From knowledge we gain understanding, and then wisdom.
Wisdom is good, true, and beautiful.

Melancholic jester. Oil on black wood.
The idea of lonely jesters has always haunted me. In DMT psychedelic trips, people often visualize them as affectionate beings. McKenna often described the machine elves/jesters as cartoonish, theatrical beings who use exaggerated gestures to express affection and absurdity.
He said they would “jump into your chest” with overwhelming love, or shower you with gifts and affection while laughing. I once had a dream where a smiling jester stretched out his hand and said “I love you this much” childishly. The notion of jesters as “lonely” archetypes came to me after observing people who use sarcasm to hide their sadness, or who develop a highly intelligent sense of humor as a result of enduring many hardships.
There is often a link between the entertainment industry and a deep longing for connection; hence, the lonely jester lives on as an eternal archetype within the minds and hearts of artists, entertainers, and all those who strive to bring joy to the world around them.

Do you have a favorite diagram from the manuscripts you’ve read?
Yes! Sir Issac Newton's model of the philosophers stone!
This image was from his personal notes, which have been in a private collection for years. But back in 2016, the manuscripts were put up for auction. They contain a vast amount of writing on contemporary alchemical theory, including this particular diagram, which depicts a theoretical structure of the philosophers stone.
Its an image from one of those wonderful cusps of history. Alchemy was still kinda the leader of the pack, and modern chemistry still had to prove its chops. It was an era when people regarded as serious philosophers and scientists had to contend with ideas we now consider nigh-magical and irrelevant.
You can see in the diagram how newton attempts to square the alchemical idea of the planetary metals as primary metaphysical forces, with the actual physical substances themselves, along with echoes of the theory of Jabirian equilibrium. You can tell Newton thinks of The Stone as this perfectly internally balanced substance, baring all natures and qualities. Like, if the world worked by alchemical laws, this is a damn good theory.
This diagram represents one of the brightest minds in human history giving deep and serious attention to an idea we now know to be entirely wrong. I find it intellectually humbling.

Hello 👋, I hope you're doing well..
My name is Mahmoud, and I'm a 17-year-old from Gaza. The ongoing war has devastated my city, destroyed my school, and made daily life incredibly challenging.
Despite these hardships, I'm determined to continue my education and build a better future. I've been given a chance to study abroad, but I need help to cover the costs of leaving Gaza, as well as living expenses and other essentials abroad once the crossing opens.. 🙏
If you can, please consider donating or sharing, your kindness can truly make a difference, and thanks for your time. ❤🍉

Venus in Cancer - Sailor Moonbeam
Venus in Cancer has a secret rendezvous with the night, a solitary dalliance from twilight until dusk. Lust drunk and deliriously bathed in lunar spotlight, she dances for the man in the moon like she can spin forever. Venus in Cancer falls in love twice, once with her reflection across the heavens. And she falls in love with the one who chases her through seven seas to kiss she places she hurts. Together, they build a lighthouse, locked up safe and high from the tides and people that wash in and out of life. She is wild and untamed in love, though few will ever know this for sure. Venus in Cancer knows the pain of loving and losing, the bruise of wanting an old life back. And like the moon, she is evasive and deceptively open, revealing parts of herself slowly and intricately, undressing years of building defences. You may fall asleep with one girl and wake on the opposite side with one that appears very different, more uncertain, dreamlike, and indelibly shrinking in the sunlight. The moon rising in the sky inflames her intuition and inner howls for intimacy, fighting sleep and falling asleep in arms, safe and sound at last. She longs to be as close and intimate as physically possible, any closer and skin would split, her hips and soft curves filling every part of you in.
A romance with Venus in Cancer is a great secret. These are powerful and passionate bonds, and what may appear as a modest relationship to the onlooker is just a facade for the real performance behind closed doors. The ancient Goddesses of Cancer used the sweet flavour of honey to get high and close to the Gods. Venus in Cancer can get you high off her honeypot and make it near impossible to remove the taste of her from your lips.
Venus enjoys the company of Cancer, sharing a fondness for comfort, love, and simple pleasures. Cancer’s emotional and unstable nature can make the pleasure seeker in Venus excessive and dependant on short-term fixes. Sugar leaves a sweet taste that changes her mood for an instant, but the after taste is bitter when the rush is over. She may also be quite secretive about her indulgent behaviour. Maybe she is ashamed about her patterns of immoderation, especially when she is using food, liquor, sex, or any vice that ails her to cope with distress. She may crave any condiment or treat that she was given as a child to relieve or settle her, like milk or a comforter. In her weaker or more vulnerable moments she longs for that protective, unconditional, almost universal motherly love, safe, sound, and secure - irregardless of being given or denied these in childhood.
Trust, compassion, and respect are unspoken agreements in relationships. She becomes psychically tuned to her lover, and they begin to share an instinct or series of events that prove their inherent connection. Under the spell of the Moon, each lover becomes enmeshed in one another’s most intimate inner places. In a partner, she may look for qualities with strong family values and the desire to settle down and build a life together. There is natural pride, and she provides every resource that she can to support their path to success. She celebrates in the big achievements and the small, and also does plenty of bragging about the partner to others.
In Venus in Cancer dreams, the love story is an endless honeymoon filled with intimate indulgences and the insatiable hunger for each other’s presence. Maybe she fantasises of a cozy cabin in the woods, safe and sound from the world, or sailing across the horizon in arms with no destination. Or maybe they are just reveries of simple pleasures, like falling asleep, cooking meals and enjoying them together. You may assume that she becomes deliriously swept away in these fictional romances, though it’s not always the case. The Venus in Cancer individual tends to have such intense responses to the responses and actions of loved ones that she can be deeply hurt or betrayed by those people - especially as a child. There is a shattering of ideals and harsh realisation about human condition that can lower her expectations of people in general. Though she is still deserving of such reverie, she is made for that classic Hollywood love affair of being romanced with diamonds and dresses, treated as adored royalty.
Cancer is a sign that forces the inner life and emotional needs into awareness. Stability and the anchorage of acceptance and belonging are the foundations for managing the temperament of Cancer. It can make her tremble inside, a lingering fear of the relationship ending, despite the contentment or long-term commitment of both partners. It may even cause her to observe for clues or omens that her partner is unhappy or planning to leave. And while stability may be a necessity, she can invariably attract people with emotional volatility, or a childish dependancy that forces her into a maternal position. She is then supplying nurturing, instead of giving and receiving love freely. Though it’s also possible for individuals to relish in this maternal role that comes most naturally. In extreme scenarios she is relying on her partner to depend on her and supply the validation for existing. Mummy and daddy issues can both make an appearance in Venus in Cancer relationships. The opposite can also occur, mostly with emotionally distant types that burn with ice cold detachment. Such people often bring the inability to understand, ease her worries, or comfort her anguish. It means genuine self-honour is integral with this condition, a considerably lengthy process of gaining self-awareness and defining her inner value system. Once these realises and believes in her own values, she develops the strength to honour them and the person that she is. It’s without the guilt, or the feelings of obligation and expectation, and the more that she lives by these values - the greater honour she displays and grows toward herself.
Venus in Cancer love is unforgettable in the sense you can erase her from your mind, but she never leaves your body, dreams, and the places she discovered you hiding deep within. A solitary and barefoot goddess playing hide-and-go seek with the moon, a light that illuminates you, a tide that cleanses you, the salty syrup that heals you, the baptismal bathe in celestial affection. Her powerful auric field depletes your boundaries almost completely, and from there she finds an old wound to stitch from the inside. Home is no longer a place but wherever you are together
