city love
I want to live in the city because I wish to lose myself in it. As much as I love nature more than anything else in the world, there is something uniquely beautiful about the artificial nature of cities. It’s the history, of the city itself and the people within it. It’s the stories unfolding each day. I wish to lose myself within them. To travel each street, to see each person, to eat at every restaurant, to experience each facet of its culture, and to go home to my apartment that overlooks the city and just admire it from my balcony with a cup of tea. The sight of a city at nighttime is something I would stay up for hours to witness. Perhaps it begins to rain slightly, and the rain taps gently on my window as the cars drive through the wet streets beneath me as the world continues to thrive through the stillness of the hours of slumber. I want to envelope myself in those hours, to be one with the world as it sleeps. To be free.
