle, someone needed to make sure this job got done and he guessed that person was unfortunately him, now unconvinced that Hawks would take the job seriously, he clambered into the car, knowing fine well if he dismissed the job it was stick in his mind all night. "I don't need a new suit I have one back at my dorm and there is nothing wrong with it."

Hawks could read it on the other man's face before Aizawa had even started to speak. He'd messed up. Big time. Which sucked because Hawks really wanted this guy to like him for some reason.

"I--" The younger hero started to try to correct himself before choosing to shut his mouth and bow his head a bit to show he was listening. He looked embarrassed, not something that happened much. It was hard to shake him, yet Hawks was getting a better idea what it must feel like to be one of Eraser's students when they're scolded for doing something stupid. Most people he worked with were pretty used to his carefree attitude and joking around but it was clear it had majorly rubbed Eraser the wrong way. He frowned and let his hands fall from the steering wheel and rest on his knees while Eraser got into the vehicle.

"Please forgive the stupid joke. All I meant was -- I'm not a bank," he replied, all joking around had left his tone. For what it was worth, he sounded sincere and his cheeks were flushed pink. "But still, you are absolutely right. Please know that I of course care about doing a good job and most importantly keeping everyone safe. I apologize for goofing around in such an unprofessional manner -- you make me nervous. I guess I was just hoping I could make you laugh but looking back it was a really dumb joke. Please give me a chance to make it right? I can give you a ride to UA. Brief you on the mission and get out of your hair for the evening. I'm sure you have a lot to do."

    If there were a tournament for how many stupid questions someone could ask in one second, Angel Dust would finally be picked first for something. Vox looks at him like he's gum under his shoe, or a puppy in a pound, or paint drying on a wall. He hasn't decided what emotion suits this the best.

    〝I'm not a charity case. You should know how to get yourself off without porn by now.〞

    The answer is yes. Bitterly yes, because everytime Valentino asks him to do it for him he wants to tie him to the bed and blueball him.

    He has a smile etched on his face like he's an artefact. With one slow blink, it hikes up into a grin.

    〝Want to see what your boss is doing? That's pretty much the same thing for you, right?〞

Can't even have a little fun with without Valentino immediately being held over him like a cruel reminder that the Vees were generally pulling some sort of strings in his life. Angel's snarky smile fell and it was clear that Vox had struck a chord.

"Tssk," the p.orn star tutted, rolling his eyes a bit before fidgeting with a piece of lint on the carpet with the toe of his boot. Val was upstairs and while it generally could be useful to get a headsup of what kind of mood the Moth was in, Angel Dust didn't want to give Vox that sort of satisfaction.

"Puh-lease, I know you can afford me. I don't charity either," he huffed before shaking his head. "And I have no need to spy on Valentino. I am sure he's screwing, snorting or snoozing. Given it's a day that ends in 'Y'," he added before looking around a bit nervously. "But--uh--D-Don't tell him I said it like that."
