The horse and their dancing pixies, who brought some heat to their vibrant festivities, welcoming the Lunar New Year with horse zodiac!

Started out as a digital illustration and then thought what would it look like if it risograph print. Especially those pinks, it would look so good with a fluorescent touch!

Wanted to play with some vibrant pinks and purples, and the idea of a dance circle inspired this little gathering. Growing up Lunar New Year celebrations lasted for days, a lot of gatherings with family spread across areas, we feasted and we went all out! This really reflected on how this time of year felt like in many ways.

Also rested out to see how it would look like in a print format and i'm loving how the colors turned out!

Finally had a moment to sit and paint this coffee hut I have always wanted to paint! This is Jones coffee in Pasadena, Los Angeles.

I was so drawn to it because of that striking turquoise paint! That color already wakes you up and never seen a coffee drive thru be painted that way.

Belated Happy Halloween! My little trick or treat paradel is on its way to spooky up the town!

I've had a sketch of this in my back log for so long, always had this colorful idea to celebrate Halloween but just never got round to it. I also originally planned to do this in gouache but I ran out of time.

They are just too cute to not finish, just a little playful take on the creatures that you see on the decorations each year. I have a soft spot for baby dracula!!

Had a bunch of early flights last year hopping to different conventions. There were days where it got super foggy and I could barely see anything in the distance! Sometimes it was bluer and sometimes it was warmer.

I couldn't pick between the two , I really wanted to show off the details of the warmer version!

I have been binging a bunch of Resident Evil let's plays just because I got really nostalgic. I still remember the meme floating around of Jill's iconic english dub "Masters of Unlocking"!

I did a series of six illustrations personifying the words beginning with Love! It was for the purpose of leading up to valentines day! :)

Going to highlight this 'LOVE' series I did a while back. I'm still super proud of how it turned out and what a fun idea it was to play with words and illustrations! Hope you all have a wonderful valentines day!

I always love the view from this hill! It overlooks Los Angeles in a different view and it makes the city shine bright. Whenever I get to the top I always ponder what people are doing and thinking at this moment in time.

Was a little nostalgic of the rainy vibes in Burbank. Hoping we get a little sometime. I definitely debated whether or not I wanted the rain to move or not, I'm actually super happy with how this turned out!

Just another day in the life of Guillermo de la Cruz, cleaning up this 'empty' house, not a person in sight. He dusts the portraits of the home owners but everyone only mentions they only see them at night. It's such a peculiar habit, being only out at night, you wonder if they are just allergic to sunlight. Happy halloween to the best spooky crew of What we do in the shadows!

Some recent landscape paintings on my travels :)

Trying out some wax pastels as a new medium! It's a lot to carry and easel and gouache on these trips so I thought why not try something else :)

The crew goes to fight for Midgar! Was definitely in a Final Fantasy 7 mood due to the recent release of FF VII Rebirth! But I still think fondly of the beginning dark grundy adventures in the Shinra Power plant!

The Boy and his Dragon.

I wanted to finish this for Lunar New Years but this took longer than I wanted it to. Mainly cause I had no clue how to paint a dragon, let alone try painting more of a rendered style lol!

I've never had the courage to go all out full render since I really love to stylize and graphic-ize my paintings. It is something very different from what I make. This was really some I wanted to try with the dramatic lighting, a creature I don't normally draw and a very rendered human in a costume. I definitely learned A LOT! Also dragons are really fun to paint! Definitely went with an eastern style design!

Happy Belated Valentine's Day! 💕

I got to transform paint this background for the Solar Opposites holiday special! It was such a joy to make all the colors fit for such a love struck occasion! I definitely took color inspiration from the target valentines day section, it had to look aesthetic!

Lunar New Year washi tape design for my collaboration with The Washi Station! I was very much inspired by my family's love to decorate our home with florals to celebrate the festivities! Each florals represents something special to bring prosperity and luck for the household!

My friend Aviva, runs this beautiful little small Washi tape store that collaborates with different artists on a washi tape design! Check out the website for other designs from talented artists!

A little pleinair gouache painting of some boats of my past trips back home to Hong Kong! I love the color combinations of the fisherman's boats that roam in Tai O. It is a fishing village worth a visit if you ever want to go visit Hong Kong :) What made this painting a little difficult was the fact that values were kinda similar so having to bring the boat out from the trees way in the back was a bit of a challenge. Plus the water was also a similar green-blue tone, just had to adjust a few colors so the boats pop!  You can find this painting in my recent Idle Hours 2 book! I only have a few left!

The weekend is almost here! I kind of want to cozy up to Pikmin 4 again, they are all so cute! Its going to rain here so this is definitely the perfect stay at home weather game!
